Me and my boyfriend went here for our year anniv. and our waiter came about 15 minutes after we had sat there and got our drinks..then we ordered our food..before our food arrived the table across from us left and the waiter went over there and looked at the reciept and said GD when he saw that they left no tip. Later on he asked where we were from and we said Morristown,Tn. He then told us that he used to sell crystal meth here. He was not a very good waiter and we left no tip. I would hate to have heard what he said after we left. He was also looking down my shirt while taking our order..it was not a great experience

Calhouns is a very good resturant. I go there alot for their baby back ribs that are so mouth watering good. They cook these to perfection and there are none like these.

The Ribeye is the item to order! The ribs are delicious, but the steaks are like "buttah". Wait staff was attentive, but not hovering and the place was clean as a whistle.
I am especially fond of the Tuckaleechee beer (named after nearby bat cave- must visit). Stout without the aftertaste.
Great job, Calhoun's!

Before I left for my spring break getaway to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, I had heard great things about calhouns restaurant, that they had the "best steaks ever" in easy words, and me and my family decided
to try this restaurant for an evening dining experience, and I, myself, along with every other person eating with me agreed that the recommenders were correct in their accurate information. The atmosphere was
exquisite, the service wouldnt leave us alone, and the steaks were great. The only noticeable con were the
french fries, they were crunchy and lacked salt. But thats probably why they are called "Best Steaks" and not "best french fries" :). An excellent restaurant, and for any one planning a trip up to the smokies, YOU BETTER COPY THIS ADDRESS!

Pros: Service, Steak, Atmosphere, whats not to love?

Cons: Crunchy French fries

This is a fun place - a great place for the whole family including the kids. Barbeque is the "focus" but the menu includes a broad enough set of choices to satisfy just about anyone. When we were there they had a singing group outside to entertain the patrons waiting for a seat - a nice touch. The place can get crowded and "rockin" - but the food is good, ample and reasonably priced. In the end - it was one of our favorite dinner spots in Gatlinburg. Be sure to take advantage of their call ahead seating!

Cons: Like so many others - there can be a wait

Where to start? I love the Calhouns on the waterfront in Knoxville so while my husband and I were in Gatlinburg on our honeymoon, we chose to dine there. After waiting for our server for several minutes just to order drinks, we FINALLY got to order our food. My husband ordered the prime rib and I ordered the steak and shrimp combo. His prime rib, although cooked to medium as he had ordered, had the flavor of being entirely over smoked. It was overpowering. The aju sauce was very weak and watery. My steak was tough and had burned black spots on it. My shrimp also had an overpowering smoked flavor as well. I know they smoke their food having eaten at the Knoxville location many times, but that was over done. The server couldn't be found for drink refills and when we did ask, he left my drink sitting on the bar for 15 minutes before he brought it. NOT worth the large bill we recieved for food we couldn't eat! I would suggest the drive to Pigeon Forge or Knoxville to enjoy Calhouns- skip the Gatlinburg location all together.
