Maybe Gordon Ramsay could drop by and yell at these people, Broiled fish isn't broiled here, the Salad is without chicken you can see.

Fried Fish, you'll get bigger by the minuet food is the specialty of the House.

Cheap and filling, is sometimes needed, so drop by

My wife and I have been to many restaurants in Columbia. Ocean View is one of the best in South Carolina. You might get better service and ambiance, but the food is great and the price too low.

To the guy and his wife who went to this establishment, where the hell did ya think you were going some fine seafood resturant? Dumbass! You get what you pay for so if you and your wife want some fine seafood cuisine go to Red Lobster and stop being a cheap ass! Oceanview was really good when I went there. Go to Red Lobster!!!

My wife and I attended this establishment on Sunday, April 19th, 2009 at 4:30. We were hoping to get something semi-healthy such as grilled or broiled fish, etc.

Upon entering the building, we noticed a huge waterfall decoration to give the feel of being near the ocean. It was nice, except for the fact that you have to yell back and forth to the hostess.

It also doesn't help when the hostess has a mouth full of bubble gum and can't understand anything she is saying.

We were promptly seated and found the decor nice, but too Captain D'ish. Our waitress, Jane, greeted us quick and got our drink order. As I opened up the menu, I quickly became bombarded with fried foods throughout the entire menu. There was a tiny section for "broiled" food.

Because the seafood looked little to desire for according to the menu, I opted for a Marinated Chicken Salad and my wife opted for the Broiled Grouper.

As I gave my order to the waitress, she quickly asked, "Oh, how much is that salad?" which struck me very weird as she should know more about her menu that she is selling to me than I.

The food arrived quickly along with our check at the same time. The "Broiled" Grouper was not broiled but instead pan-seared in butter. Any true Broiled or Grilled fish does not excrete a yellow oil(butter).

My Marinated Chicken Salad was not desirable at all. It arrived to the table with 3 containers of dressing and 10 crackers. All of that for about 3 oz. of chicken and about 2 cups of veggies. First, the chicken had been pre-cooked at least a day or so before it was put onto my salad. The consistency was very much like a pork chop. The taste was there, but I do not like eating seasoned rubber. Secondly, the greens, tomatoes, red onions and cucumbers were warm. This made for the salad to taste fishy like the salad had been sitting previously beside a lot of uncooked fish. My first bite of salad was not a good one at all nor were any others.

After a ghastly meal, we head up to the cash register only to find another staff member with a mouth full of candy. I had to ask her to repeat herself many times before I could understand what she was asking.

I did not complain to the staff simply because I did not want a free meal. I am not out to get free meals every time something is wrong with my food. I simply hope that the staff and management read my review and take it as constructive criticism.
