We bought a puppy at this pet store. Four and a half days later he came down with parvo. We called to inform the owner so he could check the rest of his puppies so no one else had this happen to them. Instead of being grateful we called he got nasty and blamed us for the illness. Luckily our puppy survived but others will probably not be so lucky.

I went in just to see what there was and it was very dissapointing. the fish tanks were dirty and with some dead ones floating about, although with large batches of fish some die anyway but then why didn't anyone clean them out. the store was empty of employees, It looked like "Life After People was being staged. the animals were very depressed and the cages weren't quite clean either. all in all, only use this store if you have to other wise go to petsmart just a few blocks away. the are well staffed and the animals are well taken care of.

Do I have to rate this place at all? I would like to know why the ASPCA does not close this place down. You need to take a Prozac just to walk through here because it is so depressing to see the animals in such filthy and vile conditions. I would buy them all if I could just to ensure they would have a loving and caring home, but I would be broke from their insane prices and also the vet bills that would inevitably come from the squalor they have lived in. What are the requirements to get the ASPCA in to shut it down? Seriously, I would volunteer to help get the animals out and cleaned up! The owner was nice to us when we took our child in to trick or treat, but I would NEVER EVER buy from here just because of the cruel treatment of these poor animals. Why are they still in business?

My friend and I were so horrified by this pet store, we refuse to ever enter again. We were kicked out by a male worker because we "looked like trouble". This is ridiculous. My friend and I are straight A students who are terrified of getting in trouble. We were in the store for only 3 and a half minutes before being asked to leave. Horrible workers with terrible attitudes, disgusting, unkept, filthy fish tanks, and glass box like kennels for the dogs and cats, who sit in there own waste most of the time. I highly recommend to never buy anything from this store.

The 5 star rating MUST be from the owner or family member. This is the worst pet store I've seen. Dirty and the costomer service is horrible. I wanted to write a bad review to warn others, only to find plenty of other bad reviews already out there. I will never go back. There are several pet stores in town (not big box) that are helpful friendly people who look like they care for the pets well. I can't believe this place is still in business.

This is a great store, I mean sure the high school kids at the big pet stores and department pet stores can sell you a pet with unknown origin and know nothing about the animal they are selling you or you can go to Fish Here and get a new companion from people who know and love what they are selling.
I personaly have been going there for over 20 years now and have been more than satisfied. the thirty day refund or exchange policy for fish is great because if you have a problem its normaly the first ten days. the fish they sell are disease free unlike alot of bigger stores. many times ive lost a tank full of fish cause i thought I couldnt live without a fish i saw at a store like wal-mart and got it in the tank to spread sickness throught. Yes the tanks have some algae growing in them wich is hard to keep under control with a staff of around three that are always waiting on customers (or trying thier best to) but algae isnt really harmfull to fish, in fact its good for them in a way due to the fact it increases the level of oxygen in the tank for the fish to breath. and the person who saw the brown anole cracks me up, ive had those little guys from there for years off and on and they Do change color trying to match thier surroundings and depending on thier mood. the lizard was probably sitting on a brown log like you see them on at most pet stores. but if you have anoles you know that they dont blend all to well if they are sick. The owner and his staff and family have always helped me with whatever problems i ran into with my animals and there have even been ocasions where they have had me bring my water in to have it tested to track down problems and various other things. The cubicles the cats and dogs are in are a tad small but they are larger than any others around here and they do have people who play with the animals in a back room every day to excercise them. but all in all I would highly recomend this store to anyone and also they are one of the last pet stores in our area who can not only sell you a pet but know a ton about what they are selling you. lol the other stores will sell you a pet and a book. give em a try

I bought a puppy here a few years ago. It was a lab/retriever mix for $450 but the poor guy was so cute. 2 weeks later I had to put him down because he had a disease and the vet determined he was only about 5 weeks old when we purchased him he should have been 8-10 weeks old. We told lady at the Pet center and she said there would be no refund then we called our vet and our vet called her and threatened her to turning her in and then wrote her a nasty letter and we got all our money back which went to 2 weeks of vet bills anyway which was roughly about $1200 until we finally had to put him down. I would not recommend purchasing anything from this store. Although I do feel so bad for those animals. They need to be shut down!

