We love going to Tyler. It's a beautiful place to take long walks. My daughter has also taken a week long class there for the past few summers and has loved them. She especially likes the classes on bugs. We have also gone to Pumpkin Days in the past and it's great. Skipped this year because of the weather.

We just discovered Tyler Arboretum this year when we went to see the treehouses. What a wonderful place! Just perfect for children! We have yet to explore all the hiking trails but they are vast and from what I have seen, peaceful and lovely. Be sure to check out the Meadow Maze...fun and educational!

This arboretum is wonderful in that it used to be an elegant estate with numerous planned gardens and outbuildings. There are paved pathways, making it easy to take kids in strollers or older folks with trick knees Many of the trees and plantings are marked with their botanical name. They have a very small gift shop, which is a nice touch. I suggest taking a picnic lunch since there are several places to sit and eat.

We have been going to Tyler for over 25 years and it remains a quiet, peaceful place to hike, smell the flowers and learn something about nature. There is a great plant sale that is held to benefit the arboretum each year. I recommend joining as a member to get the benefits of the newsletters as well. Another benefit of membership is reciprocal visits(free entry) to other places such as the Morris Arboretum.
