Sotto Varalli

Had a very similar experience as the reviewer! Was just walking by Sotto Varalli after a performance at The Wilma, saw the crowd and wandered in. The Jazz combo was fantastic, the pianist especially amazing. The bartenders were really pleasant, joking around with each other, but not excluding the paying customers, great repartee. We had desserts and a couple cocktails, which was the clincher for us becoming regulars! Champagne Cosmo's. A Chocolate Martini too die for!

My wife and I walked by Varalli's one evening after a performance at the Academy of Music. We initialy went in because we heard wonderful sounds of jazz coming from the restaurant. Upon entering we realized very quickly that this place had great energy and excitement. The atmosphere, crowd, and music all complimented the view of the active city life through the huge windows. We had a couple of drinks and appetizers. We think they have the best calamari we have ever eaten! We sat on a comfortable banquette with cocktail tables that had a great view of the musicians. We felt as if we had not left the show at the Academy. Everything came together to make a great performance at Varalli's, the food, service, music, and ambiance were a terrific combination. Since then, we eat dinner at Varalli's before a show, but save our dessert for the evening performance at Varalli's after the theater.
