Geez oh pete we are SICK of hearing about people who are too stupid to handle hot foods/liquids and blame it somehow on the restaurant. How ridiculous. I have never even been to this restaurant (yet) but such stupid complaints just

This place burnt my friends daughters foot with scalding hot cheese and gave her 2nd degree burns. She called them and they shrugged it off like it didn't matter. This is ridculous and I would make the lawyer the next stop after this. I suggest no one to ever set foot in this restaurant!!

We went there for lunch on Sunday and ordered the children's quesadilla for our 18-month old. As soon as she picked it up, scalding hot molten cheese ran out of the side and landed on the top of her foot and knee. The cheese left a 2nd degree burn on the top of her foot. It is grossly irresponsible of the restaurant to serve children's meals (or any meals for that matter) so hot. The server saw it happen. He handed us a few napkins to wipe it off and walked off. Four days later, she still has an large open wound on the top of her foot. Called the manager a few days later to let him know how bad it was. Never received a call back, so we went in. All he did was deny it happened there, because "his server didn't tell him about it" and "we would never serve food that hot." My husband even told him we didn't want anything, just an apology and to let him know so it wouldn't happen again. We got nothing, just a denial and implication that we were lying about it happening there. Horrible Customer Service and Dine at your own risk.

My wife and I were visiting Knoxville for business, and decided to try this place out. The chips and salsa were served quickly, and were tasty. Our server was quick to arrive and take our drink orders. Once our drinks arrived, she took our dinner order with a smile. My wife and I both ordered Fajitas (she got Chicken, I got Texan). Once the food arrived, our impression of the place changed. The Fajitas were served on cast iron "sizzle" plates. The vegetables were all over cooked or burnt. The part that wasn't charred beyond recognition was good. Also, our server seemed to go on break once our food arrived, because I only saw here once or twice afterwards. (Our drinks needed refills, we ran out of tortillas and chips & salsa). I would understand if the place were extremely busy, but it was a Tuesday evening, and we were just one of four occupied tables. (There were at least two other servers that I saw).

Perhaps Tuesdays are for training days for the cooks and wait staff, but be prepared for burnt fajitas.

Pros: Everything looks professional and efficient

Cons: Overdone fajitas, Server disappeared once food arrived

Three co-workers and my self went there for lunch. I am vegan and I find that their vegetarian meal are very easy to make vegan. So I ordered the Vegetarian Fajitas and asked for no sour cream or cheese on the side plate. Easy enough so far.

I also asked for double beans as their rice is made w/chicken stock (strange for a "vegetarian" meal). Well, our waitress could not understand us as she did speak english well and it took 4 tries for me to get my food with no sour cream or the beans with no cheese on them.

So the food came out (just warm) and I noticed that I only had 2 tortillas. I asked if I could have another as I have eaten this meal several times and have always got 3. I was informed that they never give three...So, I said ok fine. I decided to eat some of my "extra" vegetables with the chips and while chewing found a large piece of steak. I know that most of you eat meat and this is no big deal...but, I have not eaten meat in 5 years. So, it is a VERY big deal to me. Imagine shellfish to someone who is allergic. Or dairy to someone who can't have it. Or pork to a muslim. We ask for things to be omitted for a reason.

When we asked to see the manager he just smirked at the girls (I was in the bathroom) and asked to see this meat. So they showed him. He just grabbed the plate and walked off huffing. Never apologized or anything. I have not complained about a meal in 15 years...but, this one got to me. I will never eat there again. And, if you have any special needs or wants for your food I suggest you stay clear of this place. They simply don't care....

Pros: Great space - Easy parking

Cons: Waitress could not understand english - Meat in Vegetarian Items - They Don't Care!!

Ive only had the chance to experience this restaurant once, didnt find out about it until I had already moved to Florida unfortunately, but it was one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever been to. I went with a group of about 12 the first time i went and we all greatly enjoyed the great food, service, music, and I agree with Winterec, AWESOME MARGARITAS! I fell in love with the place so much I am arranging a college reunion with close to 30 friends and holding it at Agave Azul. I just got off the phone with the place and they told me reservations are possible and said theyve had parties of 60 before. If you love delicious Mexican food at very affordable prices in a wonderful setting, you need to check out Agave Azul.

I have been to this restaurant several times. One of the times the manager was rude to a friend when checking out and then on another occasion she was personally rude to me. She critized us on many different levels and then said the tip was not good enough even though it was WELL over 15%. The food is good but the service is TERRIBLE.

I've been hitting the various Knoxville restaurants for 5 years or so now and I have to say that this is my favorite Mexican fare. They have the best margaritas I've ever had and the price is extremely reasonable. The food has been excellent and the service above average for Mexican dining. Give this place a try.
