I have been getting the run-around with this medical office. I call the number and it leads to Palmetto Medical Center and they tell me Oaktree has closed its doors and was then told that the doctors that were at Oaktree have gone to other practices. I call the # for medical records from Oaktree (because I was never notified about the move/closing) and was told, in a very rude and non-caring manner, that Oaktree hasn't closed they've just moved. I was then transferred to someone at medical records only to have to leave a message. What is the deal?

I recently relocated to Greenville, SC and had no family physician or recommendations for a good one. I researched the preferred providers of my insurance company online an made an appointment with Oaktree. As a new patient, I was unsure what to expect. I have to tell you, I was absolutely impressed with the Physician's Assistant, Sital Patel. She was very thorough with the exam, has a wonderful disposition and genuinely seems to care a great deal for her patients. I was NOT looking forward to trying to find a good family doctor, but I could not have asked for a better experience. Even the nurse who checked my vitals was great. In all honesty, the staff in the office did not seem overly friendly or helpful, but overall I highly recommend Oaktree Medical Centre.

I became a patient at Oaktree Medical Center last year at the suggestion of a friend who had seen one of their doctors in the past and highly recommended her. Unfortunately, soon after I was being treated for the skin infection I had, the doctor packed up and left, and I was left to choose from the two others that were available. During this time the infection apparently went into my bloodstream, and I ended up being diagnosed with double pneumonia in the lower lobes of both lungs. Though they treated me with oral antibiotics for the pneumonia, with each office visit, my condition worsened, and I was bounced back and forth from provider to provider, until I was finally so sick I ended up having to spend five days in the hospital on numerous IV drugs to cure the pneumonia. Fifteen months later (just this past week), I began to feel a tightness in the right side of my chest, along with the symptoms of a flu-like illness. I visited Oaktree again, where the provider who treated me diagnosed me with acute bronchitis caused by a viral infection, and prescribed me amoxicillin to combat any possible bacterial infection, because of the history of the double pneumonia. After two days on the antibiotics, I called Oaktree back to tell them my sputum was thicker and more opaque, and I was not feeling any stronger, and I was told by the nurse who called back that the doctor said I was "probably okay", and to be patient and wait the illness out. I should mention that I was told up front by the appointment taker that the doctor who had treated me had no openings that day, but I could talk to the nurse to see if they could "squeeze me in." Two days after that, I called again to say that this time my sputum was even thicker and colored, and that I was feeling very tired, short of breath, and my chest was gurgling when I breathed. This was on a Friday afternoon around 3:30, after I debated back and forth for hours about whether I should call again and risk being told I shouldn't come in. This time the nurse who called back acted very unconcerned, almost as if she thought I were just being a baby, and stated, "Ma'am, you are on amoxicillin. That is what it's for, to kill the infection. It's only been five days. You have to give it time to work." That night I began coughing up tan colored sputum tinged with blood and I knew I had to quit fooling around. The next morning, I immediately visited the urgent treatment center down the street and received a chest x-ray, which confirmed my suspicions; I had mild infiltrate going down into the middle lobe of my right lung. This doctor prescribed me Avalox, which I have been taking for two days, and finally I am beginning to feel better! If I had "waited it out", as the staff at Oaktree had wanted me to do, I would have surely ended up back in the hospital, or worse! I would not recommend these providers to anyone who is truly sick! Not only will you receive 0 compassion, but you might run the risk of being misdiagnosed or mistreated when your life depends on it.

This practice location has no handicapped accessibility which means that not only if your wheel chair bound you cant get into this practice but if you also have a stroller your not able to take this in either. The waiting room has nothing for children to do.
