I strongly disagree with the previous post! Every time I have taken my pups to SWAC, we have been treated exceptionally well. The veterinarians are all wonderful and do everything they possibly can to help. Depending on the circumstances, they will even come out to your house or go out of their way to help after hours. If you need them, they are there. Their technicians are very knowledgeable and caring, and the entire staff seems to take a personal interest in every pet and owner. I highly recommend Shandon Wood to anyone in need of vet care, and I would never go anywhere else!

I have taken my dog here twice and boarded him once. Each time, I think the rude treatment I receive can not get any worse, but somehow it does. Shandonwood touts themselves as an upscale, boutique vet where you will get friendly, personal treatment, but they have become a factory. Each time I have taken my dog, I have had to take him back for follow up because of the inadequate care he has received. Last time he was in he wound up with kennel cough. They give you poor information, mis-state their hours, treat you badly when you go in, and the list goes on. Now that I have made the decision not to return, even getting my pet's chart has become a hassle. I would not recommend this vet to anyone under any circumstances.

I've been using Shandon Wood for over 10 years. My 2 favorite vets have left the practice - I have no idea why, but they are starting their own clinic soon.

I just moved to Columbia a week ago with my 4 year old male tabby Remmy. He developed a urinary tract infection and since my usual vet was all the way back in Augusta, I took him to Shandon-Wood after being referred there from talking to the emergency clinic early that morning. Besides the mess from they're construction, it was a very good visit. The staff was happy and caring & I think I found my new vet home. I would recommend Shandon-Wood to any animal parent.

I've been taking my cat and dog to these people for 8 years now, and we recently added a new dog to the family. Upon the recommendation of a friend, I took the new dog to a different vet, one who was closer and cheaper (Cheatham Animal Clinic), and you get what you pay for, or in CAW's case, you get much, much less than you pay for. Oh, how I regret straying from my beloved Shandon Wood. Never again, I tell you. Never Again. The veterinary staff at SWAC is compassionte, professional and kind, and they always, always approach my animals with a smile and a gentle, caring attitude. No bad attitudes, no distracted staff, vet techs who are kind and knowledgable, and veterinarians who take the time to tell you everything you need to know, and make sure all of your questions were answered. For example, when my little dog was neutered, I was so scared about him having anesthesia, and worried all day long. Dr. Chip Jackson was on staff at the time, and he called me when Taz came out of surgery, and actually said "I have my hand on him right now. He's fine. He's breathing fine, and he came through surgery wonderfull". I can't tell you how much that meant to me. Our new vet is Dr. Nori Snead-Warren, and she is just as caring, compassionate and professional. I would and do trust all of my animals to this place. I would give them 10 stars, were it possible. They do cost more than other places, but it is absolutely, positively, without-a-single-doubt-in-my-mind WORTH IT. The facility is clean, beautifully run, with great staff.
PROS: I can not say enough good things about this place.
CONS: Pricey, but worth it. You absolutely get what you pay for.

We highly suggest Shandon-Wood Animal Clinic for all of your pet needs. We have been taking our 2 toy poodles there since they were puppies. While they admit their prices are slightly higher than the competition, it is worth the few dollars difference to us. The quality of care is excellent there. We would especially recommend Dr. Raines and vet techs Jessie and Lawrenda.
