My daughter bought her wedding gown and bridesmaids dresses here. The service here was remarkable. Today, most people don't know what good service is. Most stores I have gone into have had us try dresses on ourselves with no guidance as to style and fit. Remember, this is the most important dress you will ever select and it is important that a knowledgeable person help you select it.
Linda was extremely helpful and helped select a wedding gown that would be flattering to my daughter. The gown selected was one that my daughter would never had tried but because Linda knew her styles and stock, she knew the dress would be great for her. The dress was just lovely and the bridesmaids were complimentary too. I would have given 5 stars but we were disappointed because there was no one there to do alterations due to illness. We would have liked to have had the alterations done on the premises. But, if you are looking for service and someone who will help you with your selection, then try House of Brides.

I generally don't go out of my way to write negative reviews but feel in this instance it's warranted. I've waiting almost a year to write a review because I've been so worked up about the whole situation.

Bought my wedding dress, everyone was very pleasant on the day of my purchase however I was surprised to find out I was required to pay in full that day. The women next to me was there to make a payment for her wedding dress and said she would pay the balance when she picked it up, however for me they said i had to pay the full price. That seemed fishy to me, but I wanted the dress so went ahead and paid. I was told not to purchase shoes over 2.5inches tall or else the dress would be too short.

I was told I had to expedite the dress, order a special size so it wouldn't be too long and also pay to expedite delivery of a ribbon I wanted changed. I was never called when the dress arrived, I called several times to check on it. At my first fitting it was several inches too long, I was told they had ordered me a special length and they wanted to know why. I had no clue what they were talking about especially after I was instructed to not buy shoes over 2.5 inches high, I had 3 inch heels on and it was still several inches too long. The ribbon I had expedited was still not there 60 days later. It didn't show up until one week before the wedding. No explanation as to why the delay and no refund of expedite fee. On the second fitting the dress was still way too big and there was an issue with one of our bridesmaid dresses being too small. The owner was extremely rude to my bridesmaid and made rude comments to me about it as well.

I was able to deal with all of this without flipping out until they told me that i could not try on my dress again EVER, until the day of my wedding AND they still hadn't received or added on the ribbon that was supposedly expedited, and the dress still fit very poorly but that I still had to pay for the alterations in full on that day. Why would anyone agree to that, I could have shown up on my wedding day and the dress could have not fit and there would have been nothing I could have done about it! I told them I would take my chances and find someone else to alter the dress.

I'm so glad I did, I paid 150 less to get it altered and the fit was impeccable AND i got to try it on before my wedding day.

I will say the other staff at the house of brides were very nice and seemed generally sorry that i was visibly upset however the owner was nothing but rude to me the entire time. Im a bride standing in front of you crying and you can't even muster up an "I'm sorry your upset?" If your going to run a business that's based on customer service, especially a bridal business this is not the way you treat your customers. I think they get most of their business because it's a small town and there's no where else to go. Again I do NOT recommend.

I had been looking for prom dresses for months and could not find one dress I would even consider wearing. My grandmother had told me about the House of Brides. I made an appointment. The staff was really friendly, and helpful. The dress I thought was ugly on the hanger, was so beautiful on me. Through out the whole process the House of Brides was helpful. I ended up making the Queen at the Prom, because of my dress. The prices were not outragous. They ask what your price range is and exactly what you are looking for. I will be going to the House of Brides for my wedding dress.
