excellent antique store

by M S. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 863

We lived in Charleston about a year before we ever went into the HungryNeck Mall. It doesn't look like much, so we just passed on by. When, I finally stopped in there, it was wonderful! It is just full of all kinds of items set up on a booth type system. Some booths are really expensive and some are great prices. You just have to look around. The main drawback to the Hungryneck is that the traffic on 17 is awful most of the time. The best time to hit it would be early in the mornings. They have plenty of parking but traffic in and out can be a real pain. Regardless, stop by sometime. It is a wonderful junk store.

PROS: lots of variety
CONS: parking

OH yeah! This place is THE BEST

by Heather A. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 6,349

I looooove me some Hungryneck Antique Mall. The mall itself is TOTALLY huge and I cannot go in there and spend less than 2 hours because there's just too much to see. It's like The Smithsonian Institute of Antique Malls.

EVERYTHING is here. I cannot break it down more than that. Furniture, clothing, records, books, toys, bric-a-brac, old kitchen utensils---gosh, that makes it sound so small and limited. This place is just SO FREAKING BIG it will blow your mind.

AND--the best part--this isn't some hoity-toity "don't touch anything" kind of antique store. Not at all. In fact, I think it's more of a "Junque" shop. Very hands on and the selection is so big and there is something here for everyone regardless of your budget---which is another great thing about the stuff they have there--IT IS NOT EXPENSIVE!!!

Please. Get in the car and drive to Mt. Pleasant and go to this mall. I am ordering you. Do it now. Buy stuff. You will be so sorry you lived your whole life without going here before.
