Was scheduled an appointment with Dr. Kumar as a new patient for her to be a primary physician. Horrible!! Will never go back or refer to anyone. She was very stand-offish and said does not write prescriptions and she refers out. That's how she handles her patients. Why would you call yourself a primary physician? Definitely disappointed at her attitude.

After reading All these Bad Reviews I had to write my own! I have beengoing to Dr.Bailey for YEARS . He saved my son ! His Asthma was OUT OF CONTROL Dr.Bailey has an asthma plan .If 1 thing didn't work I already knew he had another Plan! As a mother of 5 kids we see the Crew at North Hills once a Month I have NEVER had a problem with them. They are ALWAYS friendly and have Smiles on their Faces! .... One time it was minutes away from Closing time and FRIDAY when my daughter had a Fever and Dr. Bailey saw her and she had strep throat . Everybody had to stay a Little Later but NO ONE complained! Thank You North Hills Staff you Always are on your A Game! I never dread going to the Dr

I am very unhappy with North Hills. Dr. Kumar, is a HORRIBLE doctor. She is not very knowledgeable at ALL. She Tried to get me to take a shot for HPV, Hepatits A & B, and Tecna Shot. I really don't think Dr. Kumar is licensed, I don't think she would be able to get a job anywhere else. The Lady in Lab was just as bad as Dr. Kumar. It Took her three Time to take my blood( Switch was not needed).
I knew exaclly what was wrong with me ( I had the problem before, something that should have been treated immediately). She told me everything look normal and she would send my information to the lab.( Its been three Days & I have not Received any inforamtion from north hills) I went to Doctors care, because I knew that wasn't right. They took good care of me. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO NORTH HILLS.

Dr. Tummons is a HORRIBLE doctor. She overdosed my 9yr old daughter 4 times the meds... I found out when she was getting worse and I took her to Dr. Bailey. He noted that she was taking 2000mg when she should only be taking 400mg per day. Not only did she overdose my daughter, but when I had strep throat she refused to give me meds for it unless I took MANY (16) tests. Including a preg test when I have my tubes tied! She requires blood test and preg test for every visit. Also, one of these visits.... she needed to change the paper on the bed. She took every bit of 10 mins trying to figure it out. Then said she would get the nurse to change it. I reported this and NOTHING was done. Most of the staff at North Hills SUCK! I either get a bad attitude or poor service every visit. However, Dr Lombardi and Dr. Bailey are by far the best doctors there. If you HAVE TO go there I suggest you see either of them. Oh, one other thing.... A nurse there was talking with me about tummons and told me that it was not the first time she overdosed someone and it most likely will not be the last. Sad, sad, sad!

i feel as if the only people who defend the place are uncertified personell. They can't go anywhere else and work so they pucker their lips to get where they are. The only good thing about that place is how you can get good experience but thats it. If you aren't certified you will get a job but you will get treated like the dirt on the bottom of their shoes. Be careful who you talk to because it will come back to bite you in the rear. You can't even trust your boss. Its a zoo. I give it 2 more years tops before they shut it down

I am appalled at what was said by JoAnn. Obviously this is a case of sour grapes on her part because she was an EMPLOYEE OF NORTH HILLS WHO WAS RECENTLY FIRED FOR MISCONDUCT. Her words are exact duplicates of things she spent so much time talking about to anyone who would listen to her. The Dr. in question was her former employer and the one she blames for having her fired, when, in reality, he tried everything he could to stop it. She was a poor employee, with a poor attitude and work ethic who committed every violation of policy there was to commit. North Hills is not Greenville Memorial, not does it have the funding that GHA does, but what it DOES have are caring people who work hard everyday to care for their patients and Dr. Bailey is the best one of them all. He takes excellent care of my children, never having said no to a visit whether I had an appt. or not. He is nothing but courteous, professional and kind with me and my kids and they love him, as well as his nurses and staff. No one who knows the person who wrote the previous review is sorry to see her go ,nor has there been any effect but a positive one in the atmosphere of that office. Be careful what you wish for H.R., you just might get it. You wanted out, you got it! BYE BYE.

