DOES NOT CONSIDER AIR CONDITIONING AN EMERGENCY AND WILL NOT FIX ON WEEKENDS!!! People die from this every year! We were very pleased with our townhouse we rent from Goldsmith, but not so pleased with the service. It is a gated area and when we asked how we are supposed to allow guests/deliveries in, the realtor clearly had no idea, but said she thought there was an intercom and told us to look for it. There isn't. Instead we must simply give out the gate code which defeats the purpose of the gate. We were excited to have a fireplace, even if it's electric, but when we asked for instructions on how to use it, the realtor had no idea. With no help from her, we found some instructions for a fireplace in the townhouse, but they are not for the same fireplace as they instruct us to turn a knob that isn't there and say nothing of the on/off switch that is there. There is stuffing in the fireplace made to appear like ashes that would not be wise to ignite, so we are apparently left with a fireplace that only serves to bring in a draft when its cold as the flue does not close all the way. Furthermore, when we finally did get in touch with them to fix our air conditioner, they referred us to a terrible contractor who said he would send somebody at 8am the next morning. We got up early and waited patiently for no reason. After calling him, he sounded worried that he hadn't heard from his air conditioning guy and we were then equally concerned for the man's safety. Without any explanation, he sent out someone else 2 days later who did not completely fix the air conditioner as it continued to run 24/7 and could not be shut off. He also did not reinsert all the screws back into the unit. When we called to inform him it was not fixed, he said he would send someone out right away. Weeks later, we still have heard nothing and now the air conditioning is broken again on a Saturday, so we have to wait until Monday to call anybody.

I was very pleased with their ability to handle the tenants and other issues that we had with the property. They were able to clear up a clerical error with the city that would have cost us some property and a fence. That was a very important issue and they handled it well.

Cathy is always there for us. She brings up to date financial reports to every meeting and goes above and beyond helping us to get the best bids for our communities repairs and new work. Our community is over 15 years old so we are always having repairs and upgrades. Cathy meets with contractors and gets us timely bids.

At that time my husband was living and I never got involved in tenant relations etc. When he died in 2009 Jayne made it so comfortable and easy for me to transition to a more active roll in the property. She was always there to answer my questions and advise me.

Prompt communication with the owner and occupants, negotiating a quick solution to any problem and keeping all units occupied with good long-term renters is indicative of 5 star service. I have recommended Goldsmith to many other property owners. The members of the property management team are the ""Gold Standard"" by which other agents should be measured.

From the first communication with Goldsmith, I have been extremely displeased with the staff. In moving from Charleston, SC to the Upstate, my fiance and I chose to look for a house using Craigslist. We found a house that fit our needs in Easley and were very excited until I called Goldsmith and was forced to work with the unprofessional and unpleasant team at Goldsmith. It became so miserable that we considered not moving into the house that we really wanted because we did not want to deal with them anymore. Unfortunately, we did move into the house. Our time at the house was great and we never had any issues. We loved the area and neighborhood. Moving out was a different issue. We terminated our lease early to move closer in to Greenville for convenience and began yet another extremely unpleasant experience in dealing with Goldsmith. We moved out 2 months ago and are still receiving bills above and beyond the $2290 we lost in termination fees and penalties. I will never, for any reason, work with Goldsmith again and will warn anyone that I know about the horror of dealing with these people.

Have had several after hours emergency situations for Goldsmith/Property management to react to and they have always come through. Goldsmith has a sound emergency procedure in place and we have tested this system with excellent results. My heat went out right before the temperature dropped to 27 degrees. Goldsmith told me that I needed to go to Walmart and BUY a heater rather than coming out to fix it. YES, it was during the Emergency hours...well within. But, their reasoning was that the worker wouldn't be able to see.\n\nAdditionally, they have roaches infested in their properties but won't pay to send anyone out. They are terrible. Janey Beal is the worst. Very unprofessional and extremely rude on the phone.

Now, I am being told that my deposit will be used for professional carpet cleaning and house cleaning both of which I had already done. I have photos as proof and a witness who made a walk through with me before turning in the keys. I will NOT be allowing these people to take and additonal $1900.00 without a fight. I intend to file a report with the business professional organization and take necessary action in the magistrate courts of Greenville County. Please do NOT allow these people to rob you also.
