When I saw 5 stars was world class I knew I needed to up my score to the 5 Star. Kickers is such a unique, quaint place, and yes I would bring my international friends here. Prior to moving to the current location, it was great for those that had gotten there early, this usually meant you could sit down and watch as the food was being prepared, and you can not help but meet and talk to the person or group of people sitting to the right or left of you, or standing in front or in back of you. You got it we are talking about a SMALL QUAINT PLACE! The people who are to your right and left are just like you.either eating or waiting to eat. If you were sitting, you were fortunate to get a seat, (one row only at the counter unless you wanted to sit out at the picnic tables because you could bring your dog with you to eat.) When you sat at the counter you could actually sit and see the food being prepared and served. If you saw something that you really thought looked interesting or good, you just ask the the people on front of you,(owner, server, cook or waitress) " Hay what was on that plate?" usually the customer answered before the staff. and They also would tell you why they really liked the sandwhich, salad or soup. Whatever the plate was. A lot of times you can sample their soups to see which one you really like, on that day. They rotate their soup varieties. so try a different type each time you go, Unless you find one you really do not care for, but then this is not a bad thing it reduces the many soups that I am sure you will love. Make a visual or mental list of these soups and what you like or dislike about it onthat day. I will bet you will find many soups, on your list of great tasteing soups. I'm believe it or not, not a big soup lover (except for CHILI with beans, which I LOVE) but once I went to kickers the first time and started sampling and trying different soups. I went from rarely eating soup, to anytime I eat at Kickers I have to have some type of soup. What I have found out in trying the different soups is that what might not be the right soup for today because you want something more soothing on that day, however this soup is definitely not going hit the spot on the days you want something with a spicy kick or a lighter/heavier soup. I do not like the taste of beer, but after trying their beer and cheese soup there are days that I crave this soup. and I love it. Everything I have eaten there has on one day or another been the exact food that just hits the right spot.
Excellant place to go to when you just want something special, different, or something you will not find in many towns or cities for that matter.

Do it! Eat there. It is so good. To die 4. The soups are so good. and the staff is so friendly. I would recommend the veggie sandwich on rye bread with the potato and cheese soup.

Best food in town!! Sandwiches to absolutely die for. Soups that are out of this world. If my jaws were wired I would be very content just having his soups. Wish they would expand.
