The Pad Thai is what I try at every Thai restaurant I go to because it is my favorite dish and I figure that it is a good representation of what the quality of the rest of the food would be like, since it is a popular dish. Unfortunately,

this resturaunt is great!! They are friendly and the wait for your food is almost nothing. I could eat their food everyday! If you are not sure what to get, order the red currie! It is so good!

This place must have changed since all the other reviews I have read are good. I went there for lunch today and thought it a bit strange that I was the ONLY person in there between 11:50 and 12:30. I ordered the pork Thai BBQ which was described as a combination of spicy pork and mixed vegetables. Sounds good, right? What I got after waiting 20 minutes was a dried out, over cooked measly little pork chop with plain broccoli and carrots and steamed rice. When it was served to me, I complained that this is not what was described. He turned away and brought me more water. The meat was dry and had no taste, the veggies had no seasoning whatsoever. I asked if he could at least throw the veggies on the grill and stir fry them in a little sauce. He brought me a bowl of cold duck sauce. It could not have been any worse. I told him twice that it was terrible and suddenly he did not understand English but just smiled and walked away. He was also very quick to bring the full priced check before I finished eating. I could have made this dish at home for under a dollar but was charged $11.00 outrageous dollars. Save your time and money. Eat elsewhere, especially if you want a pork chop.

Love Thai food. can't get enough of it. Downtown Charleston has the quite popular Basil's (and rightfully so, it's great, but a bit of a hike), but I was a bit bummed to have moved from a place that had 6 good thai restaurants within 10 minutes.

So we have since discovered Pattaya in Mt. Pleasant. It is a quaint, comfortable little place (not new and swanky). The prices are right $9 for lunch, with big, big portions. We usually end up with lunch for two days. What I really liked about Pattaya is that it is truly a mom and pop operation (or I should say, Mom and daughter operation).

The mother/grandmother was cooking, who I presume to be her daughter was serving, and the granddaughter was doing homework at the bar. The net is, you get fresh, and what I would call home cooked Thai, it is 100% casual, so no need to get dressed up and trek downtown for good Thai.

my boyfriend and i ate there for the first time tonight and it was a very big disappointment. the service was fine, but the food was bland and completely un-thai. i ordered the pad thai and it tasted so little like actual pad thai that i had to ask the waiter if this was indeed my order, and if it was pad thai why wasnt there any peanuts or lime. in fact, i dont think peanuts were even used in the making of my dish. it was more like oily sauteed vegetables in noodles with a little bit of sauce.
my boyfriend got the bbq chicken that was more like two large dry chicken breasts with an extremely light coat of a few spices served with dry white rice and dry steamed broccoli and snow peas.
we will never eat there again.

The food here is unbeatable, the food is always fresh and served hot. NOT TO MENTION IT COMES OUT MORE QUICKLY THAN YOU CAN ORDER IT. As far as Thai food goes I know my stuff and I know the only way to beat this great taste is to go to Thailand yourself.
