Too many kids if you are a couple looking for a nice place to check out...dont...it's the equivalent to the romper room...kids running around and parents letting them. Exhibits weren't that great. Save your money for alcohol around Broadway, at least you get something out of it besides annoyed

This place was way too small and way too crowded to cost over $20 per person to get in. The much-hyped "babies" exhibit was actually just a bunch of pictures of baby animals, the only live exhibit being some chicken eggs under a heat lamp that were supposed to hatch at some point, but hadn't yet. If it weren't for the crushing crowds it would take about 10 minutes to go from the front entrance through the few exhibits and into the gift shop.

This is one of my favorite places to visit in Myrtle Beach. It is very nice and there are a lot of interesting exhibits. I love the sting ray bay where you can touch the sting rays! I definitely recommend going to the aquarium!

I've taken my kids to this aquarium several times. I absolutely love the shark tank where you ride the escalator through the tank and the sharks can swim around you. I do feel that it is a bit overpriced however.

I spent the afternoon at Ripley's aquarium. I really enjoyed myself!
I just wish they would lower the price. I felt a bit janked after going there. You pay 16 dollars to go see something that I would say is worth 8 or 10. The Shedd Aquarium is cheaper then Ripleys!!! I would suggest you go on a rainy day or a day when you have some time to look around! Usually its packed to the gills (no pun intended)

I was very disappointed with the aquarium. It was very small and the exhibits weren't that great for the price of admission. Also I'm still trying to figure out what the planet Mars has to do with marine life?

PROS: I did like the small dart frog exhibit and the giant sea turtle
CONS: thought it wasn't worth the admission price.

this is well worth the trip! When we went it was $16 per adult but locals are half price. There is a restaurant in there for catered events which is really nice. They usually have some attraction going on at the same time. Kids will ove being able to touch the sting rays & see the sharks swimming around! Make this a definite place to stop!

Before moving here to Myrtle Beach we vacationed here and went to the Aquarium. While I feel it was totally overpriced it was neat for the kids. It is much smaller than I expected and gets very crowded especially where you caan pet the sting rays. I feel the best time to go is as soon as they open during the week. Weekends are just too much especially during the summer! My girls just loved the gift shop as it has lots of great items for souveniers.

PROS: nice clean
CONS: crowded & smaller than i thought

If you have to choose between the SC Aquarium in Charleston, and the Ripley's Aquarium in Myrtle Beach, DEFINITELY go to Myrtle Beach. Not only are there more hot babes in bikinis (or hot dudes in swim trunks), but the aquarium itself is SO much better. For example: The aquarium in myrtle beach actually has exhibits, as opposed to the one in Charleston which has nothing, basically.

The shark tank is really cool. You get on this conveyor belt that whips you through a clear glass tunnel and you can see the sharks swimming above and beside you. If only they could see you, rather than the reflection of themselves. Don't bother making goofy faces at them---they can't see you. And besides, their memory is only 5 seconds long so they think everything is exciting---don't take it as a personal statement of your personality. REally.

We took our three children here a few months ago. They really loved it. They got a lot out of it. However, I think that it is pricey for the day. Luckly we went on locals day so the price was not to bad. Otherwise it would of be high for a family of 5. The stuff inside was nice and clean!

PROS: Nice and clean!
CONS: $$$$

We absolutely loved Ripley's Aquarium! The tickets are a bit high, but definately worth it if you want an unforgettable experience. There was so much to see it was unbelievable! Riding the belt through the tunnel with the water and fish/sharks, etc. swimming around you was absolutely amazing! We even petted a ray in the water. They also have a restaurant and a huge gift shop. I definately want to visit Ripley's Aquarium again!

They have a lot of attractions. Very good for younger children, a lot of interaction. In a good location at Broadway. Easy access to get to, not hard to find. I LOVE THE SHARK PLACE WHERE YOU GO UNDER THEM. VERY COOL.

This aquarium is nice to visit if you have never been to any others. The cool part is walking through the tunnel with all the sharks and fish completely around you. The kids also can touch and hold different sea creatures. The aquarium isn't that big though. It took us about an hour to get through and I was disappointed.

PROS: Good aquarium if you've never been to one
CONS: Do not go if you have ever been to the National Aquarium in Baltimore

After being disappointed by the National Aquarium in D.C., we were eager to take our toddler to a REAL aquarium - so on a recent visit to Myrtle Beach, we headed for Ripley's. Although the admission was quite steep at $18 per adult, we found this attraction to be worth the price.

Our first stop inside was the Titanic exhibit, where you can read all about the infamous shipwreck, view artifacts, see a life-sized model of what the breach in the hull must have looked like, and dip your hand into 28 degree Fahrenheit water to feel what the victims endured that night. While not a permanent exhibit, it was very interesting.

On the ground floor of the aquarium are the tanks and tanks of various marine life - pirhanas, jellyfish, stingrays, eels, etc. Most of the animals are able to be viewed from several angles and sides of the tank. A "petting zoo" in the center of the aquarium allows you to pet horseshoe crabs and stingrays. An amphitheater called Rainbow Rock houses a huge tank full of colorful fish and turtles, and features scheduled diving shows (one of which we were happily in time to see.)

The most interesting part of the aquarium, for us, was the moving sidewalk that takes you underneath and in the middle of a huge tank filled with fish, rays and SHARKS. It's possible, in this exhibit, to stand mere inches away from huge sandbar sharks, although it's a bit nerving to see a giant shark with rows and rows of exposed teeth heading straight toward you.

To exit the aquarium, you must pass through the gift shop - a clever marketing ploy that worked too well on us, hiking up the total cost by about $15 more. Still, the Ripley's Aquarium was a fun and educational exhibit that we'll definitely visit again in the future.

PROS: Fun; educational; large variety of animals; shows; SHARKS!
CONS: Pricey
