There is nothing good to say about the food on my visit to Carrie's the waitress was actually pretty good. She even warned me about a dish that people have complained about! Everything was flavorless, over cooked and like rubber. I started to feel ill @ 20 min after eating the clams which were put in the microwave. This is the first time I can remember that I did not not even want to finish my food

The hospitality and service my wife and I received at Carrie's was awesome! When we arrived we had no idea what to expect since we are from Chicago and we were referred to Carrie's by a store right down the road. We were just looking for an affordable place to enjoy some fresh seafood, but after talking to a local couple that were there celebrating their 40th anniversary we knew we had to be at the right place. As we were talking to the couple the waitress brought out 2 massive 3lb lobsters to a table and I nearly fainted, seriously. Thinking they had to easily be over $100.00 for a stuffed lobster I had to ask the couple next to us. They said in Boston it would easily be that or more, but at Carrie's they were $48.99. At that point I knew I was getting the lobster, but we wanted to start with an appetizer. We selected the mussels and they were amazing. They came stacked high in a white wine butter sauce with a hint of garlic for under $8 dollars. My wife decided on the seafood pie which was under $18. Her pie was filled with sole, scallops, shrimp, and calms. It was just beautiful displayed and tasted incredible. My 3lb lobster was better than advertised stuffed with all the above and Carrie's special seafood stuffing. To simply put, my wife and I were highly impressed with every aspect of Carrie's Seafood Restaurant and recommend them for diners in all price ranges since it was outstanding seafood for an extremely reasonable price.

Absolutely, the worst dinning experience my friends and I have had visiting RI. We had come
down from Boston to see a friend graduate from Brown University and later we all went to Carrie's
to try this place out, before returning home. Two
of my buddys had baked fish and the rest of us
had lobster. We had to tell our waitress twice that the silverware was dirty-still had crusty food on it and to please replace it. Rather than apologizing for the dirty spoons & forks, she
just "rolled her eyes" at us, like we were putting her out & returned 5 minutes later with clean silverware. I asked her what took her so long to walk less than 10 feet to get us new silverware and she snicked she had other customers to wait on....OMG!!!! Anyway, less than 30 minutes after two of our girlfriends had eaten their fish dinners, both became very sick. One of them "through-up" at the table & the other gurl was complaining of stomach pains. We decided to leave and get the girls medical attention, we paid our bill, which by-the-way, was over $100.00 and my buddy Steve complained to the owner.that the fish was bad.
Her attitude (the owner) was "testy" to say the least and then the Chef came out and got angry with us & told us we were causing a scene and to leave. We told both the Owner and the Chef our friends were ill from fish meals and this time the Chef yelled at us to leave or he'd call the Police. We left and took the girls to a hospital and we're waiting on the test results, but the doctors thought it was food poisening. It's Memorial Day today, so State Health Dept. closed, but tomorrow we're pressing charges against this restaurant with the authorities. This place should be shut down permanently!!

This place is great! The service is awesome, everyone is very friendly and prompt. The place is very comfortable with lit candles on each table. On weekends there can be a little wait but for the excellent food it is well worth the wait. The prices were average to high, the quality of the food and service were above average.. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Pros: Great food

Cons: Hmm, lobster is pricey but so good!

My wife and I dined at this restaurant recently and we both ordered their steamed clams and scrod. My wife
noticed the scrod had tiny "live" worms in the flesh of the fish. I called the chef over to our table and complained. The chef told us that worms in fish were a normal and safe, but if we wished to change
our meal selection, we could. In the mean-while, I noticed my wife was becoming increasingly ill from
eating the clams ( She's not alergic to clams) and her face was turning white. I complained to the female
owner of our problems with their foods and the owner's reaction was and I quote, "If you don't like our food-
get out"! I had told her I was going to file a complaint with the Providence Health Dept. After we left, I took
my wife to the Miriam Hospital, where she was treated seafood sickness. It's unfortunate,
that this type of restaurant continues to be allowed an operating food licience and the Providence Health
Inspectors have chosen to ignor our complaints. I suspect someone has been "paid-off"!
