I am a returning customer to Karen's Home and Design, and I am simply shocked to read these negative comments. Two years ago, we bought our family room furniture at Karen's. Everything from the reasonable price to the delivery was smooth

After reading the negative comments from customers, I am now not surprised that they fail to pay their vendors. They actually owe an invoice that is 420 days old from a vendor. This vendor has called numerous times the person who is responsible is either never in and she will not return phone calls. It is a shame that they will not pay for services rendered and treat their customers poorly. Have the decency to pay your bills and at least discuss options for payment. No, they run and hide.

My wife and I ordered a lovely sofa from Karen's six weeks ago. The saleswoman who helped us was WONDERFUL! She went out of her way to help us select fabric, etc.
HOWEVER!!!!!!
We were told that this sofa would be in, in 4-6 weeks, unless there is an issue with the fabric being back ordered.
Last week I called to ask if our sofa had arrived, and I was told, quote, "well they usually take 4-8 weeks to arrive." Regardless of the fact that I told her the saleswoman explained that this furniture making company has a good reputation for getting things to Karen's in 4-6 weeks, I was told, "well, it will take 4-8 weeks,.. I don't know why you were told that." When I asked where it was, they told me they didn't know and just to keep waiting.

I call a few days later and I'm told that the girl in "customer service" , quote, "stepped out.." and that she'd be back in "about an hour and a half." She takes my number telling me they'll call me when this girl comes back in that day.
I call back later and I'm told she, quote, "went home sick!" but that I should leave my number and, quote, "she'll call me back." DUH!,... I just did that genius! I tell her, "well, I left my phone number and was told she'd call me, why did I not get a phone call?"
At that point she had no idea what to tell me.

Fast forward to the following week.
We stop in to ask where the sofa was, and were told that I should NOT have been told it would take 4-8 weeks as it very well should have arrived within 6 weeks! I was told that I needed to talk to the girls in "customer service" and that they are only there from 12-5pm, Tuesday-Friday. Four hours a day, four days a week.

Well, I call today, (Tuesday) at 4:10pm and guess what!!! I was now told, "Oh well she (the girl in customer service) went home for the day" WHAT THE??!!! When I tell the girl with whom I am speaking with that she is supposed to be there from 12-5pm tues-friday, I get , "uhhh, welll,... yeah, all I know is she went home." is the answer!!!

Who in the HELL trains these people!!!?? How are their customers who spent several thousand dollars on a sofa supposed to find out where it is, (as we are being told by the saleswoman who sold us the couch that they should tell us where its at) I'm sorry, but if I kept skipping out of my job "early" I'd have a pink slip waiting for me!

So far they have our money, and in return, all we have is a headache from inept, ignorant people who can't seem to be able to figure out how to use the phone and call their customers back, and inquire into where their merchandise is at!!!!!!!!!!!

If I do not get a call back tomorrow and cannot get an answer we're cancelling our order ON THE SPOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE!...

Stopped in two days after NEVER receiving a call as I was PROMISED!!! Supposedly, the fabric was on back order? I was told that it will take another 2 weeks just for the company to build the sofa, another week for the trucking company to get their act together, and so basically 3-4 MORE WEEKS OF WAITING!!!!!!!!!! PLUS!,.... they want to charge me $69 Dollars JUST TO DELIVER IT!!!!! That is INSANE!!!!!!!
No talk of free delivery due to all the crappy service, no call back, and a myriad of blow offs! Wow,.... GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Never will do business with again,...NEVER!!!!!

They're great till they get your money, then the customer service dissipates into thin air!

It is now March 26th,.....nearly two months after this was ordered and now we are being told that the sofa is actually done at the manufacturer's BUT that they are, quote, "Waiting to have the trucking company pick it up"....!!!! I was told this bit of info over two weeks ago,... so this means that for TWO WEEKS my sofa has SAT at the manufacture's!!! They won't call to ask about it going out, nothing,....
Do you think maybe I could get free delivery with all the BS that we've gone though??..... NOPE!!!! Not even that!!!

I could have bought something else,... somewhere else,.. and next time I CERTAINLY WILL!!!!!

Karen's Furniture in Quakertown has everything you need for your home. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Prices are competitive, and they have very good sales too.

My husband and I purchased a head and foot board for our existing bedroom furniture. Karen's matched the color of our old set to the new set exactly. However, when we picked up the rails and bed slats, the manufacturer placed full size rails and slats and marked the cartons king size, which we needed for our bed. A Karen's furniture employee herself delivered a temporary bed frame for us to use until the correct rails come in. The new frame will be delivered and set up at no charge to us. We believe Karen's have done everything possible to resolve this issue. The sales staff has always been friendly and helpful and it's been a pleasure shopping there.

Unhappy consumers have spoken!!! All of the other Pennsylvania locations of Karen's furniture are OUT OF BUSINESS!!!! The Warminster, Allentown and Colmar locations are all now closed. Quakertown is the only PA store that is still open and if unhappy consumers have their way they will close too! Karen's has a poor customer service record. There are complaints filed with the Bet Bus Bur and I personally submitted a complaint to the Attorn Gen. I urge all other unhappy customers to do the same! If the Attorn Gen gets enough complaints about their unethical practices they may take legal action against this company. Let your voice be heard!!!

Karen's furniture Customer Service Department has given me the run around for so long that all I can say is that I will NEVER shop at Karen's furniture again! I also recommend that anyone interested in shopping at their store look up their record at consumer complaint oriented websites!

Buyer Beware Karen's Furniture has an unsatisfactory record online! Check it out for yourself!
I purchased a King Hickory sofa and chair with ottoman for a little over $4000. When someone is willing to pay that much for furniture, they expect LASTING QUALITY! Within a couple of months a throw cushion started coming apart at the seem, the ottoman top cushion that was too large for the base started hanging over on two sides. The base cushions which are supposed to be down wrapped are flat and hanging over the front both pieces of furniture. Karen's has given me the run around about remedying the problems since I contacted King Hickory on my own to convey my disgust at the drop of quality craftsmanship. I already had a set of King Hickory that had to be replaced because of a horrible accident by a professional painter. I have had numerous phone calls unreturned and been treated with a lack of courtesy. I have been given the run around and I would recommend that if you are interested in furniture to go some place else. It seems that the "satisfaction guaranteed" motto is only good for the first 30 days, after that you have to fight for what is right. Check out the unsatisfactory reports at the Bet Bus Bureau and other complaint oriented websites.
