If you have never tried hotstone therapy, then you do not know what ou are missing out on. I t is one of the most relaxing massge tecniques I have even had done. These people are great. It is owed by a guy and a girl, Jill and Jeff, who are very friendly and helpful in helping you choose the right massage tecnique for you. They offer many different types of massage.

GREAT no-nonsense massage
by jabe813
I have been going to the Feel Better Reflexology Center for over five years now. This place is great. Through the years I always managed to find a therapist that gives GREAT deep tissue massages. Most recently Jill is amazing!! But, it can sometimes be a little tough to get an appointment with her if you wait until the last minute like I almost always do ;) they almost always squeeze me anyway, if they cannot, there are other phenomenal therapists there as well.
Regarding the negative posts about the atmosphere.... Yes, this on the 2nd floor of a home-type building in the city and near/above the spice shot.. but, that is exactly why I like it. Parking is simple. You don't have to deal with the snooty, high-priced, overrated non-sense that comes along with other massage places in the city. FBRC give you personalized attention. It?s welcoming and comfortable. They don't rush you in an out. They TRULY care about how you feel... Before and after your session.. and overall as a people.
If you want a great massage without having to deal with a lot pretension - go see Jill!
Pros: convenience, cost, location, parking, flexibility
Cons: no paper flip-flops sorry :(

I always feel better
by Bystander8
I'm not sure what that other person was thinking but none of my experiences have been like that. They are very pleasant but you can't please everybody. Especially an angry customer. In any case, they have gone the extra mile to make sure my needs and concerns about the parts of my body that bother me were taken care of. Thanks guys. See you soon.
Pros: Great services all around
Cons: Need more space for more customers

Fantastic Reflexology, Excellent Massages
by cdenker
I feel better just knowing that Feel Better Reflexology is in the neighborhood. Where else can you get such wonderful massages, such fine-tuned and health-giving reflexology treatments, at such affordable prices? No place that I know. The couple who run this service-oriented establishment are amazingly friendly and caring. They do not try to impress the customer with fancy atmospheric tricks. The massage--and their caring before and after, giving you lots of time to relax, water to de-toxify and music if you want it along with the massage--is all the atmosphere you need.
There are three massage rooms, all with cozy outfittings and sparkling clean sheets. Although it's right in the middle of the city, on Spring Garden Street right above Penn Herb (handy), there are NO city noises, just a wonderful little hideaway.
In this overblown world, where everything is overpriced and you hardly ever get full service for what you pay for, FEEL BETTER Reflexology is the exeption. Whenever I feel stressed or rundown--as just happened, since I'm on deadline and felt myself getting too rundown--I take myself over there. Thank goodness they are here--I don't know what I'd do without them. P.S. I got my first draft in on time, feeling revived after two sessions.
Pros: fabulous reflexology and massage; totally reasonable price; neighborhood establishment, caring staff
Cons: none

Don't Waste Your Time
by frogfaerie
The Reflexology Center is located in a building meant to be used as office space. There are two tiny massage rooms which are meant to be offices with just about enough room for the massage table and not much else. I got tired of hearing my therapist scraping against the wall as she was doing my massage. The sheets they use on the massage tables look like they got them off of someone's bed, because they are all old mismatched sheets from thrift shops, the smell of stale oil in the sheets was really distracting during my massage. I came in this past August to get a deep tissue massage and the therapist used very little pressure. When I complained about my massage, I was told "Our goal here is to do an average massage, not an outstanding massage, we believe in being humble" Well, that pretty much says it all. They also didn't offer a discount or anything in the interest of customer service. I have been to many "down to earth" establishments (that at least had clean white sheets on the table) to have massage, so I'm no snob, but this place truly has very low standards. The owners will do anything to save a buck. No air conditioning in the summertime, and since they are located over the Penn Herb store, you smell this nauseating blend of different herbs all throughout the building. The owners are nice enough but have no business sense, and the place is just run down looking.
Pros: Staff was pleasant enough, even if unhelpful
Cons: Run down, No parking, Below average massage, poor customer satisfaction

