Rude and Non Caring.....only $$$$$.
by Lee Ann W.
When we arrived at our cabin in July 2009 it was on FIRE! We got stuck in a cabin that had no view and our bill was the same. They do not care about customer satisfaction. Only $$$. I filed a complaint with BBB. I was told they would turn it over to owner of the company and cabin. Still waiting.... We just wanted compensation for our first night which we spent with the police and fire dept. I hope to tell as many people as possible about their practices. The manager, Brian Spiezio, told us that he had done all he could for use that he just "managed" the cabins. The $$$ issue was out of his hands. He also would not provide us with owner information so we could write our own letter. I wish I would have read more reviews. Beware of this business!!!

Aunt Bugs Log Cabin Rentals is A Run Around!
by H C.
I have stayed with them several times. We had a great time and had a few 'pets' with Raccoons on the porch and bears in our trash! I have never stayed in East TN without seeing wildlife though.
The only problem that we had was that our cabin was supposed to have had swimming pool access. It did the first year that we had stayed in it, but after making it to our cabin and wanting to go swimming the second go around... we ended up being a run-around. Our pass to the Clubhouse was supposed to be at the clubhouse...we went to the clubhouse and were told there was no pass there and it must be at the main clubhouse in gatlinburg. It turned up to not be at either of these places. We called the cabin company back and they had finally told us that the owner did not pay the membership dues. They told us that they could provide us with a temporary card. My brother-n-law had to end up going to get the card. When he got back, I noticed that they gave us a two day pass for our eight day stay! One of those days, it had rained all day! I would just hate to see how much extra we had paid to have 'swimming pool access'.

LOOK ELSEWHERE
by Doug R.
Cabin was moldy, peeling paint, loose deck stairs and railing. No mountain view as promised. No microwave, office said they would bring one over but it never arrived. Pet stains all over the carpet despite $50 per pet fee which should pay for clean carpets. Complained to management who said they would contact us with an "adjustment" but have not heard from them in two weeks and I'm sure I never will. Bad cabins run by even worse management.

Rude, Arrogant, non caring

Rude, Arrogant, non caring
We had made our reservations on line and received our confirmation number. Well so far so good. One day before our scheduled arrival time, we decided to try for one extra night stay. The phone call was made at 1700 hrs. I spoke to a very nice young lady and was told that the paperwork would be in the late arrival box outside the rental office. Well after a four hrs drive, both families, 4 children and 4 adults, ended up at Aunt Bugs rental office without anything in the rental box. We ended up spending the night at the Days Inn witch by the way was great. We should have stayed there the entire time. The night clerk at the Days Inn informed us that we were not the first Aunt Bugs visitors with check in problems.
The next morning I had the misfortune to meet the manager at the Aunt Bugs rental office. The jerk informed me that check in time was after 3pm. Unless we want to pay one extra night. I showed him the receipt from Days inn and told him that due to his mistake we had to pay to stay at a motel, but this lowlife could have cared less. He then asked if I had an e mail confirmation. I did not. And so they made us wait until 3 pm. I asked to speak to his boss but was told that he was the man.
They have a no refund policy on their deposit. So we had no choice but to stay at Aunt Bugs or loose our deposit. If you stay in one of their cabins look under the deck were the hot tub is located. The one we had, besides the fact that it did not work properly, is getting ready to go down the mountain side including part of the deck. Also bring plenty of drinking water. There is so much sulfur in the water that it is impossible to cook or even brush your teeth with it. The chlorine and sulfur mixture made the hot tub smell like cat urine.
Aunt Bugs could be a great place, however the management just dont give a hoot about the customers.
Worst place ever.

greedy, rude, unappologetic company should go under

I will have to say, up front, the cabin was gorgeous and very clean. As soon as we set foot in the cabin, we went over everything and noticed the fireplace did not work. I called less then an hour after we checked in to report it and no one showed up until the next night (or so they say, we weren't there at the alleged time)! I called every single day, multiple times, to no avail. This company simply does not care about any thing other then your money. You can find that out for youself by reading their return policy, or lack thereof. This company has horrible reviews on Tripadvisor dot com and on the Better Business Bureaus website. What good is a romantic winter anniversary in a mountain cabin without a fireplace?! And then there's that little nasty problem of them stealing your things, or in their terminology, not responsible for left items. Does any one care about their customers any more? I left my prescription eyeglasses there and no one seems to know any thing about them! Don't even think of renting with them! There are plenty of other cabin rentals in Pigeon Forge.

Rude, Arrogant and Complete Jerks!

