We dine at Melting Pot about twice a month with our friends and family. This week we were charged $7.50 for ice and told by the server he was going to divide the cheese into two pots so the kids did not have to reach. We were charged for two large cheese dishes. Nothing was done to fix this and the Asst Manager explained to me that it is corporate policy.

So much for loyal customers!

I've been several times. Good for either romantic dinner (plan on 1.5 to 2 hours) or a large group (plan on more time.) Restaurant especially good for special occasions. Management goes out of their way to wish you a good celebration. They also offer roses at pretty good prices that they will have on your table when you ge there. I am in the business and really feel that they appreciate us coming in.

I highly recommend.

Pros: Atmosphere, no rushing, service

Cons: price

This is a romantic and cozy restuarant. It is expensive ($25+ a person), but you are paying for a unique dinning experience.

The tables are designed for 2-6 people. Do not bring large parties unless you are comfortable with the idea that you will not all be sitting together. Also LEAVE THE KIDDIES AT HOME. This is not for children, get a baby sitter. It is a fondu, this means skewers, hot metal, and boiling water.

I have been here several times and have never been dissappointed by the service or the food.

(I recommend the 3-cheese blend)

I have had to edit a few things out due to space constraint, but I will update this review if any actions are taken to correct our situation.
This was our very first experience with your company, and I am sad to say, likely our last. First, we had a party of 13, and were seated at separate counter height tables that seated six people each. We requested lower tables, as several people in our party have physical conditions that make sitting up high like this uncomfortable. We had a single child in our party, who we made mention of at the time of our reservation, and also noted her age. There was not even a place to seat her at the tables, and the chairs were not safe for a three year old child to sit in unassisted. We were brought a regular height highchair, and considering how ridiculous the idea was, with her a few feet away from the surface of the table, her father ended up trying to eat with her in his lap.

Our server, "Jen" was only present at our tables to deliver the separate courses. She reviewed menu choices and cooking instructions hurriedly and was quite rude.

I literally cannot count the number of times that our individual water, tea, and sprite glasses remained empty for 5-10 minutes at a time. The last time my husband requested a refill of tea, our waitress poured and left tea that barely had a tint of color in the glass. Two separate times the burners on our table were turned off. We could not get our food to cook, and as a result our lobster and shrimp were either undercooked, or overdone and rubbery, our chicken pieces were dry, and not eatable. This happened again when desert was served.

If this is the quality of service that your establishment provides, I will most certainly inform anyone who asks of our horrible service. There are many more places in Greenville to have this type of dining environment in which service meets or exceeds expectations. These are the places I frequent with my presence, my money, and my praise.

Pros: An attempt at a higher scale dining establishment

Cons: This attempt fails all points other than atmosphere

For my review, I will just paste the email I sent through their website. I am hoping that this establishment will redeem itself with at the very least an apology for our evening. I will update this review if any actions are taken to correct our situation...

I would like to inform The Melting Pot of the poor quality, substandard service we received in your Greenville SC establishment this evening. This was our very first experience with your company, and I am sad to say, likely our last. First, we had a party of 13, and were seated at TWO separate counter height tables that only seated six people each. We requested lower tables, as several people in our party have physical conditions that make sitting "perched" that high quite uncomfortable, and as it was my sister-in-law's birthday we were celebrating, we all wished to be seated with her, in her company. We had a single child in our party, who we made mention of at the time of our reservation, and also noted her age. We requested a highchair for her, because there was not even a place to seat her at the tables, and the chairs were not safe for a three year old child to sit in unassisted. We were brought a regular height highchair, and considering how ridiculous the idea was that our niece should be treated this way, with her seat more than a few feet away from the surface of the table, her father ended up trying to eat with her in his lap. We had no other choice. Our server, "Jen" was only present at our tables to deliver the separate courses. She reviewed menu choices and cooking instructions hurriedly and her attitude seemed curt when all of our empty glasses were brought to her attention.

I literally cannot count the number of times that our individual water, tea, and sprite glasses remained empty for 5-10 minutes at a time. The last time my husband requested a refill of tea, our waitress poured and left tea that barely had a tint of color in the glass.

Also, two separate times our burners on our table was turned off. We could not get our food to cook, and as a result our lobster and shrimp were either undercooked, or overdone and rubbery, our chicken pieces were dry, and not eatable. We asked another lady who came to the table if our pots should be steaming like they were at the table the rest of our party was seated at. She checked the burners and said "Oh, they are turned to -off- for some reason." and turned them back on. This happened again when desert was served.

If this is the quality of service that your establishments routinely provide for the price point which you charge, I will never schedule any more special events with your company, and I will most certainly inform anyone who asks of our horrible service and discourage anyone who mentions eating at your restaurant. There are many more places in Greenville to have this type of dining environment in which service meets or exceeds expectations. These are the places I frequent with my presence, my money, and my praise.

For reference, the table number listed on my check is **/*, the time listed is 8:13 PM, and the approval code for my payment is ******.
Please inform me of any actions taken to correct our substandard service with resulted in a very unpleasant evening and a disappointing birthday for my sister-in-law and her family.

It is more expensive, but the food and atmostphere are wonderful. It's a very cozy environment, and they have great wines. Make reservations, and prepare to pay for good food!

Dining at the melting pot is an experience that you will most certainly enjoy. Don't expect to get out of there without spending at least $100-$150, but it is a wonderful dining atmosphere. The restaurant is quaint, and you can really enjoy it with parties from 2-10. The tables have fondue pots built in and you get to do all the cooking. The staff is always very friendly.

PROS: Great food and fun.
CONS: Expensive
