Recently had my first visit to this office after moving to Philadelphia. Very impressed. Dr. Radbill is very down to earth. His staff is extremely nice, especially to my babies, which is what counts most. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I have been a patient of Dr. Radbill's since 2002. I would recommend him with no reservations; he's professional, knowledgeable and kind. I'm a little flummoxed when I read a negative review of professional service providers I've successfully used for years. I've always found his staff to be kind and considerate; even under the most difficult of circumstances. The only slight drawback to the practice is that they're not in the Center City office everyday, which can be a little inconvenient.

This is not the place to take any animal you care about at all. I scheduled minor surgery for my dog, and instead of having the doctor meet me and tell me what was involved, the receptionist, rudely and impatiently, hurried through my questions without answering a single one. I asked about what they used for sedation. she said, "ketamine, sometimes." I asked if the do pre-surgical bloodwork. she said "sometimes." without even looking at my dog, and referring to her as a him (a minor misstep except it happened like 15 times and reveals a certain lack of engagement), she said my dog would be put in a "holding room" for three hours, until the doctor "got around to her." I asked if I could come back when the doctor had time, and talk to him myself. she said, "no." we left. sketchy!

Pros: I hear the doctor is nice, if he has time for clients

Cons: the receptionist does all the stuff doctors should be doing

A few years ago when I lived in Philly my hamster got sick with a wet tail. It's hard to find a vet who specializes in small animals, so I had to call a number of places and finally I called Radbill animal hospital. They told me they could treat a hamster. My hamster was in really bad shape at that point, he lost half of his weight. So at Radbill, they gave him antibiotics and injected him with fluid. The next 30 hours were HELL. The poor guy was in so much agony. Eventually he so worn out, he died a slow and painful death. I checked online and the antibiotic this vet gave us was listed as TOXIC to hamsters. It caused a severe allergic reaction and poisoning. There were other alternatives, but the vet didn't have those antibiotics and they preferred to give me whatever they had instead of being honest. I paid $80 to give my pet a more painful death.

I have been taking my dogs (3) to this vet since 1994. He is thorough and compassionate. His Vet techs are very good with the dogs and they are knowledgeable when I've called to ask questions.