Better Yet
by Nydair
This is one "Best Kept Secret", that should not be kept secret. I've been to many spas and different health centers, by far, "Feel Better Reflexology Center" truly lives up to its name. There is a very pleasant atmosphere and the staff are even more pleasant. Most importantly, you do "Feel Better" after leaving the center. They have an array of services and what else????? THE PRICES ARE RIGHT! I've recommended it to my family and friends and now I am recommending it to you. BF
Pros: Service, Prices, Friendly Staff
Cons: Parking

POSITIVE VIBRATIONS & AMAZING MASSAGE/REFLEXOLOGY
by KELLY19125
Located right in the heart of northern liberties above penn herb company at 2nd and green street. i have experienced over 50 massages at this amazing center. the feel better reflexology center is family owned and operated as well as adding a few great massage therapists in the mix. there are no silk robes provided, no corporate dressed employees, just extreme down -to -earth energy received from the moment you arrive! i read some of the other reviews and was shocked at how one described the enviornment. the center is clean, warm and above all...relaxing. one client posted that the sheets were mismatched, this is called recycling and 100% recommended if not approved by many! another review i noticed said there was gross smells, these fragrants that one will smell come from many different natural oils that each individual therapist uses...olive oil, lemon grass oil, brazilian nut oils, and so many others. another post described the decor as if a fifth grader had decorated..actually, the beautiful woman who co-owns this center spends some of her spare time designing an array of different creations in which one can see throughout the center. her creative flare is abundant and much appreciative. northern liberties is a neighborhood of electic and creative individuals. the feel better reflexology center is the perfect addition to our neighborhood. the therapists are friendly and complete continuing education hours so that you the client can receive the best massage ever! if you are looking for stark white sheets, silk robes, corporate lad employees, expensive prices, and chemically infused oils being used on your largest organ(skin), and computer screens that generate a hello, perhaps you need to look at other massage centers, because the feel better reflexology center is unique and bottom line,YOU LEAVE FEELING BETTER!
Pros: CREATIVE FRIENDLY STAFF/ATMOSPHERE
Cons: NONE, THIS PLACE IS A HIDDEN GEM WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY

Local, Unpretentious, affordable massages
by catoufc
I've been to Feel Better Reflexology about 5 or 6 times in the last couple years. (I've had massages at many different places in the city) and their massages and therapists are mostly on par with other comparable treatments in the city. (although you have to be specific about exactly what kind of work you want to have done, they're also very big on foot reflexology, I don't find it does much for ME personally)
Also, they have raised their prices somewha in that time- for the shorter half hour massages and 55 minute massages. I tend to go to Feel Better for the convenience as I live in the neighborhood and because of the affordability. However, if you compare to other spas in the city the prices are now almost the same (except for the longer 2 hr massages, those are a great deal!) For those who care about such things, the place does not have much style or a calming ambience. It appears to be a weird doctor's office stuck in a color-challenged time capsule. The furniture and decor is seriously lacking and dated. The equipment and sheets are also a bit budget and old - and you feel like you are at someone's house instead of an impeccable spa.
There is no one here to offer you a glass of lemon-basil infused water, or to change in a provided bathrobe. Also, it tends to be slightly noisy because the facility is located on the corner of Green and 2nd you can hear a lot of the car traffic outside. They have a lot of deals with packages and for returning customers, so if you tend to get a lot of massages and don't care for the frills/ambience of a regular spa, this place is for you.
Pros: no frills massages, affordability
Cons: ambience, decor, equipment/blankets/sheets

Massage in Northern Liberties
by bubeleh
I live in the neighborhood. My niece suggested the Feel Better Reflexology Center and we decided to try it today. I always go into center city for massage. When we showed up at this place today without an appointment, we were greeted in a friendly and professional manner. After filling out forms asking the appropriate health and allergy questions, we were shown to our therapy rooms. I had a very good massage! My therapist did a really good job on the places where I hold stress and tension. The massage I had today was as good if not better than others I've had in spas in Center City. Of course this place is nothing like the spa atmosphere of the other places in town but it was clean and comfortable and the therapist did a really good job. And the prices are reasonable! I'm sure I will be going back. I love the fact that you can walk in without an appointment! I have no doubt that my niece will be returning too.
Pros: Good Prices, Competent Therapists, No Appointments Necessary, Evening Hours
Cons: you can hear outside noise and ringing phones

