The people have spoken, "The Brink" is the best spot in Newport. I grew up in the area, started every summer night before the bars at this spot. What every you get you will not be let down. The bartender's are great, and not cheap on the drink. It's a place for anyone. The insider is very original, like you nothing you have ever seen, it's like a real life Cheers.

Pros: THE food the Service

Cons: busy all the time

Restaurant was trendy and was packed on a Thursday night in the off-season. Had to wait 45 minutes for a table at 7PM but it was worth it. The ambience was that of a upscale sports bar. Filet was excellent and the wife enjoyed the bottomless salad bar which also came with my meal. Good wine selection and service was excellent. Seems to be a favorite amoung the locals as well as tourists.

We especially enjoy dining on the deck in summer. But if you have to eat inside, it's still a great place for lunch or dinner. As with everything in Newport, parking can be a problem, but it's worth the struggle or extra walk.

We got lucky and found a parking space right in front of Brick Alley. Not know anything about it except the awards posted by the front door, we took a chance and were very happy with our lunch. My husband's steak and cheese sandwich was huge and very good, I chose the Buffalo chicken pizza and this was wonderful, just really tasty. My sister picked the club sandwich and it was very generous too. Can't wait to go back and try the dinner options sometime. Our server was pleasant and refilled drinks right way - nice. The salad bar looked good. Bathrooms were spotless, which is one of my criteria for a top rating.

Pros: Good food, great portions, friendly staff who looked like they enjoy working there

Cons: parking (its Newport after all), not much else!

.

Everyyear I have gone there and have not been disappointed yet. The food is great, the staff friendly. If you have never been you need to go. I highly recommend it. It is easy to get to although at times finding a parking spot could be a challenge.

The appetizers are excellent and so is the steak au poivre (which you can have on whatever cut you'd like if you ask - I chose the rib eye, YUM). Your entree includes the salad bar which is great too. The Pub is very busy but it is worth the visit. If you have the appetite (so much food!) and can take the time to relax and enjoy the evening, this is the place to go. Have one of their signature drinks. They also sell their hot sauces to take home if you like.

Pros: Great food

Great place to take friends and family, the only problem is there can be long waits, depending on what time you go. It never seems to be as long as they say, but you can wait in the bar. Everyone seems to love the salad bar, and the hamburger is always a good choice. The menu is extensive, from sandwiches, pasta, steak to pizza. The service is usually very good (our favorite waitress is Sue S.)

Great Place! Been here many times on my trips to Newport and manage always to find something new to try. They have a great selection and something for almost everyone, including the kids. The food is plentiful, well prepared and always delicious. My experiences with service have been great as well, the waiters and waitresses are always very personable and well trained. Very cool atmosphere with alot of memorabilia and other antiques. A lot of local Newport culture and history is on the walls! Just a great place to bring a family or get a drink, sometimes there is a wait, but there is plenty of shopping around the area to do in the mean time.

Pros: Large Selection, Great Atmosphere, Great service

Cons: Longer wait?

The Brick Alley Pub is over rated. Their food is just okay. I dont see why people wait in line to eat there. The only thing is they have great drinks! But i would rather go somewhere else to eat.

Brick Alley Pub is absolutely the best place to eat in Newport. The menu has something for everyone, and the salad bar is spectacular. We love to pig out on salad and bring our meals home for later!

The staff here was very rude, espectially the hostess. It's SAD THAT SOME TOP RATED PLACES forget that the way they got there was by being courteous to the customers !!! DON'T GO HERE.... there are many other fine restaurants in Newport that will treat you, the customer, properly !!!

The Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant is one of the most magnificent locations to have lunch or dinner. If your not hungry but desire a great atmosphere to relax with your friends while enjoying your favorite beverage then look no further! After checking out the local area of downtown Newport one can not ask for a more relaxing area than the semi-enclosed deck behind the pub. Kick back in an easy chair and let the afternoon float away!

Still, the best French Onion Soup. Our first visit was 20 years ago, and the place is still great. Not too trendy, and not too pricey, considering that this is Newport