Slander: a malicious, false, and defamatory statement or report: a slander against his good name.
Defamation: the act of defaming; false or unjustified injury of the good reputation of another, as by slander or libel
Now that I have educated you on the terms of SLANDER/DEFAMATION let me also add that by "checking" the yellow pages only provides names, addresses, phones of attorneys, so I really do not know your point. I am trying to deterimine if you are really ass DUMB as you make yourself seem. If you REALLY know anything about North Hills, you know that they not making every effort to improve anything. Can you tell me the last time any of the offices under went a major renovation? No? I didn't think so. Also, if you check the pay for different positions at North Hills compared to other more reputable offices, you will see that North Hills pays 16 - 33% less to their employees. Doctor's get these bonuses for pushing paperwork and not better medical health. And you know the sorry ass people at North Hills, if contacted, will not do anything to improve. Besides, some improvement should be clear, even to the owners. The do not get the funding that others get because they DO NOT want the oversight from the government that will come from it. And for the RECORD, some doctor's work for North Hills because they sure as HELL can not go and work for any other office. Why, because of their filthy, degenerative backgrounds. North Hills hires the scum of the bucket (I am sure you know one of them). I might add that North Hills is about one of the few offices that accepts medicaid....that is so they can defraud them of hundreds of thousands of dollars. I guess I should give them a call and let them decide. What do you think? As a side note are familiar with employees writing prescriptions from doctor's pad's and selling the pills? Did North Hills decide to sweep that information under the rug like many others. I know exactly how the atmosphere is ran at North hills and i have a funny suspicion................YOU DO TOO! By the way, I leave the judging to GOD, how about you!

The person that made the comment in referennce to the Pediatrician in Mauldin, I do believe that is called SLANDER/DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER, illegal to do this. Check yellow pages under lawyers!!!!! NHMC is making every effort to improve their offices and they should be commended, not put down. If you feel mistreated, then do things appropriately and contact the correct person to help fix the problem. NHMC is privately owned and does not get the assistance as Medical offices affiliated with Hospital systems receive, so maybe it is, to a degree about making money. That money goes back to improving the facility as well as the equipment. Don't be so quick to judge.

As a mother I am always looking out for the best interest of my two small children. I had no idea that the Dr. they were seeing was a pervert. I think it is dispicable for any medical group to hire a doctor with a past behavior exhibited by this particular doctor. I thought he was so nice and professional. I guess you cannot judge a book by it's cover. For those interested, please take a look: www.llr.state.sc.us/pol/medical/Final%20Orders/.../05DecBaileyFO.pdf. Apparently this ragdy medical group is the only one that would hire this degenerate. I will be screening my children's next doctor, which I am searching for now. Please be aware of whom you let examine your children. Thanx

north hills is full of crap. They are all about money. One of the doctors is commiting insurance fraud by charging you for an appointment that you never went to. The building looks like a dump. They need to remodel or tear the entire thing down and build from scratch. most places pediatric offices have things that children can engage in for developmental purposes but they are cheap. I saw doctor desi a few times times. Her nurse smells like fish and looks sloppy. The doctor has a nasty attitude and acts really arrogant. Some of the people there are too nice too work for a money hungry business. They must pay their people good money to put up the crap they deals with

never again!
on hwy 14 the new receptionist is really unfriendly. you`ll never get a smile or friendly face.
the one before was the friendliest, I have ever seen.
dr. gamble is great. he takes time and describes everything exactly. but Ive been there more than 5 times for myself and with my sons and usually had to wait 1,5 hours - with appointment. even, when Ive been the first patient in the morning!!!! nobody could tell me why it was so...
the facilities are dirty (okay-they renewed the floor particular finally) - but its ugly - old dirty chairs with holes and stains - carpet on the floor where sick kids go in and out - desinfection is impossible with this surface!
never again!!!!

the only good thing about NHMC is that they are open late and on weekends and accept medicaid. not many peds in this area, the good ones rather, accept medicaid which i think it totally wrong. people with medicaid or self pay get treated like dirt where people with insurance get treated great. Dr. Bailey is not that knowledgeable to me as he told me one thing, and another doctor told me something else. i researched it for myself and found out the other doctor was correct. the doctors at NHMC also tell patients that all baby formulas are made the same when they are not. when a baby is brought in with spit up, they automatically go for the xray to look for reflux instead of trying the lactose free or soy formula. ALL BABY FORMULAS ARE NOT MADE THE SAME WAY, NOT ANYMORE!

