First Timer

Went for the first time last night. Will definitely be back. Very good food...hubby had the rack of lamb and I had a lovely, light shrimp salad. We were both very pleased. Service was great. I recommend The Blue Heron highly! The prices were right for the quality.

Tigerriffic!!!!!!

Not the first visit and it was outstanding as usual. The reviews below are dated and not consistent with toady's service and food quality. There were nine of us who had an array of food from burgers to filet and grouper. Service was excellent, waiter Rob was very attentive, and food was beautifully presented and delicious. Cant wait to celebrate after football games.

Oh. My. Gawd!
by Meagan M.
This was seriously really really phenominal!
I ordered the seseme encreusted tuna, it was perfect, melted in my my mouth! oh my gosh, the Truffle mac & cheese with my dad's entree was seriously world class! The steak was perfect, and the portobello mushroom roll was to die for. The prices were extremely reasonable and the entrees come with several very delicious side dishes along with a salad to start. My tuna came with glazed baby carrots, sauteed spinach, miso rice, and a salad. Amazing! Best in Clemson for high class dining!!

AMAZING
by Anonymous
For all of those who were not satisfied with Blue Heron, you either went in with a bad attitude or unattainable high hopes. I have been to Blue Heron for the past 3 years, and as a college student, I find the whole menu economical. The sushi is very moderately priced and an 8 oz filet is only $22 -- and that includes dinner salad, potatoes, asparagus, and a mushroom puff pastry. For an upscale restaurant, that is AMAZINGLY priced. So if you are used to Applebees, of course you might think it is pricey. However, it is not absurdly priced. And Robert is a fantastic server. He probably made eye contact with the 18-year old daughter because he is SUPPOSED to, he is a waiter. He asked questions because that is how you make conversation with your customers. I am a waitress at one of the other 2 upscale restaurants in the area, however not Blue Heron, and I ALWAYS ask young adults where they go to school or if the customers are from the area. It is a college town and the question is completely and totally acceptable. And for those of you who will try Blue Heron in the future, definitely try the gorgonzola penne pasta, the filet, the crab cake appetizer, and/or the grouper oscar. It will not disappoint.

Exciting place!!
by John M.
The Blue Heron could not have impressed me any more than what I expected. Our waiter was completely accommodating to all of our needs. The presentation of the food was outstanding, and also delicious. I would recommend this restaurant over any in the area including Greenville, which of course has many popular places to dine. This place is local but the food has a big city feel. All together, I wouldn't turn The Blue Heron down for Tavern on the Green anytime. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great time to meet with old friends, and eat the best food in the southeast. The appearance is the only thing holding it back, other than that you would never think a world class restaurant could be in such a small town. Ask for Lindsey, she was our server and did a great job, Merry Christmas!!!

No up to expectations
by maggie s.
My last visit proved disappointing to say the least. The food was barely warm and the service was even less warm. A server named Robert was obviously not in such a great mood, and only seemed friendly when our 18 year-old daughter arrived. He consistently made eye contact with her and went so far as to ask where she attended school and if it was at Clemson. We were repulsed to say the least.

Last visit to Blue Heron
by libba u.
Our last visit was not the best experience. Our waiter of about 30 was not very pleasant. His attitude was arrogant and he was extremely short with my mother and my husband. I do believe he was deemed one of the better servers, there for over a year, but his attitude did not make for a pleasant meal. The food was good, although somewhat pricey.

Blue Heron
by lissi C.
I was disappointed in the service and the food was pricey for the overall taste and service. Our waiter, a man of about 30 was somewhat short with my husband and I . Although he seemed to be revered as one of the main servers, I do believe he needed a lesson in tact.

Not pleased with last visit
by Anne S.
I have been to Blue Heron a few times, and usually it has left me quite satisfied; however, the food was terrible during my last visit. Also, the service was not as expected and I was very disappointed in the overall experience. I would highly recommend Calhoun Corners as opposed to this restaurant. Although I have only been there once, it exceeded all expectations I could have in a restaurant, and I will be sure to go there again in the future.
PROS: The sushi is great
CONS: Service inconsistent, food is unsatisfactory for an "upscale" restaurant

Blue Heron Sushi Bar --- GREAT!

We have been going to the Blue Heron for about a year now. We have never actually sat in the regular restaurant, just at the sushi bar. The food is always fresh tasting and delicious. The service is amazing! They have a great staff that has been there for at least the past year, so they start to recognize you when you go in. The regular menu is a little pricey, but the sushi is very economical! We frequently go to the Blue Heron as our "date night".
PROS: Great Food! Great Service!
