Last year, while in town for a military show, we had the great fortune to stumble upon (quirky/cool) West Reading in general, and Bistro 614 in particular.\r

We both still agree that our (salmon) entrees were the best we've ever

Why don't we have more places like this in Berks County ?

The neighborhood is right. Cozy and eclectic. Okay, this is West Reading But still.... it works.

Bistro 614 defines the new West Reading. The owners are freindly and serious about what they do.

The place is cozy, eclectic (there's that term again), and just feels like a place where you want to spend the evening before you take a nice walk in the neighborhood.

A wonderful little bar with regulars that you can talk the night away with.

An ever-changing art exhibit. Everywhere you look is work by a new young local artist... just this month's mind-you.

The food is just right. Great interesting selection of appetizers.... go for the pan fried goat cheese wrapped in prosciutto. For an entree go for the wonderful crisp duck. Always an interesting fish specialty. And the desserts are homemade.

The wines by the glass are just right and Gene knows tons abut that subject. And your waiters Andy and Rob will make you feel relaxed and right at home. And Mike can educate you about beer if you can only get him out of the kitchen.

Straight-ahead jazz or lounge classics play on the sound system. Outside on the sidewalk is a happening place in the warm weather.

Come here to feel at home and just sop up the atmosphere. Come here with freindsand graze the night away with a good bottle of wine.
