A favorite breakfast place made famous by Rachael Ray on T. Sit on the southern porch and enjoy the wonderful stuffed blueberry pancakes with fresh fruit and a cup of delicious java. Take home baked goods made daily....

Best in The Carolinas
by Anonymous
This place is hands down the best place for baked goods in The Carolinas. Wedding Cakes are fabulous -- beautiful and taste fanstatic too! No wonder leading magazines, like Destination Weddings, Southern Living and Bon Appetit have showered this bakery cafe with praise. 35 years in business. We had a small wedding on the island and couldn't have been happier. Signe, the owner, was a delight to work with. Down to earth, but a real pro!
Our cake was heavenly.

If There is a Wait It's Worth It
by Markay
I am a frequent vacationer to Hilton Head Island and discovered this amazing bakery cafe about seven years ago. I look forward to having every breakfast here on my vacations, and an occasional lunch as well. The deep dish french toast is baked, not fried,so some folks don't understand it -- but I can tell you it is absolutely delicious. I am also partial to the shrimp and grits (as good as I have ever eaten) and the Hen-House, which is a poached egg dish. And, don't miss the pastries -- especially the pecan sticky buns. I must admit, since everything is made to order and fresh, there is sometimes a bit of a wait especially when things are busy (this is not fast food). But, if there is a wait, it is worth it. And the servers are always smiling and friendly.
Pros: Tasty and Fresh and Unique. Great pastries.
Cons: Occasionally People Have to Wait

Overrated & Skip
by gripdxd
I wish I had better things to say about this place, but I don't. The backroom is dingy and the service is terrible. They don't acknowledge you when you enter and they are SUPER SLOW. The deep dish french toast was bland and it was SOO OVERPRICED! Skip it and don't go. You're better off going to Stacks..
Pros: Baked Goods Maybe?
Cons: Service, Breakfast, Price & Ambiance

good but overpriced and slow service
by sbdb1200
Signe's has good food but the service is extremely slow. Went there for breakfast and waited well over 45 minutes to receive our food. Needless to say, our two young kids were not happy. Also, we ordered just a few things off the menu and the bill was over $40! That's ridiculous for breakfast.
Pros: good food
Cons: very slow service, overpriced

WORST SERVICE ON HILTON HEAD ISLAND!
by djwally
I stopped in for 2 cups of soup to go, and 30 minutes later, I was still waiting for my soup. Several people came in after me and got their food, but I was still waiting. I asked about my order, but still no soup! Finally I got back in the line by the cash register to ask one more time before I abandoned all hope, and low and behold there was my soup, right next to the lady at the register, where it had been for some time while she was chatting and checking out other customers who had already eaten. She just "forgot" to call my name - for 15 minutes or more! Finally, I took my cold soup and went home. It's too bad that the service is so terrible at this place because the food was ok for a place that you have to stand in line to order (and stand in line 2 times more to actually get your food). If you have a day with nothing else to do for a few hours, you may want to give it a try!

YUMMY

This is one of those spots that is not much for atmosphere, you have to go through a counter to order, as an example.
But, once you do... wow. I had the "blueberry french toast" which is really blueberry poundcake, made into french toast. Leave the diet at home for this one. Well, there is a little fruit cup served with the french toast, but you will never get to it!
It was truly the best french toast I have ever had. It was so good, that when we went back there on our last day, all my friends had to order my little treasure from our first time there.
the key lime scone gets an honorable mention as well.