i go to the pelham road office and the staff is nice but i always feel rushed by the doctor mainly b/c they don't speak very good english. as a child i was seen at NHMC when it was on E north street by dr Mcnamara and he was awesome. NHMC changed alot after he passed away and seem more about making money rather than actually helping patients like when i was a child.

the doctors also automatically want to jump to blood tests when a kid comes in sick with allergies and parents should be the ones who choose to get a blood test or not b/c they know their children.

i wouldn't recommend NHMC unless you have medicaid or other insurance and it is after hours and you are sick.

the doctors are also not informed on the laws in this state about proper child seat restraints for infants b/c they do not inform parents that infants under a year need to be rear facing no matter what they weigh.

I work at this Facility as a certified medical assistant with one of the pediatric doctors. I have worked with this doctor for several years. This doctor is the best doctor here. As for the staff, everyone here is nice and I have never seen anyone rude to any of our patients. It might be that the patients who are saying these nasty comments are just rude themselves. Some people are never happy no matter what you do.

I recently took my child to see a pediatrician at the NH Hwy 14 office. She was rude and incompetent. I talked to Dr. Bailey one night because he was on call and had me come in to see him the next day in Mauldin. Having never seen him before nor been to Mauldin, i was not sure what to expect. The receptionists were very nice and competent, and Dr. Bailey was great. He completely changed my child's medication which were totally wrong by the Dr. at hwy 14, and now she is fully recovered and feeling great again after several weeks of misery. I will never go to any other pediatrician except Dr. Bailey again. He was great, took lots of time with us, explained everything and everyone was very nice. I recommend NH Mauldin and Dr. Bailey to everyone.

This place is a train wreck. The staff is rude and silly and the lab seating is so full there sometimes isn't enough seating. In the past 7/8 years I've probably been here 13/14 times ONLY because NHMC is the only place that you don't need an appointment to go.(other than the ER) I took a friend who had been having broncitis-like symptoms for a few days, and we sat there for 6 hours before a doctor saw us. The doctors take a lot of breaks. Once, my son was next in line to see the pediatrican. The Doctor instead saw some 75 year old because her son was his family friend, and although my son had a 102 fever, a sore arm was more importent!!!! AVOID NHMC AT ALL COSTS!!

My family and I were going to North Hills Mauldin for 5 years and I'll ONLY go to renew medications, (my son takes asthma meds, my daughter takes allergy meds) The receptionists, (yes that is with an S) are always very rude! My husband and I have numerously complained to the Dr.'s and PA about them but nothing changes. We have military and a private insurance that pay in full and when checking out after 5 years they still try to charge us a co-pay. We recently had another healthcare facility added to our Insurance. The place is in Spartanburg about 50 mins away but willing to drive it to get away from North Hills Mauldin.

I took my son here for a scheduled physical at 2 pm (which had been scheduled for about a month). When we arrived 5 minutes early for the appointment, I was informed by the front desk receptionist that the Dr. we were scheduled with was not there today. She said she did not know why I was not called and rescheduled, but that she would check on it. I waited and waited, trying to be patient and polite. I was told by the receptionist that if one of the two patients who were also scheduled at 2 pm did not show up, she would try to get my son "worked-in" by that Dr.

I watched as a patient checked in at 2:15 pm and another at 2:20 pm. I asked the receptionist if my son was going to be seen or not, as I had been waiting for around 30 minutes already (which would have been fine, had we been worked-in). She said that the 2 pm appointments did come, so we would have to reschedule, as the Dr's who were in the office had full schedules.

