I love Anne, the groomer at Wescott Acres. I have an eleven-year-old shetland sheepdog who is not an easy dog to groom - he hates having his feet handled and will snap and struggle during nail trims. When we've tried taking him to a "big box" store for grooming, he has always left traumatized, sore, unevenly trimmed, and with a ton of additional charges for the extra time it took to work on him. Anne took her time with him, followed what I wanted done exactly, and he left happy and looking amazing!
They might do an additional charge for dogs who are heavily matted or who bite, but I don't mind since I know Anne is using that time to make grooming as pleasant as possible for the dog. Plus, the charges are far less than what I was getting at other places, where I was frequently being hit with over $25 in up-charges for my medium sized dog with a simple cut. One of the things I also like is that you can leave your phone number and if the groomer has any questions or encounters any problems while grooming your dog, they can give you a call and get further instructions, so you don't have any unpleasant surprises when you pick up your dog.
Since Wescott Acres is also a boarding facility, he didn't have to sit in a crate all day after getting groomed, but was able to wait in one of the resort's many rooms with bedding and water until I could take him home.
In the interest of full disclosure, I am an employee at Wescott Acres, but can honestly say that even if I wasn't, I'd still be taking my dog there for grooming. My boy's well-being comes first, and I am very particular when it comes to him. The negative grooming review on here is about a groomer that no longer works for us - come give our current groomers a try!

I have a Boxer that is now 1 yr old, he has been going to Wescott Acres since he was 4 month old. The staff/caretakers are animal lovers... very passionate about taking care of your pet . The facility is very clean, your pet is in Excellent hands. The staff works very hard to please their customers, are very knowledgeable as well as professional. Ms Laura the owner hires compassionate animal lovers to make sure yours and mine pet is well taking care of!! I have been to other Daycares where your pet sits in a Kennel all day.. Wescott is a five Star Luxury Resort for our Pets!!! I won't take my pet no where else but here!!! keep up the Great Job!!!
We Love you

I boarded my five precious dogs. I was happy with the boarding, they do care well for pets. The grooming services were heinous and the owner would not respond when I contacted her for an explanation. The groomer did not do what I asked. She gave my Pekingese dogs scissor cuts which were uneven. Then, she shaved my Pomeranian bald! I would never use them again nor recommend them..

I just moved here and was worried about finding a quality place to board my dogs. After visiting several different facilities, I knew Wescott Acres was the best choice. It smelled great and was clean. While most pet resorts I looked at had only cages for dogs, I had options with Wescott Acres. My dogs stayed in the cageless Luxury suites and had a great time. They had their own toddler bed, tv and most importantly, genuine personal attention. I didn't worry about them because I knew they were in good hands. The staff didn't think I was weird for calling to check on my dogs and I really felt like the staff got to know them. My dogs had fun with extra walks, baths and grooming treatments. I was even pleased to hear that Wescott Acres rescues animals, which shows how very special this place is. They really care, when so many don't. I loved the staff and they loved my dogs. A true one of a kind. A gem in the middle of Columbia!

We started using Wescott Acres for grooming our dog after several establishments did a terrible job on our dog's grooming. This place is great! I don't have to tell them what I need done to my dog each time we go there. They keep it in their computer. One time they forgot to clip his nails, but fixed it quickly. Their prices are great compared to what I paid at many other places.
We have yet to board our dog there, but plan to next time we travel. I have toured the location to see the accomodations for boarding. They have luxury rooms with real human beds and televisions. They also have nice sized pens for a much cheaper rate. What I like best is that they have a covered outdoor area for dogs that can climb fences, like mine.
PROS: Competitively priced, excellent quality of work
CONS: It can take a while to get your dog back
