My children loved this zoo. So much so, they didn't want to go home at the end of the day. It seems as if you are so in touch with the animals. The food was awesome. I was extremely impressed with the gorgeous pandas!

The layout of this zoo is superb. Despite the feeling that you may have walked a significant way from the entrance, the configuration of the paths leaves you never far from the main entrance area. There is a nice variety of exhibits, vendors, and even a few rides. The rides include a hand carved carousel ($2 per child and attending adults free), a train ($1 per person), and a dino-ride simulator ($4 per person). The employees are VERY polite and my children and I have complimented them at the main office. Go on a weekday (they open at 9 AM) and you'll often have the whole place virtually to yourself (until the school busses show up). Easy to enjoy a 3-4 hour visit.

With the improvements that have been made over the past few years the Memphis Zoo has received world recognition. Soon they will be opening their newest addtion....The Northwest Passage. I can't wait to see it.

This zoo is great for kids and adults. They have done a lot of improvement in the past few years to make the zoo more enjoyable for the animals, but that also made it more fun for the visitors. Most of the animals now have a natural habitat, no more concrete cages. It is a very fun trip for the whole family.
