I've been going to Geoffs for at least 30 years and first visited it as a kid in the 70s when my parents would stop in to pick up some sandwiches and I would get to pick the complimentary sour pickles from the barrel in the center of the store.

Geoff's is unique and is not your run of the mill sandwhich shop. A great selection of unique sandwiches is their claim to fame over the past several decades. There is no comparison

My favorite is the BFS with extra hot sauce. I like it because it has a bit of everything.

If you anticipate a nicely grilled, brown on the outside and warm and melty on the inside, Reuben, you are not going to get it here. Mine arrived on stale bread, a nice amount of (ice cold) corned beef - solid slice of ice cold cheese, cold sauerkraut and ice cold thousand island dressing. I was starving, and I ate it, but it was the worst Reuben I've ever encountered. I blew a ton of calories on that sandwich, which I will have to regret, but I'll get over it. Not sure it worth the money either - a lot of corned beef on stale bread is not what I had in mind for today's lunch. Just wanted to get it off my chest. I called to complain. All I was told was "we heated the corned beef and cheese". NOT! Will not order food from there again unless I get an apology from the manager/owner. HouseAtThePier

They offer reasonably priced sandwiches with an unusual mixture of ingredients, which are absolutely delicious! An added touch is that each sandwich is named after a local celeb. Another trademark, which is not so hot, is that the employees are surly and treat you with disdain, on purpose! Yup. Doesn't seem to make a great deal of business sense, but that's what they do. But the sandwiches make this ideosyncrasy more than bearable.

PROS: Best Sandwiches in RI.
CONS: Stage surly treatment of customers.

The pickle barrel was a nice touch, but in general, I wasn't overly impressed with the sandwiches.
