I totally agree - the people at the store in East Knoxville are rude and don't really care if you get your machine taken care of or not EVEN if you have purchased the machine from SEW N VAC. I have just gone thru a nightmare with my machine with the West Knoxville location as well. I left my Husqvarna-Viking Platinum 950e embroidery machine for cleaning on December 4 and right before Christmas - they called and asked me what I wanted them to do with it because the machine was no longer working - only doing straight stitch. This machine was in PERFECT working order when it was left with them and just needed cleaning. They said they had checked and all the wires were in place and they had to call the main company for assistance - oddly enough the company never did call them back. They told me the main company was not open for the 2 weeks during Christmas holiday. In January I called them again and was told they thought it MIGHT be the keypad but would not give me a price as to how much it was going to take to fix it or how long it would take. HOWEVER, they would NOT order the part unless I let them basically hold my machine "hostage" till it came in, no matter how many months that would take. I went to pick the machine up without giving them warning (or time to do anything to it) and it was in pieces - I took it anyway and went to another business that can clean and fix my machine. In the end, when the keypad came in, when the new technician checked it, the wire that allows the machine to zig zag had mysteriously been unhooked. This simple "cleaning" cost me a fortune since I ended up having to replace a part that most likely was fine in the first place since the machine is used lightly and the business owners treated me like dirt. I would advise anyone considering buying a machine from this bunch of scam artists to GO ELSEWHERE. There are PLENTY of good and reputable sewing machine shops in the area and if you're going to spend the substantial amount of money it takes to get a good machine - you definitely want to get it from someone you can rely on for service after the sale. These jokers do NOT deserve to be in business-they are obnoxious and untrustworthy. I surely hope this helps someone else avoid the mistakes I made by buying from them in the first place and then going back only to find out service is non-existant. One more note, when I went to pick it up from SEW N VAC, they tried to say I had not brought in the foot pedal and power cord which I had done. I had to INSIST that they give them back to me and they just happened to find them in the back. That tells me plenty about just how crooked they are.

Unfortunately, I have to totally agree with "They Don't Care". I also have spent a large amount of money, but now that I need service, I've had to beg and threaten. I know that they have been in the sewing machine business for many years, and I'm surprised they've lasted. If other businesses in the area carried the brands that we can only get from Sew 'n Vac, I think their service policy would improve drastically. After this experience, I'll never buy anything else from them, and have told fellow sewers the same thing.

On 3/11/10 my sister, a senior citizen, purchased a Brother XL2600i sewing maching from Sew N Vac in JoAnn Fabrics for $149 which was supposedly on sale at a saving of $50. After returning home, and before opening the box, I checked online and found that the EXACT model sells on Amazon for $87.54 with free shipping and at Target for $99.99. I immediately called Sew N Vac and asked if we could get a refund. I was told that ALL SALES ARE FINAL THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. Indeed, this is printed on the invoice; however, this particular paper is not printed and given to the customer until after money is paid and the sale is completed. At no time during our conversation did Sarah, the sales clerk, inform my sister that there was a "No Refund" policy. If you do business with these people you'd better watch your back -- get an agreement in writing before any money changes hands. I will bring this situtation to the attention of the management of JoAnn Fabrics and hope they will give serious consideration as to whether they wish to continue their association with Sew N Vac because -- "You can't keep a skunk in the house without the whole place smelling."

I bought a sewing/embriodery machine from Sew-n-Vac located in JoAnn Etc. I spent a large amount of money on this machine. When I was interested in buying in it the staff was very helpful, but after I bought it they were too busy to help me. I had some problems understanding the machine and had called and asked for help. No one helped me, they took my number and said they would call back, they never did. I went up there twice only to be told they were too busy. It's funny they weren't too busy to take my money a few months ago but they are too busy to answer my questions. If you want a machine please go somewhere else.