I was very upset, as I had driven from out of town for the appointment, gas prices are high, and I had taken time off from work to bring my child for this appointment. It was not my fault that someone dropped the ball and neglected to contact me regarding rescheduling the appointment. I cannot believe that even though the error was on their part, the front desk staff copped attitudes with me and acted completely unapologetic about the situation. Even though the other 2 pm appointments were obviously late, they were allowed to be seen. I was on time, even a few minutes early, and we were turned away. I even spoke to their office manager, and she was just as rude, incompetent, and unapologetic as the other two front desk workers. She insisted that they had attempted to contact me (I received NO voice mail messages on my phone and NO letters in the mail). To make matters worse, the original front desk receptionist then denied that she had ever told me that she didn't know why I had not been contacted. She said she didn't want me telling her supervisor something that wasn't true!

All of this from an office that advertises that "walk-ins" are welcome. So, if I had just walked in off the street, they would have worked my child in the schedule...but, since we had an actual appointment & they neglected to let me know that the Dr would not be there, we got turned away. Their unprofessional and rude attitudes were the icing on the whole cake of incompetence. We will not return to this facility, and I intend to let whomever owns this business about the manner in which I was treated today.

NMHC has faults, just as most health care facilities do. NHMC is one of the few in the area that still accepts Medicaid. It is easy to make an appointment, but it may not as soon as you want it to be. The waiting time in the lobby for your appointment are sometimes long, but I believe that I would rather wait a longer time to see a great doctor than see a bad one quickly. They have recently "cleaned" up the inside of their waiting area; They have painted it a pink color- They call it "Rose"... I like it, my husband thinks it looks like pepto-bismol. There are no toys or activities for children, so if you are taking your child, make sure you take them a toy, a book, or something to do while they wait. The front desk staff has become more friendly than ever, and the nurses are knowledgeable, friendly, and kind to boot! Some of the nurses are bilingual, too (Doc's too!). The Doctors are great, with practices in the same building ranging from General Practice to Pediatrics. If I am not mistaken, there is also an Internist there. The laboratory is small, manned (or shall I say "wo-manned") by one person. Your results are available as soon as they come back from the main lab (which I believe is in Greenville), but the bad thing is that you have to make a 2nd appointment to get the results. (This is due to the new HIPPA laws, not their policies. Used to, they would give you results over the phone.) They are open on nights and weekends, but they will not give out narcotics. If you need those types of medicines, you are better off going to the E.R. IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE EXPERIENCING AN EMERGENCY (I.E., CHEST PAINS, SHORTNESS OF BREATH, ETC.), THERE ARE SIGNS ALL OVER THE PLACE TO NOTIFY THE FRONT DESK STAFF IMMEDIATELY AND THEY WILL CALL THE ATTENDING PHYSICIAN. However, you must be aware, though... they run on a state Medicaid budget. Their clients do not usually have "regular" health insurance, so when someone comes in with it, they must have all payments at that time. Also, if you are self-pay, you MUST pay for EVERYTHING UP FRONT. I have been in all three places (Medicaid, insurance through employer, and self-pay), so I know NHMC's policies pretty much in and out... I have also been with them as a health care home facility for about 8 years now. Overall, they are a wonderful place, that cares about you, your family, your health, your well-being, and your opinion.

Took my husband here on 05/10/07. While trying to find out how long of a wait, as he was having extreme chest pain, they discovered a bill our insurance had not paid from 2002 and stated it had to be paid before he was seen. We went to the ER instead and thankfully so! He was having a massive coronary! He will now be having a triple by-pass and because of the delay in getting treatment, vascular reconstruction for the aneurysm. Wonder how many people have had this near death experience from North Hills?

The only good things about North Hills Medical Center are their hours and nice nurses. They're open late and on weekends, which is the only reason I have went there more than once. The front desk staff is RUDE and very unorganized!!! My last appointment was at 2:00 and I didn't get called back until 3:30!!! I had a test done and the doctor assured me I would be called with the result no matter the out come. I never received a call back. Then when I called for my results, the lady acted as if I was annoying her by asking. She told me she would have a nurse call me back with the results and when I asked her if I would be called back today, she laughed and said, "maybe."

I love their flexibility, they are open on weekends, and the doctors there are really great, especially the pediatricians, but the waiting area needs to be cleaned or remodeled one. This is one of the only places that take medicaid, and they have a 24 hour phone line as well.