Animals are well cared for, aquariums are kept as a hobbiest would keep in there own home. The aquariums need plants, algae, and such to keep them alive. You don't keep fish in a swimming pool as the high level of chlorine are the only way to keep a pool looking clean and clear, look at the ponds, streams and lakes in the area fish die there too, even in there natural environment. It smells like a pet store, just like the perfume counter smells like perfume or a barn smells like farm animals. Anoles also known as chameleons change colors. The store has a gaurantee for the dogs and cats against problems like someone claimed. Store has integrity and tries to protect the animals from people who abuse them tapping on the glass or making sudden moves at them, one would not want that behavior done to them or their children, what makes them think that it's alright to do it to an animal. The customer is not always right, and good for them to stand up to such behavior.

This store is ridiculous. It stinks. It's way too crowded and dirty. The fish tanks are dirty. The poor cats and dogs always have dirty cages. I've seen dogs try to play in the small amount of room they have and end up stepping in their own feces. The employee's are rude, and it's just overpriced. I was looking at lizards once and I saw this anole that was brown (green is when they're healthy) and way too skinny, you could see his ribs. I thought he was dead so I got an employee. She reached in the cage, poked the lizard, and when he moved she just walked away. I felt so bad for the little guy just rotting away in this cage. I'll never buy anything from this store.

DO NOT BUY AN ANIMAL FROM THIS STORE!! I purchased my jack russel/rat terrier from this pet store in June of 2008 and we have put over $2000.00 into vet bills for him since! He had a bacteria in him in the first week, called champylbacter which was from the dirty conditions he was living in before we purchased him. Just a warning--do NOT buy a pet from this disgusting store!

Pros: none

Cons: mean and nasty service

I knew I would be disgusted and saddened by the pet shops condition but I went in anyway. As usual there was the following..

1. Puppies from puppy mills kept behind glass.
2. Over crowding in the bird and small animal cages. (rabbits in small aquariums)
3. Murky water and dead fish floating in the aquariums.
4. The pungent stench of feces and urine.
5. Not enough employees working to manage all the animals.

Yuck :( But what really stuck out to me were the rats. On their cages they had signs that said either, "MOSTLY MALES" or "MOSTLY FEMALES." There was also a cage with a rat with a litter of babies. Then one cage charged $2 for a bunch of rats but the rest were almost $13...

So I found who I assumed to be one of the managers and politely asked her a couple of questions. "Do you encourage breeding in your store? I'm asking because of the signs on the rat cages." Her reply was, "Some people are stupid and mix them around." I asked her if she was referring to the customers and she said yes. I asked if the employees tried to prevent that. She said no. She also said that they're so busy once the shipments of the new animals come in that sometimes the rats get mixed up.... but she once again mentioned the "stupid people." I told her I could relate having worked at a pet store myself before(meaning with the mischievous customers). Her reply? ...She snottily answered with, "Then why are you asking the question?" LOL I told her the place I had employment at had all male or all female stores. She didn't like that answer. Finally she told me that the cheap rats were old so they were trying to get rid of them. I thanked her for her time and she sarcastically said goodbye to me.

Not to mention there were products covering almost every inch of the store... it looked messy and uninviting.

It was a poor experience overall but I could not believe how rude the worker was to me.

I actually found what I was looking for... a harness for my own dog but put it back. I REFUSE to support such a disgraceful, cruel, chaotic store.

This store stinks they really need to clean there tanks. It is very hard to see what is in them. Also they sale cats and dogs that are purebred but the prices are very high for them. They have a wide selection of items for house hold pets. The staff would rather talk to one another then help the customer.

I always walk through here when I'm at the mall but I can't remember the last time I actually bought something from here. They've got decent prices on their fish, but it can be a hassle tracking down someone to help you get them. They've almost always got puppies and kittens available but they're pretty pricey for a lot of non-purebred dogs, and you can pick up a kitten from the Humane Society for cheaper. They do have a wide variety of pet accessories though.
