I used to come here all the time as a kid. There was a whole wall of prizes to win. Now they've condensed it down to a counter. The quality of games has gone down too. It just isn't like it used to be. It's mostly action games now. Mostly for the boys. There's a DDR machine too. I mostly go for the skeeball.

Frankies Fun Park is a great mini golf spot in N. Charlston. It's in the heart of Ashley Phosphate so afternoon and rush hour traffic is a factor to consider. It's hard to turn in and out of since they do not have a traffic light close. However, it is a good safe place for the kids. The first thing we always do is play mini golf. It cost a litttle over $5 for each player. You can just purchase a ticket for the children although they don't mention that. That would save $5.50 or so an adult if you were on a budget. They have two courses. To me the course on the left as you enter is better and less people tend to go left! The left course will take you through the volcano and the right course will take you above it. You can only play one course on one ticket. After you play golf there are tons of video and arcade games inside. They spit out "tickets" when your child finishes the game and you can trade in the tickets for something. Kids love this but it can be frustrating for parents as it takes a lot of quarters in the machines to "win" much of any kind of prize. They do have a snack bar but it is expensive. Parking is easy and free. Traffic is quite bad during rush hour and late afternoon. Otherwise, it's fine.

PROS: Lots of fun for the kids, nicest mini golf in the area
CONS: Tickets for the games end up being costly
