I'll start by simply stating that opinions are like buttholes...everybody's got one. Whether mine is helpful or not is not for me to say but I can say that Dr. Andy is on speed-dial in my house. I have adopted many shelter animals through the years and I do know that Dr. Andy is the vet that Oconee Humane Society uses however they do NOT require new owners to use him as well. He is the best and I have been to several in Pickens, Anderson, and Oconee Counties. Being a resident of Pickens county I did decide at one point to try and find a vet for my babies closer to home. All I found was a good many money hungry, uncaring quote unquote "hospitals". So I went back and have never been more happy. I find comfort in knowing that I can call with any question and find a staff member more than happy to help me. My lexy loves to go see Dr. Andy and it is never an ordeal. Obviously money is an important factor for me but not to the point of neglecting neccessary care for my babies. He has always worked with me which is more than I can say for those "standard office visit $59" places. He and his staff are wonderful. And if you happen to catch him or one of them being a little less than perfectly polite perhaps you should pause and realize that EVERYONE has a bad day!!!

Dr Holland is a great veterinarian! My animals have been going to him forever. I have never had to make an appointment unless it was for a surgery, otherwise I walk right in and am seen within an acceptable amount of time. My 14 year old cat was hurt last year and instead of having to wait I was quickly put into a room, one because I was quite overwhelmed. But Dr Holland checked him over, assessed the situation, took care of my baby and sent me on my way telling me how to apply the antibiotics, etc. I have no complaints on the staff either because they are all so kind and helpful. I have NEVER once felt like someone was being rude to me. But judging by some of these reviews, I guess I just seem to catch em on their good days :)

I used Andy Holland for many years until moving to Florida. With 6 cats and 4 dogs, kept him and his staff busy. No matter what the problem was, they were there for my pets, 24/7. Since moving to Florida, found it hard to find someone like him that actually cares for my pets and not the money. Wish I could have moved him and his staff here with me!

Well, my first impression of the staff was that she was rude, several times that I called there she sounded rude until she knew who I was and she lightened up.
I like Dr. Holland, I thought he was more a country vet that knew his stuff and I'm sure he does. But my dog that I took there to have an emergency C-Section, came back home same day. She had a bandage on her leg that I thought was just a bandage where they took the IV out and to cover up the spot.
I had to go out of town on business for a week, returned home and went to remove the bandage and the IV was still in her leg. It was a small soft plastic thing but still shouldnt have been there. It had festered up some but with the antibiotics she was on we got lucky and it wasnt worse. I called to tell them about this so they would be more cautious next time, her reasoning was he left it in in case she needed more fluids. Yet they didnt tell me it was there and she didnt need more fluids??? Instead of saying it was a mistake, she made something up, never offered for me to bring her in to look at her or to offer antibiotics!.
Yes he was busy, I told him if he didnt have time I'd go somewhere else. Of course he didnt wont me to go anywhere else, he made 600 in less than an hour. Threw the puppies at me and gave me a bill. Didnt even tell me when the stitches should come out.
Anyway, they charged me 600 for the surgery and nothing for hurting my dogs leg. You would think with the looks of his office he wouldnt have much overhead and would charge less.
Really disappointed in Dr Holland and the lady that answers his phone, she just bold face lied.
I think he needs to hire new help.
I will not be using them again.

Still waiting on the outcome of this one, but the attitude of whoever we spoke to on the phone was "oh well it's a shelter cat." I was not impressed with that.

I don't know what some of you are complaining about, a botched surgery? I'll be the first to tell you that Dr. Holland does not botch a surgery. In fact, he is the only vet that will spay shelter pets in the county. He does more surgeries daily than probably any vet in the state!! Sometimes dogs chew their stitches, or the OWNERS are not allowing their dog the appropriate time to heal before exercise. And whoever complained about parvo, it sounds to me that they really are concerned about transmission to your pet and it has nothing to do with their sanitation. Outbreaks of parvo are serious and it sounds to me that they are looking out for your pet and making you aware. This vet is one of the most dedicated and caring individuals in the business and he doesn't gouge his customers like so many other vets do. As far as staff, maybe he needs to make a change, but the good Doc Holland is one of the best around.

After adopting from the local shelter, this is where they sent our dog to be neutered. The lady that works the front desk is not only rude, but she acts like she's too busy to even answer a question! My dog had an open wound on his leg, and when I took him by there, she took one look, said, "that won't heal up unless he stops licking it," and walked out of the lobby. No suggestions, etc. Also, the place really STINKS. They should use a better deodorizer.

we have used the oconee veterinary clinic for over two decades..Dr. Andy Holland is a tireless worker. and very caring about the animals and has given us sound advice for many situations we have run across....I understand that with all the 1000's of interactions he has had with so many animals in whatever shape they end up in..day after day....emergency after emergency....there may be a mistake...we are totally satisfied with his no frills approach to animal care...I love his staff grumpy happy or not...they work tirelessly also, and I'm sure they have seen all kinds of tragic as well as triumphant outcomes....glad they are in our neighborhood. thank you.

When we adopted a dog from the local shelter I was told they use Andy Holland and we could not use our vet to spay her. Within 1 week after she was spayed our dog had a hernia due to a botched up operation. You would think something as simple as spaying a dog would be done correctly by a vet who has been in the business for years. She also had an eye infection and worms (which the paperwork from OVC stated she had been treated for). I would not recommend nor trust the services of Andy Holland.

We used Dr. Holland for years. We were always very satisfied with Dr. Holland. Unlike most vets he seems to be more interested in the care of the animal as opposed to the money that he can fleece out of you. When our family moved to florida I took a cat with an ear infection to the vet, the cost was well over $200 and the infection never cleared up. Dr. Holland took care of several of our dogs and cats over night for various illnesses and the cost was never more than $100 and he always resolved the issue. True the staff is not very friendly but Dr. Holland more than makes up for it.

This is our second bad experience w/this clinic. We adopted a dog last week and when we picked her up there on Thursday, the lady had so much to do I hated to bother her with all my questions. Called back this morning because our dog has kennel cough and really do not want to have to talk to them anymore.

We will no longer use this vet. Most of the staff is rude, judgemental, and are NOT concerned about the welfare of your pets. The staff that is somewhat caring will tell you to be real careful about bringing your pet there because they have been dealing with Parvo Virus. I understand why, too. The place is not that clean.

One of our cats was run over and we weren't sure he was going to make it. We took him to Oconee Veterinary Clinic and Andy (the vet) helped pull him through. The Clinic is really nice and the vet assistants are patient and loving with your pet. Andy is good about follow-up care and he explains what's happening and what you need to do.
