The Friday Night "ARTini" is advertised as an opportunity to have some drinks, view art, and hear someone knowledgable speak about some of the works. Our group of seven showed up, purchased admission, and got in line at the little bar. A single bartender s l o w l y made $7.00 cosmos for about half the people in our group. Finally we were all served and started into the gallery. No drinks allowed in the gallery. Your kidding! Seems like they could have told us that at the bar. Four of our party went back to the lobby with their cosmos. The rest of us stood there looking around for a group or a sign or podium or something. I asked the cosmo blocker when the lecture starts. It's over. What?! It was 7:20. How long was it? She spoke about two pieces and that was it. What an embarrassment.

Pros: Better than nothing I guess

Cons: Absolutely not as advertised.

I know, it shouldn't be a surprise to get a tasty, fresh, well-priced lunch out that is worth raving about, but I don't remember the last time I did. Until today! I had to grab a quick lunch to-go after visiting the Frist Center and not only was the tuna melt and fruit salad delicious, fresh AND quickly made, but the portions were more than worth the price. And if you aren't that hungry, they offer half sandwiches. But $5.95 or $6.95 for a large, yummy sandwich and a large portion of fruit on the side? As long as they don't make the mistake of so many other places and decide they can skimp or change their menu items and make more money, I will definitely be back!

Every time I visit I make a point to eat in the cafeteria... FRESH Vegeterian choices........

The THURSDAY EVENING Venues are a bit confusing since they are located in the hallway...no seating...crowded...difficult to enjoy and relax.......

The venues/exhibits are some of the best that I've visited...extremely user friendly

The frist center for the visual arts is located in downtown Nashville, and is very convient to most people in the area. They always have interesting exhibits, and a wide variety. There is a wonderful cafe on the first floor, and they have interactive things for the children to participate in. The only down side for me was no strollers, and my very heavy infant!

The Frist Center offers many things for any member of your family. Fridays at the Frist offers live entertainment and bars. They also offer Free Frist Day for families once a month. They have many great educational programs for children as well. Excellent gift shop.

Nashville is very lucky to have the Frist Center. Its architecture alone makes the trip worthwhile. The Frist offers world class exhibitions such as the recent French impressionist collection including originals by Monet and others. It is a truly amazing experience that is definitely worth the trip.

PROS: Excellent cultural opportunity in your own backyard
CONS: None

The Frist Center is a newly built center in Nashville. The building is beautiful and near downtown Nashville. The center contains art and history from Nashville and the surrounding areas. It is very educational for young children and you can learn more about the artists in the area. They also have a gift shop and there is ample parking.

The Frist Center is a really nice art museum. It has interactive things for kids and nationally touring exhibits. There are discounts for kids and seniors, and they have special discounted and free days throughout the year. It is really nice and worth a look any time.

thanks to the frist, art which has before stayed away from nashville, citizens can now be exposed to good art in a great setting..though a bit pricey it is usually worth the trip to see their great exhibitions....its like a miniature museam of modern art ....

The greatest part of the Frist Center is the hands on art projects. This is a wonderful place to bring your kids and let them experience art in its truest form.

An incredible place to friends from out of town, lots to see, but plan on standing on your feet and walking a lot. There are a few benches to sit on, but not many. A definite place to go on a cold or rainy day when outdoor attractions are out.

Pros: good parking, quiet

Finally -- a visual arts hall worthy of a city of Nashville's size. They designers did a great job keeping the old deco feel from the old post office while incorparating new elements into the Center. The collections thus far have been interesting and look forward to even more as the Center becomes established. The interactive area for kids is entertaining and draws surprisingly well. Parking is available behind the building.
