Great place to get great food on a budget. Always low prices. If the quality of the produce is less than desirable, they usually sell it for much less. I love going there when its really really busy because I, unlike that racist Kelly W. who posted a review here, happen to love people, and it makes me feel like I'm in a big city when I'm in there. Actually some diversity, unlike the west side of millcreek. The cashiers are great, many of them work their butt off all day yet still have a smile on their face. Highly recommended. I only wish they carried some free-range, hormone free, grass fed meats. Oh well.

its a good place to shop if you are willing to deal with the ignorant loud blacks and the smelly iraqs i try to go in the morning in the middle of the month when those kind of people aren't there walking around with there p.j's and house slippers on.and this also prevents me havin watch my cart to make sure the meat i just had cut isn't gettin stolen out of my cart because its a little cheaper then theres just very unpleasant place to shop at times but it is very cheap! its not in the best neighborhood neither it seems like its in the ghetto that also makes ya kinda leary my mom wont even go there because of the location i think they should open up a nother store on the west side and offer 2 stores for people alot of people watch the news and don't want to be on that side of town its just a very unsafe place i remember couple of years ago a eldlery women got hit by a car there we need to cater to our elderly

This place is the best ! Fresh produce with a great selection of hard to find items . Fresh meats. Best cheese selection in Erie and all the above are half the price of other stores. This place provides a way for everyone to be able to eat good food. If you go in the middle of the day will have good selection but have to deal with the crowds. I prefer to go after the crowd is gone and deal with the thinned out selection. I have never seen a place that can provide this kind of quality at these prices and as for those who snub ECF ...well keep shopping at Wegmans and Giant Eagle and leave the supply of fine imported cheese for me ! The money I saved this year could by me a fishing boat.

It is a great place to shop. Most of the time, the food is fresh. Lately, fruits are not so fresh. I bought a big bag of oranges. In less than a week, most of the oranges started to rot. I took them back and the manager said they did not guarantee their food. They gave me two oranges to replace the rotten ones. I asked them to keep the whole bag of oranges. I would have received better service from Wegman s or Quality. The manager should remember how easy it is for even bigger business to fail.

Been shopping at Erie Country Farms a long time even back when it was on 26th. St. years ago. Lately, the produce has been less than adequate. The quality is poor and most varieties are not fresh, appear to have been frost damaged and won't last the week in your fridge. I have thrown out most of what I purchased the last two visits. Carrots, potatoes, peppers, yams, grapes, etc. all appear to be close to expiring, with spoiled decaying items mixed with borderline fresh items. The deli is good and meats are acceptable, but I have noticed the sale items in the meat dept. have signs of freezer burn, reason for the sale price, but they don't look healthy. There was a time when Erie County Farms was our favorite place to shop, but if you need to throw away most of what you buy, it doesn't make economic sense. The people are great, friendly, courteous and quick.

They definitely have the freshest produce, meats and deli in town... and their prices are the CHEAPEST anywhere! The service there is just amazing as well... The staff works at warp speed to get you through the lines -- I've never seen anything like it! -- Which explains why it's such a popular supermarket -- it's definitely not for the faint hearted and if you make the mistake of turning your back for a minute on your shopping cart, there is always someone willing to swipe it's contents. I saw two elderly ladies get into a shouting match one day - fighting over the goods! I usually take my husband - have him man the cart while I swoop in and out of the isles collecting our groceries. I like to call it "combat shopping" --it's actually kind of fun and adds to the charm of the place -- kind of like the "thrill of the kill"... ha! I give this 5 stars!

Yes, it's very busy at times, especially early in the month, but if you go in the late afternoon it's not bad at all. This store has the FRESHEST produce and meat you can buy and it is ALWAYS much MUCH cheaper than going to a grocery store or even Aldi. They also have a HUGE deli with SUPER low prices. Here's a tip, get your deli number right when you come in, do your shopping and then go back to the deli, it will be worth your wait.

It has been 8 years since I have gone to ECF but if they are still in bussiness I would like more enfo in times that they are open and I would like to know if the location on the web site is still accurate.
NOW the market is the totally best place to purchase meats and produce that I have ever been to. the Quality is supurb and the prices were great
If you need to fill your freezer or just do weekly shopping this truly the place. WHAT A SAVINGS

Erie County Farms has cheap meat, but you must buy in bulk. To top it off, the meat is very good quality. Their produce is also very cheap, but very fresh and good quality. There are other odds and ends grocery type items available for sale also. There is a large selection of cheese there too, more than any grocery store I have ever seen. Their cashiers call out the price when you check out, so you know that they know how much it costs. They are closed Sundays and Mondays, so plan around those days. If they are going to be closed for a period of time, they always advertise in the paper to let you know.
PROS: Cheap meat and produce, but very good quality food
CONS:

Even though this place can get really crowded and crazy, Erie County Farms, Erie's only indoor farmer's market, is a wonderful place to get all of your fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and diary products. The prices are better than what you'd find in a supermarket and buying fresh meats and produce straight from the farm will make you feel good. Occasionally, they will have specials on "name brand" products like ready to bake cookies, etc. Check out ECF and you won't be disappointed. Good quality food. Take a nerve pill before going if you go around the holiday season.

This place is wonderful if you have the patience for a crowded place. Your meats selection is always fresh with great low prices, I wouldnt buy meats from any other place! Also have great prices on fresh fruits and vegetables and much more! Quick workers always friendly customer service! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for fresh foods and great customer service!

Now this store is another story, I love all their service and especially the hard working employee's, the only problem I have with it is, their workers work entirely too hard, they know all the prices by heart and are EXPECTED to be very very fast at ringing them up. I think the owner is really pushing them way to hard instead of hiring extra help which would be a more pleasant working environment for them. they still smile though, gotta hand it to them, and I do not know anyone or have ever worked at this place.

Great prices on fresh produce, you have to watch the prices on fresh meats, sometimes the grocery store may have better prices. They stock items that can't be found in other stores and for alot less money too. Can be very crowded, not for the tame of heart.
PROS: Sometimes very long lines at checkout.
CONS: wish it was closer to where I live.

This is where I shop to stock up my freezer with meats. They have a great selection and you can't beat the prices.
It gets a little crazy in here especially at the beginning of the month when everyone gets there assisstance checks, Social Sercurity or any other form of monetary help.
But the products are always fresh be it meats, produce, dairy, or deli. I can go here and buy over a months worth of meat and cheese for less then $100 to feed my family of 3 or 4 depending on whether there is company at the dinner hour.
I recommend this place especially if you are on a tight budget. It definitely stretches the budget a little further. Heck, I shop here and don't really have to worry.
PROS: Quality Meat, Dairy, Produce and Deli for a lot less
CONS: Some times very, very crowded and crazy
