I dine out, on average, 5 times a week. With that being said, Denise was the worst server I have ever had. She was very rude (understatement). I suggested that we wait until the appetizers came before we ordered and she corrected me, saying that she would never bring our food until the appetizer was gone. OK? So it's going to sit under a heat lamp in the back. Great. Why do we have to be rushed? Our dinners came with a salad. We both asked for caesar salad to which she reported that there was a small upcharge. Apparently a small upcharge to change the dressing and throw an anchovy on top is $4.95 per salad. Yes, 5 dollars PER SALAD to get a caesar vs. a tossed salad. On top of that, this was a 1/2 salad. According to the menu, the full price for a full salad was only $6.95. Prices were high, but not astormical, assuming you do not accept the 'small upcharge' on the salad. As you would expect from some type of mofia run business, they would not take any money off of the total $9.90 upcharge for salads. Denise had some ... Denise had some major problems with us being there and I sensed, no wait, knew she was giving us attitude. If I knew Big Vinny wouldn't come out of the back, I would have kicked her. That's how rude she was to me. I've actually never kicked anybody, but felt the need to do a backflip off of her throat. She grabbed the bill with my credit card and ran off saying that 'I dont make the prices, I just work here' as she ran off. I've been to this restaurant before and it was great. Needless to say, I will never go back. I never, repeat, NEVER complain about service at a restaurant, but Denise pushed me over the edge with her horrible attitude. It's call customer service, hunny. We withheld the tip and left. Also, there was a hair in the bread basket.

I found this restarant about a year ago and I eat here at least twice a month. Their wedding soup is truly homemade and is worth the trip all by itself. A unique thing is that they will sell you a take home container of their soup, ready made and packaged. They are tucked into a spot behind South Hills Village. So many good things on the menu. Great food and service. I wish I could say more about this great hidden treasure in the south hills.
