It's more than just a store - it's a community. This small co-op in the heart of Mount Airy features organic and conventional produce, fresh baked goods, boxed meals, a second floor with health and beauty products and cleaning supplies, fair trade coffee, and so much more. True, the variety isn't what you'd find at Whole Foods, but the prices are so much better and the atmosphere so non-corporate. You always see people you know, or you get to know the other customers, and the staff (who are lots of fun). There are always announcements posted about what's going on in the community - it's very "grassroots" here. Membership requires 30 dollars and 6 hours of work a year.
PROS: Great local business!
CONS: Shopping is tight when it's busy
