My son and I visited Cypress Gardens and found a treasured hidden jewel.

We didn't expect much when we drove in, but spent 3 and 1/2 hours walking around, paddling through the swamp and enjoying the serenity only this place could provide.

We enjoyed it so much, 6 months later we were back and took friends to visit as well.

Much better than the Cypress Gardens of Florida. The staff are friendly, informative and welcoming.

this is definitely not the same as the Cypress Gardens in FL! different owners. It is a long ride from Mt Pleasant so be prepared! I wouldnt take the family either. It is ok for a class field trip, but I wasnt too impressed.

PROS: ok for class field trip
CONS: not worth the time or money for a family trip

Cypress Gardens is a little gem out in the country around Moncks Corner. It's a bit of a drive from the Charleston area to get to it but in spring it is just beautiful. They have walking trails and lots of nature. They have canoes you can take out and enjoy the swamp area with at no charge. You can go on a guided tour in the canoe at certain points of the day. Admission is fair for the Charleston area. Parking is easy as they have their own parking. It's a beautiful spot to get out and enjoy nature. They do have exhibits and alligators for the kids, etc. but the real beauty is in walking the trails. A nice, unusual outing for those on vacation or just who live in the area.

PROS: Very beautiful, nice outing
CONS: None!
