Based on my experiences with them, I would definitely call on Compustation again. I'd had an issue with my fussy Dell laptop's power jack, a problem that I'd been told by techie friends (and backed up by my own research) was a motherboard issue and that I'd be better off giving up and buying a new computer. I called Compustation hoping for a better prognosis and was immediately impressed with the honesty of the representative I spoke with - he told me right off the bat that there was just a 50/50 chance they could find a cheaper solution than a motherboard replacement, but that he'd be willing to try if I wanted. While at times I did wish for more proactive updates on what was going on - they did have my computer for a little longer than I'd really expected - in the end it was far more than worth the wait. In fact, after ordering the necessary part and meeting no success in an initial attempt at resolving the issue, they took the extra effort to try again - despite having already phoned me to say the repair was unfortunately unsuccessful - and managed to get things working after all. Compustation's honesty, friendliness, and more-than competitive rates left me feeling highly positive about them, and indeed I'm currently writing this from the laptop they fixed despite a number of difficulties (a laptop I was about ready to give up on!). I'd happily recommend them to anybody who needed responsible, reasonably-priced, and effective computer repair.
