I am disappointed to see some of these people bashing vinnies shop,
I have bought 2 dogs over the course of years since vinnies first opened both at west manchester mall along with several other critters, and have never had a problem with any of them. I indeed take offence to these people, if you were a dog person you would know mixed breeds often present problems unseen do to the breeding, were as not so much on reg breeds. My schanauzer has been great noi problems infact he has out lived many other schanauzers I have owned, i bought him from vinnies at wm mall years ago and he still here, although he is very old now, i have already went to vinnies, yesterday looking for my next puppy. please investigate the type of dog your interested in before buying and asumming to blame vinnies, in addition the woman who son was yelled at probally had an old employee whom I assure you is no longer employed by vinnies, Vinnie and her Partner are very sweet people people and probely were unaware of the situation.

I am unsurprised by the review left by Lori. I would not expect them to treat anyone well considering that the sales of their dogs are supporting the poor so called breeders that the dogs come from. It is never a good idea to purchase a dog through a pet shop, with the possible exception of the dog being a fostered rescue dog. If you want a puppy of a particular breed and are not willing to look for a shelter dog, find a REPUTABLE BREEDER. Here's a hint, you'll be on a waiting list to get your dog, because it will be an experience worth waiting for. Don't support puppy mills. And don't be so blind as to think that if you were lucky enough to recieve a healthy dog from a pet shop that its parents aren't being poorly treated and dogs aren't overbred. You should meet a puppy's parent dogs, and see what environment it was living in and where it was bred anyway... how is that happening at a pet shop??? And wouldn't a knowledgeable pet shop owner have known that? Besides, I just heard about a puppy being bought here who died of parvo soon after purchase. Why didn't their "highly recommended" vet catch that? Your puppy might be loveable as any other, but its never good to support a place as awful as a puppy mill so that they can continue their ill practices, and by handing over money for their puppies, you're funding future animal abuse.

I used to always love this place, and used to go there and take my kids all the time to look at the animals, and even planned on buying a dog there someday, but NEVER AGAIN!!!!! I took my kids in there and my 2 yr. old son squealed in excitement upon seeing the animals, and the lady that worked there yelled "hey" very rudely, and I let that go. Then, he did it again, and she came over, pointed her finger in my sons face, and started yelling at him, telling him he was gonna scare the animals, and told him if he didn't stop screaming, he was gonna have to leave the store. She yelled at him for about a minute in a very mean and rude way, and he was so scared, he was holding on to my leg for dear life! When I told her it was unapprropriate for her to yell at my son like that and if she had a problem she should have said something to me, she defended herself saying that you have to talk to kids like that, and kept saying that he couldn't scream around the pets, etc. I told her I understand if he can't scream in front of the pets, but it was absolutely unnecessary for her to yell at my son like that, and told her she should have said said something, in a respectful way, to me, and I definitely would have taken him out of the store. She just kept defending what she did,and I could see I wasn't gonna get anywhere, so I left. I called 4 times within a month, leaving messages for Vinnie to call me back, and never got a phone call. I finally went back in there today, asking for Vinnie, but she was not there, but guess who was? She told me Vinnie would probaly not be able to reture my call, because she was very busy with her sick uncle. She told me she was the owner too. I told her again how displeased I was, and she just kept defending what she did, saying that there was a bird out of the cage, and his screaming could have caused it to attack my son. If you have a bird that could attack someone for screaming, don't you think it should be in a cage!!!!!????? How about if a newborn baby, a kid with a temper tantrum, or a mentally disabled person went in there, and was making a lot of noise? I would thing that would be a safety issue. I pretty much realized there was nothing that was gonna get done, but I will never go there again, and I would think twice about taking your kids in there, and even if you don't have kids, dealing with these kind of people. I never write reviews, but I feel so strongly about this. I still feel that there is something I should be able to do, or some kind of complaint I should be able to make, but I was told that there's not. I don't think a lot of moms would have been as classy and mature as I was. Also, the cats had long nails and scratched me in the back while I was turned.

On Nov 2, 1996 I purchased a Bischon from Vinnie's when it was in the West Manchester Mall. That little ball of fur became the light of our life and the boss of our household for the last 14 years. We lost her on December 13, this year. When I'm ready I'll definately go back to Vinnie's.

We bought a little dog from Vinnie's Bow Wow years ago when the store was located in the West Manchester Mall." Ringo" has been the perfect pet. He was exactly what we asked for. He has never had any health issues. I would reccomend Vinnie's to anyone looking for a best four-footed friend.

A couple years ago i remember walking into that building and being stunned by the horrible customer service and conditions of the pets, but when the new management took over the place changed for the better. The shop has wonderful employees that know how to handle and train the animals. Thier puppies are vet inspected and groomed. I purchased a shih tzu bichon mix, and have been very happy with his outstanding smarts! I would recomend this shop to anyone starting thier search for a new companion.

This shop is very clean and well organized. I have been in both of the locations and the one in Thomasville is by far the best but they are limited with the one at Market.
I would send all of my friends and realatives to their shop.

Pros: Vinnie and Emily are the most knowledgeable people

Cons: constraints at the shop at the market

I bought a cocker spaniel here years ago. The puppy was very aggressive. That is not how puppies are supposed to be so I took the dog to my vet. She tried to attack my vet and he said that she had a congenital problem of heredity nature. Apparently the only way you can return a dog is if they have a congenital or hereditary problem. They refused to take the dog back when I went to them with this information. Instead they tried telling me that I was doing a horrible taking care of the dog. The owner was very rude. Do NOT buy dogs from these people!! Their puppies do come from puppy mills. I tried to find out where my dog was from before I bought her and they said they didn't know. When we finally got the papers it said she came from Gap, PA. Puppy Mill capital of the world!!! I was moritfied. I ended up having to sell the dog to someone because she kept attacking my nephew. I recently found out that she died. The dog would have been around 6 or 7. Something had to be wrong with her!!

I purchased my wonderful little man from Vinnie's Bow Wow Shoppe. I received extensive information on proper care of my little puppy. I would definitely recommend them. They have all their animals vet checked with health certificates. All of my questions were answered. It was an enjoyable experience. The shop was spotless.

The owner is extremely rude and unprofessional. I wanted to ask questions concerning the two dogs I was interested in purchasing and she ignored me and said she did not feel like taking both dogs out of their cage. I have never experienced worse costumer service in my life. Thank goodness we do not have children because the only thing she bothered to say was how she hated when people brought their kids in to decide what dog they wanted for the household. I would never recommend any animal lover purchase from this "pet store".

Don't get a dog from here. All the puppies for sale come from the Lancaster puppy mills that Oprah did that show on. Awful conditions and my dog I got from there years ago has TONS of issues. He has cost me over 10,000 and he is only a little over 4 years. The kittens they get are also just from random people wanting to unload them. They are not tested for any medical issues like Feline Leukemia or Feline Aids. Go to the shelter instead!