My husband and I stayed at Aunt Bugs in Oct 06 and planned to be married at the cabin during our stay. Upon arrival the cabin had not been cleaned very well after the last guests and the furniture looked and smelled old and dirty. At check in the staff did not seem very friendly and seemed more focused on barking out the rules and policies than making sure we were happy with the cabin and that we would enjoy our stay. We planned to be married on Tuesday morning at 11:00. Over night on Monday there was a storm and we awoke to no electricity or water in the cabin. We decided to postpose our wedding until later that afternoon, so we called the minister, baker and photographer and they agreed to come to the cabin at 4:00 pm. At 3:00 pm there was still no power/water so we had to cancel our wedding and our wedding guests left. It was cold in the cabin and everyone was irritable since we were all dirty, hungry and cold. We had made several calls to Aunt Bugs office during the day on Tuesday to ask that they move us to a cabin that had power and water and they refused and kept telling us the power would be restored "soon". Late in the afternoon we asked if they would pay for a hotel so that I and my soon to be husband could shower and dress and possibly get married at a different location. They refused to do even this for us even though they knew it was our wedding day. Well, "soon" turned out to be in the early morning hours on Wednesday. By that time the food in the fridge and freezer that we had bought for the wedding and for the week had spolied and had to be thrown out. We eventually got married late on Wednesday afternoon and were vrey pleased that the minister, baker and photographer from Smokey Mountain Weddings went out of their way to accomodate us the next day, unscheduled to make sure we had the nicest wedding possible under the circumstances. Aunt Bugs refused to refund any of our money for the two days without power and water and refused to refund our money for all of the spoiled food. In fact, when we returned home the following week we discovered that Aunt Bugs charged our credit card an additional $50.00 stating we had a dog in the cabin. We do not own a dog, so this is still a mystery. Our credit card co reversed the $50.00 charge after we made several calls to dispute this charge. To sum up our stay at Aunt Bugs...We paid more than $1500.00 for a cabin in hell and felt cheated and abused. Aunt Bugs had no sympathy that we had no power and water and even had the nerve to tell me to go purchase candles and make it romantic during one of the few calls made to them when the power was out. I told her that she needed to go purchase some candles herself, light them and shove them up her nose. Never again! The year prior we stayed at Cosby Creek Cabin Rentals and had an amzing time. We are planning an anniversary trip this Oct and have reserved a cabin again at Cosby Creek Cabin Rentals. We found they are down to earth, polite and the best cabin for the money in the Smokey Mountains. If your planning a trip to Aunt Bugs, cancel and reserve elsewhere!

Don't be fooled!!

My family recently visited Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg for a week of relaxation and fun. Upon arrival to our cabin, the pictures on-line and the advertisements were very misleading. We had our grandparents with us, the beds were so high, grandma had to sleep in the chair!! The sofa bed in the living room had trash stuffed underneath and potato chip crumbs all over the mattress. You know, Aunt Bugs charges all of those high priced cleaning fees, but the cabins were unacceptable. We got our money back, but had to pay $200.00 for the one night we stayed. American Mountain Rentals were the best!! We received $1000.00 off of the rest of our stay due to the trouble with Aunt Bugs. Friendly people, very clean cabins, no cleaning or processing fees, they even called to be sure we were pleased with the cabin and were having a great time!

Don't stay anywhere else...
by M. A.
We have been visiting Gatlinburg for years and happened upon Aunt Bugs Cabins rentals. We have stayed in other "hotels" in Gatlinburg and we wanted something our kids stay in and have fun. This is the place. We have been several times, with and without the kids. Aunt Bugs is top notch. You will not be disappointed. Sure, you can stay with any one of the hundreds of cabin rental companies but you get what you pay for. If you don't mind walking around on dirty carpets or relaxing in Pepto Pink heartshaped hottubs with the people staying next door looking into your porch... just to save a buck or two...go for it...just more availability for my family to stay at a clean, well appointed, beautifully decorated cabin. We wouldn't stay with anyone else!
PROS: A cabin away from home...and its clean & beautifully decorated!
CONS: Vacation is never long enough!

We stayed at aunt bug's on our weekend away. Everything was so nice inside. It was very clean and elegant. We had a fireplace in the bedroom and in the living room. We also had a hot tub outside on the porch. I would love to go back and stay again.

Aunt Bugs Log Cabin Rentals is a pretty good cabin rental company. We have only stayed in their cabins one time, and I was not so impressed. I think that most cabins are nice, with all of the different companies, but this company charges cleaning and reservation fees. There are MANY other cabin rental companies that do not. However, this company has clean homes and we would stay here again.
