Thanks for checking out the Humane Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (HSPCA). We operate the Midlands' only spay/neuter clinic and perform animal cruelty investigations. We are not a full service vet clinic, nor do we adopt cats or dogs. But if you need to get a pet fixed, no problem! Give us a call.

Being an employee as well as a client, I strongly believe that The Humane Society and it's staff are working for a great cause. Our efforts directly impact our areas euthanasia rates and our work prevents animal cruelty.
When fully staffed, between the hours of 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, the Humane Society performs on average 50 surgeries. This does not include the hours dedicated to scheduling, preparation, intake, recovery and checkout of each animal. With dedicated Veterinarians, a new Director of Cruelty and a new Director of Public Relations, the Humane Society is working harder than ever to stay true to their mission- to end animal cruelty, neglect and pet overpopulation.

The SPCA employees were very kind and offered a great service of a free neuter for my cat because we live in Richland county. They also spayed a neighborhood stray for me. Their price for shots (and if you do have to pay the spay/neuter price) are so reasonable that it is cruel of any pet owner not to use this service.
I Definitely plan to use their service in the future and would recommend them highly.

Only $15 to spay/neuter a feral cat! + $8 for rabies vaccine and for these cats brought in traps unlike pets you dont even need an appointment, just deliver the cat in trap monday through thursday and remember to bring a hard plastic carrier for the cat to recover in. Everyone can afford to make a difference in reducing the 20,000 shelter euthenasia deaths in Columbia each year. Dont have a trap? Ask the HSPCA where you might purchase one locally or where you might borrow one. I have had many cats fixed at the HSPCA without any problems and at extremely reasonable cost. Great Value and EVERYONE needs to get involved in using this valuable resource if Columbia is ever going to become a Humane Community. If you arent part of the solution you are part of the problem. Lastly consider donating if you arent prepared to get involved physically not only do they do spay/neuter but also investigate cruelty complaints. This takes money and for a private organisation to do this donations your donations count.

The staff at the Humane SPCA has always bent over backward to help me with my rescues and feral cats. I have never been told "no" but given alternatives to any of my problem cases. When given the opportunity, I highly recommend them as not only a "good deal" but also as a competent source of controlling the pet population by spaying and neutering. Personally, I don't know what I would do without their support.

I have taken many cats to the SPCA for spay/neuters. What you must understand is that they use injectable anesthesia which will last longer than most and the animal will be woozy for maybe a couple of days. In addition, because of this anesthesia, you MUST withhold food and water prior to the service. . .for your animal's safety. They do use dissolvable sutures, so there is nothing more that needs to be done. For the price, you will not find a better deal for fixing your animal.
