Dr. Basinger and Dr. Suber have operated on several of our family's pets and several rescues. From a compound leg fracture requiring a plate and a broken hip socket to back surgeries, they have treated these babies with the utmost care and simply outstanding medical care/surgeries. I have never hesitated about about agreeing to any procedure recommended by these very talented surgeons. Absolutely no regrets. They are simply the best. If there ever comes a time I move out of state, I will still travel to SCSRS for any non-spay/neuter surgical procedure.

Believe it or not, since I stumbled across this web site. I'm writing this review about sixteen years after Dr. Basinger reparied my dog's torn cruciate ligament. All the knee ligaments were ripped to pieces in a car accident. Dr. Basinger replaced it all (with nylon, I think) and it lasted my dog's entire life. He died in May at the age of 17 and a half, and he never had problems with his knee until arthritis set in near the very end. Dr. Basinger gave my dog a new life, and I'll always be grateful. After his recovery, he was jumping five-foot fences just as before. He was the most incredible jumper I've ever seen, both before and after his surgery. At the time of the surgery I was a poor student and Dr. Basinger was very nice about accepting payment from me in installments. If you need a surgeon, go to Dr. Basinger.

Dr. Basinger is an outstanding surgeon. My Border Collie mix had TPLO surgery in April of '07. I was given a quote up front, and it did not exceed that price at all. My dog had absolutely no complications thanks to Dr. Basinger's surgical ability and the wonderful care his clinic provided. The therapist took a whole hour to show me how to do my dog's physical therapy exercises. I would recommend them in a heartbeat!

My Gt. Pyrenees had a torn cruciate ligament and Dr. Basinger performed TPLO surgery on his right hind knee. My dog is healing just fine, and we are very pleased with the outcome. Dr. Basinger is caring and competent, as is the rest of the staff at the Surgical Referral Service. We were told up front what the cost would be, and there were no surprises.

The other review on file surprises me a lot. This clinic gave me a specific amount for the surgery but we knew what was to be done. I could see where exploratory surgery might be an uncertain price, but my experience was very positive. Staff was very pleasant & understanding of my time because I had to drive an hour to reach them.

Inability to provide a potential customer any rough estimate at all. They stated that you would find out after performing the said procedure. Incompetant.
