I used Country Companion's reproduction specialists when I bred my Champion Doberman this past year - the office staff was friendly and helpful and the Dr's were caring and professional - and also very good. A surgical implant resulted in 6 healthy puppies.

Pros: great staff

Cons: only that they are a long drive for me

We have one elderly cat (16!), one two year old cat and a two and a half year old dog. We take all of them there and they know each pet when we call and we have felt confident in the standard of knowledge and care. Our elderly cat had senior profile workups and the Dr. took care to call us to follow up on blood test results and her recommendations. I would recommend Country Companion to new patients and their people.

We have 5 animals and have been going to this office since we moved to the area in 2000. They were recommended by a friend who grew up working in his father's veterinary office. The staff take the time to discuss all issues with you, genuinely care about my animals, and have evening and weekend hours so that I can always get an appointment no matter what my schedule. My calls are always returned in a timely fashion, and everyone on the staff greets me with a smile. A very upbeat and user friendly business.

Pros: friendly, vets not rushed with the animals

Dr's are extremely knowledgable and come highly recommended in the repro arena. I have been breeding dogs for many years and was impressed with the staff's expertise. Both Dr Narducci and Dr Gotwals and staff made me feel secure about having my dogs being in their care. I am confused by the first post warning others not to go here. Sounds like maybe they have the wrong hospital?? Country Companion doesnt even have a website that I know of. And not sure why you would expect them to turn away business to another local hospital, when I am sure that they thought that a surgical procedure for the dog was the best way for a successful breeding. Would definately refer others to this hospital.

Cons: Slightly inconvenient drive

I have show dogs and was told that Country Companion did reproductive work. Their website is horrible with no information, when you call the receptionist knows nothing and the Veterinarians are never available to answer any questions. I was told that surgery was the best chance of conception using frozen se men. They did not inform me that a Clinic 10 miles away did non-surgical so I wouldn't have to cut my dog open for insemination. In general I was unhappy with the entire experience to the extent I go out of my way to tell people not to use them in any facet.