Worst Atmosphere ever
by RoryK
First I want to start by saying that the staff was very friendly. The place however was horrible. The massage room had a horrible smell. The sheets were not clean, they were all different colors and very rough and VERY wrinkled. My sheets also had bleach spots on them. The place was old and the floors squeaked. The massage was ok, but the smell made it impossible to enjoy. The room wasn't dark enough, and it just looked like a 10yr old decorated it. I would never go back to this place and I would never recommend it to anyone. Please don't waste your money.
Pros: friendly staff
Cons: dirty rooms and beds

Great reflexology!
by massagemaven
The reflexology ( foot massage) at this funky little neighborhood place is awesome! I always leave floating on air and feeling much less stressed than when I arrived. No, it's not a spa, but reflects the cool, unpretentious vibe of Northern Liberties. Good spot to de-stress.
Pros: friendly staff, reasonable prices, some parking
Cons: a little hard to find

Great No-Frills Massage
by dyoung77
I've been to fancier center city spas where I received a decent massage but felt like I was paying more for the atmosphere than the service. Feel Better has a convienent location, a clean and pleasant facility, and very friendly staff. My massage was very relaxing and thorough. Well worth the price. I will definitely be back!
Pros: Location, price, friendly staff
Cons: Traffic noise

Hidden Treasure
by laka
This place is absolutely amazing! Although it is a little hard to find at first, once you DO find it it is sooo worth it. The business is run by a husband and wife and they are the sweetest and most personable people ever. On your first visit they will give you a picture of a muscular body and give you a highlighter to highlight the parts of your body that you want them to focus on. They keep your sheet on file and everytime you come in they know just what needs work! I've been there plenty of times and I love it!
Pros: Staff
Cons: Location

Great for therapeutic massage
by JT1980
This place was great for a really deep tissue massage. I get frustrated going to other places that offer deep tissue but aren't able to apply real pressure for the whole 90 minutes. This was a great massage at a reasonable price and close to public transportation.

by jensam22
This is the place to go if you want a great massage at a great price. You won't find all the frills of a spa but if you want a nonsense, relaxing massage this is the place to go. I've been there a few times and have never been disappointed. The staff is friendly and it's not an issue to get an appointment - even on the same day. I would recommend Feel Better to anyone.
Pros: excellent massage, friendly staff, reasonable prices
Cons: outdated decor

Good massage, easy appointments.
by transiencia
It's not a deluxe spa by any means, but you'll get a good massage for a reasonable price. I've tried several different therapists there, and I've always felt better when I leave. And I often show up pretty miserable... They always fit you in quickly and do great work on your muscles!
Pros: great massage, affordable, available
Cons: ambience

Great Quality in a No Frills Setting
by aydaciya
For those folks like myself who are very active and deal with great muscle pain, come to this place.
True, there are no bath robes, pretty paintings, or other fancy details that come along with a Rittenhouse spa. This place is for the folks who care more about relieving painful limbs than brand names massage products.

by sugareee
I had a quality affordable 30 min sweedish massage/foot reflexology at Feel Better that definately helped my back pains. The therapists are friendly and not pretentious like some other salons I have been to. Feel Better makes you feel welcome and caters to the client by being flexible with hours, massage styles, and combo packages.

