We have taken our cars to Miller Tire and auto in the past as they are nearby our home. We have always
received prompt service and good work. Our only issue was in the expensive
bills we are presented with. I checked pricing on parts they have sold us and their parts prices are generally
2 to 3 times higher than the parts stores. When we first started going there, their bills listed the time actually spent and the labor charge per hour. Now they are simply charging a lump sum for labor which is not itemized. Also adding cost to the bill are the miscellaneous charges that
are added on top of labor charges. These are things such as screws, bolts, fluids, cleaners, fees, etc. On a typical repair, a $100 replacement part will end up costing you about $550 to have repaired at Millers - $250 for the part, $250 for labor and $50 in misc. charges. Our most recent $100 part failure cost us a whopping $800. This repair failed the very next day. When I called them about the problem, they were in no way sympathetic or apologetic, did not accept responsibility and offered no help. This was a sloppy, high-priced repair! At this point, I decided to take it elsewhere. The mechanic was not impressed with the work that had been done and said it looked like it was repaired by a weekend mechanic. Don't expect to get any good deals or bargains here - everything
has a price at Millers. I get the impression that they are overly consumed with profit and less interested in the customer. We are still looking for an honest shop that does quality work and at a fair price.

PROS: convenient location
CONS: very high prices, low quality work.

We started taking our vehicles to Miller's years ago when the parents ran the business. We were always very satisfied. When the son took over, their policies immediately changed (for the worse). Since that time, we have never left there without a $600-1800 bill. One repair for $700 was not authorized by us, but we paid anyhow. One repair was returned 3 times for the same problem. It is still not fixed. It seems any parts that have the slightest defect will require replacement. We also felt taken by all the 'nickel and diming' that shows up on all the bills, such as lubricants, dressings, recycling fees, bolts, etc. I realize these things cost money, but they should be built into the cost of labor, like other businesses do. We have found another service center that does reliable work at very reasonable prices.

PROS: Appears to do quality work.
CONS: Anxious to replace any parts that aren't 100%. Expensive.

When my husband's truck broke down we took it to Miller. They told us they could try to fix it, but that the truck was really on it's last leg. I appreciated their honesty. Now we have a new truck, and we bring that to Miller. They even have a shuttle van so that you can go home while they work on your vehicle, then they come back and pick you up when it is ready.

I have gone to this shop many times over the last 15 years and generally very pleased with the service. The staff is friendly and they can diagnose a problem quickly when you have an emergency. Very trustworthy, family owned shop.
