Middleton Place is one of the best plantations to vist in Charleston, especially in February and March when all of the various flowers in the garden or in bloom. But at any time, the house, stableyards, African-American tour, carriage ride, and the Middleton Place restaurant are all excellent. We enjoyed all aspects of this beautifully preserved plantation, and were impressed by the high quality of food served at the restaurant. I highly recommend a visit if you are interested in enjoying serenity, beauty, and a trip back in time.

PROS: Beautiful, excellent restaurant
CONS: None

Middleton Place is a must see for tourists visiting the Charleston area.

Middleton Place is seeped in history and is a nature lover's delight. There are numerous species of birds on the property and it's a wonderful place to relax.

The gardens are stunning, particularly in Spring, making Middleton Place also popular with the locals. There's ample parking and plenty of room to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Prices are a bit high but well worth the experience. It pays to check with the Chamber of Commerce before visiting as the winter specials can save you a lot of money on your visits to Middleton Place.

Middleton Place is a fantastic place to visit in Charleston. You will be amazed at all the displays and history tour items to see. The gardens are impressive and can take a day just to walk through them. You can see many birds, heron, etc. from the plantation grounds. There are plenty of places to sit down on a bench and just watch nature. Bring your binoculars. Parking is easy and on the property. It is slightly on the expensive side for a family but it is worth the admission to see this at least one time. For locals, in Jan. you can buy a ticket from the tourism dept. in downtown Charleston that will get you in this and other sites for a greatly reduced fee. We're local and that's what we do.

PROS: A plantation back in time!
