Probably the worse experience ever as a customer dealing in good faith with the Steve Shannon Tire & Auto Center in Towanda, PA. Wished that we would have read other reviews and talked with two of our neighbors who had a very similar negative experience with this shop. As we dove up to this store I did wonder why this tire shop had so many open bays while the other tire shops in the area are busy and book solid. We scheduled a winter to summer tire change and front end alignment (alignment as a matter of seasonal routine maintenance) for our 2010 Ford Focus. We had to return our car the next day due to severe vibration and pulling to one side and four broken lug nuts. The manage inspected our car and said the service technicians are a little rough and those lug nuts break all the time but they would replace them for us. A new service technician worked on our car and said that the tires were out of balance and out of round and should not have been put on. I asked the service manager why the first service technician mounted the tires if they were faulty and why didn't he tell us that he broke the lug nuts. the service manage said he would ask him that when he came into work but in the meantime wanted to get us taken care of. He sold us a new set of Cooper tires and discounted them to compensate for the mounting and balancing of our summer tires the day before. The service manage also said he had our replacement lug nuts sent up from Lambert Ford in Dushore to Sherwood Groves in Wysox for us to pick up. Sadly things were done wrong or not done at all as far as the alignment or balancing since our care still pulled to the right but this time the whole front end shook when obtaining speeds over 45mph. We had a vital trip to go on and we depended upon this car for good gas mileage but had to use our old car as ours was now unsafe to drive at highway speeds. We decided not to go back to the Steve Shannon store in Towanda but rather have this problem fixed by professionals so we took our car to Sherwood Groves in Wysox who assessed the problem with the car being out of alignment and the new tires out of balance (have invoice). As it turns out our car was never aligned or if it was it was aligned improperly and disputably the new tires were never balanced when mounted. Sherwood Groves also had the replacement lug nuts that the Shannon Tire store of Towanda sent up for us to replace the ones that they broke but Sherwood Groves was instructed by the Towanda store of Shannon tires to charge us for the replacement lug nuts. I spoke with the Steve Shannon service manager from Towanda about this matter via speaker phone while at Sherwood Groves and was quite taken back by his refusal replace the lug nuts that his service technician broke and his threat telling me to "come done here and get in my face if you want to do anything about it". Steve Shannon, just replace our lug nuts that your service technician broke and your service manager agreed to. Steve Shannon, we are claiming no other damages that we are entitled to so just replace our four lug nuts your technician broke.
