We had a boxer"cheyenne" whom has always went to ark..she loved the pple there...so did we..they took care of chey until we had to put her down this past week...they are the best...we will use them again ...if we ever get another pet...

We took our dog to ARC animal hospital today. We didn't have an appointment and only had to wait about 15 or 20 mins. to be seen. The vet was very nice and didn't act like she was in a hurry like I have experienced with some vets. The office staff was very friendly. I was very pleased with the service but best of all I was SHOCKED at the price....very very reasonable prices. I am from out of town and it is good to know that I have a reliable place to take my dog when I am visiting Myrtle Beach.

I took my cat there to get his shots and was told I must also pay for a checkup. This was fine with me. However, after his appointment had ended I was told they did not complete the check-up because my cat "freaked out." This would not have been an issue either had they not then proceeded to CHARGE me in FULL for the checkup-$35. When I politely questioned this, the blond receptionist became immediately defensive, rude and unprofessional. She finally consulted the vet, then returned to tell me I would be charged for the checkup they failed to perform, and that if I "ever" brought "that cat" back again I must have him tranquilized before!! Hello!! Why didn't they just tranquilize him there? I would've been willing to pay for it. And if they couldn't be bothered to do so, they should not have charged me. I've had my cat for 6 years and he has always received routine vet care. This has NEVER happened to me with him before. Later my husband called about what had happened and they CHANGED the story and insisted they had given my cat a check up. HORRIBLE, RIP OFF PLACE. it wasn't just that they ripped me off, it was the horrible way I was treated. I will NEVER go back there.

Yes, this is a very busy facility (because of the quality of care they provide), so you may have to wait. However, they give each patient wonderful individualized attention. Anytime I've come in with an emergency, they've triaged it as such, so you don't have to wait. Furthermore,they genuinely care about your pet as much as you do, and it shows. I have been using this vet since 1996 and would not use any other. There was a brief time when I had moved away, so, unfortunately, I did have to use other vets, and the quality of care those vets provided was nowhere near as compassionate or as skilled. I drive about 30-40 minutes to take my dogs to this vet, but it's worth it!

I took my dog there to get his nails trimmed and they did them all jagged and he was scratching everything including me! And the reason I took him to get them trimmed was so he wouldn't scratch things! They were not helpful to me.

I took my squirrel to Ark Animal in 2001 and they saved her life. They told me that they have saved some squirrel too!! I also found a cardinal , who they took to nurse back to health. I have been taking my animals there and recommending them ever since.

Too busy! Our dog developed "bloat" one evening and we had to take him to the emergency vet. They were able to keep him alive until we could get him to our vet to preform emergency surgery the next morning. We notified Ark that we were coming and arrived at Ark when they opened. After waiting for over an hour, they told us that they were too busy to preform the surgery. Hello...what don't you understand about emergency surgery! We went to another vet in Murrells Inlet who got us in immediately. They said that his stomach had started to twist again and had him prepping for surgery in minutes. Needless to say, I won't go back to Ark ever again!

I also think this place is the VERY BEST vet I ever had! Knowlegeable and caring people there, like Jamie, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I have been using this vet since 1984 and wouldn't take my pets anywhere else. The dr's are well trained and caring. They treat everything from dogs and cats to exotic pets and are well trained in them all. Prices are very reasonable.