I've been having chronic back pain due to stress and I just don't know what I would've done without Feel Better Reflexology. Their team of experts are professional, sympathetic and excellent at what they do. My experience with them has been extremely positive. I highly recommend the swedish massage and foot reflexology (together). You won't be sorry. You'll just be sorry you didn't find them sooner.
Pros: Quiet atmosphere, friendly knowledgeable staff, not fussy, great value, great hours
Cons: none

Feel Better Reflexology Lives Up To Their Name
by inez87
This is my second time at Feel Better Reflexology Center. My very first experience was a great one as well as my second. The first time I went I only had a Swedish Massage by Jill. This time I went and had a hot stone w/ the Reflexology done by anoother guy. I enjoyed the swedish better because of its stronger touch and I didnt feel the results of the hot stone until the next morning. I work out alot and the hot stone relieved my aches and sore muscles. I highly recommend going here, I'm a student and they definatly worked with me and I highly recommend the reflexology along with any other massage combined. Jeff and Jill are highly customer oriented and I enjoyed myself. I gave it 4 stars only because the establishment is a little dated, but if you want a good massage Feel Better is IT! Not only is the service good but the price is stellar too!
Pros: Really comfortable and pleasant staff, and prices
Cons: a little difficult to find the location

Wonderful massage - great staff!
by sjgal
I am an avid philadelphia runner and I always look forward to my after race recovery massage. I always make my appointments at Feel better. Feel better's staff is extremely knowledgable and professional. Their massages are fabulous as are their packages. I really like the Combo package where you can get two different types of massages in one session. I also think their prices are extremely reasonable. You would pay double at any salon/spa in the city what you can get here. The other great thing about Feel better is their "come as you are" and everyone deserves a massage attitude. Their's is a holistic approach to wellness.
Pros: great prices, staff, hours

Relax I found the place to go in Philadelphia!!!!
by parkranger_2006
The people at The Feel Better Reflexology Center are very professional and treat each client needs as if it where their own. I have been a client for about a 11/2 years and would highly recommend The Feel Better Reflexology Center to every visitor and resident of Philadelphia. If you need a message or would like to try Reflexology, hot stone therapy this is the place to go. The caring philosophy of the Feel Better Reflexology Center staff really make you feel at home. It doesn't get much better than this. Everyone is concerned with price. You really get more than your monies worth here. The high prices of the east coast do not extend into the Feel Better Reflexology Center.

worst massage ever
by nychic81
The worst $90 I ever spent. I specifically requested deep tissue and got mostly swedish massage and reflexology. It was so weak, it gave me no help for my pain at all. Didn't leave me "feeling better."

Best service you can get for the $
by anne28star
Service was great- purchased 1 hr. deep tissue massages for a friend and myself...it was wonderful and my therapist was very attentive on the areas I needed the most focus on. Again to my last comments, the place needs a little work on the decor, but if you just want a great massage without the "foo-foo" image, then go here.
Pros: Timely, Evening hours, Skilled
Cons: Decor, Somewhat hard to find

EXCEPTIONAL massages!
by plantatree
I am so happy to have found the FEEL BETTER MASSAGE Center! I am always happy with the massages I get there. I have an ongoing problem and often call at the last minute to scheule something for that day. The staff is SUPER accomodating and always seem to fit me in. The service is exceptional and the staff give personalized attention . Both Jeff and Jill are very caring and personable. They are very happy to tailor the session to meet each clients unique needs- for me it's always tension in the neck and they get the considerable kinks out every time! I have recommended them many times to friends who are in need of a massage. Plus there's on-street parking right near the door so you don't lose the effects of the massage getting yourself home if you drive!!
Pros: onstreet parking

Poor Service
by bdevil
I never got a chance to see how the massage was. I scheduled a mothers day retreat for my wife. They scheduled me for 2:30. That day, I got a call confirming my 3:30 appointment, and they said I could do later. Called to confirm the morning of, no record of the reservation, could not fix the problem, left me with no Mothers Day gift. Staff was apathetic, no offer to fix. Would not recommend.

No More Tendonitis Pain
by cdianet
I had been suffering with tendonitis in both elbows from a workers comp injury. For the past year I've been through many sessions of physical therapy and had three cortisone shots, all with no relief. I thought I was at the brink of having surgery, then I discovered the Feel Better Center. I went there for a combo of reflexology/massage and two days after my initial session I was pain free for the first time in a year and have remained that way. I've been discharged from my workers comp injury. I'm going to keep up with monthly sessions in order to remain healthly. I would highly recommend going to the Feel Better Center for relief from ailments. You will not be disappointed.
