I was very impressed with my first experience at St Bethlehem Animal Clinic. Their knowledgeable staff took their time with me and my dog and examined him thoroughly. The vet talked to my pet as if it was their own. Thank you for taking good care of us.

A friend of mine suggested me this animal clinic when my pet was ill for weeks. Dr Ronald Whitford has an amazing ability to make the right calls. Be assured, your pet will get the adequate care in a friendly environment... A-grade facility.

Dr. Whitford and his wife does so much for the stray pets in our area, especially for the unwanted kittenstheir low cost spay-neuter program has also helped all of us who could not afford to go to other local vets for their costlier procedures.

If you love your animal DON'T bring your animal here! I used to work there for a few weeks before I couldn't take it any longer. The owner is more worried about how he can make more money than help your pet. In surgery he doesn't use

St B is the worst place you can go to. Dr. Whitford is all about money not quality. In the last 2 yrs. he has lost at least maybe 10 vets because he treats people like dirt. He is so lazy he does not even update who his vets are. Dr.

I took my pets to St. Bethlehem Animal Clinic to have my female dogs spayed. This Clinic offers a low cost spay/neuter program for $50 per pet. I advised prior to coming that one of my girls was in heat, and they informed me there was an additional charge because of it. The fee is an additional $25. I was informed if I could have my pets at their office by 10am, the procedure could be completed on both pets that day.

I arrived and met with a Vet tech that performed an examination on both dogs, and then wrote up a complete list of charges. I was also advised by the staff that both dogs are a high risk breed (Shih Tzu ) for anesthesia so there would be additional cost. After everything was totaled, the final bill was $269.85. I paid the bill in full and left my pets in their care.

About 2 hours later, I received a call from Kristy Dalton (the surgical tech) to inform me there would be additional charges for Snickers procedure (the dog in heat) and that it could be included with the remaining balance. I advised her that I had already paid in full for all additional charges we discussed and there should not be a balance. Kristy informed me that I had only paid for one dog, and that she would be happy to send me a picture of my dogs uterus just as she hung up on me. I immediately called back the emergency cell phone number that she called me from and got no response. I promptly got in my car and headed to the office. While driving, I contacted the main number and was advised by Lori Rye that I had only paid for one dog. I informed Lori that I was on my way to the office and I needed to speak with a manager, the surgical tech, and the Vet assistant that created my paperwork. I also informed her about Kristy being very unprofessional and offering to send me a picture of my dogs uterus.

When I arrived at the office, I was confronted by the entire staff. The entire staff was informing me I had paid for only one dog and, the dog in heat still had not been paid for, which was an additional $250. I asked for a copy of the original paperwork that I had signed which had a complete breakdown of the charges of each procedure since the receipt does not provide it. Upon finally locating the paperwork and providing me with a copy of it, they agreed that I had in fact already paid for both dogs. Kathryn Whitford then continued to insist there was still an additional charge of $250 for my dog in heat. I strongly disagreed and pointed out that they obviously were f%#king incompetent. She threatened to call the police due to me cursing in their store. I asked her, How well would you handle this situation if you were in my shoes? I think Im doing very well.
Ms. Whitford returned to the counter and pulled Kristy over to her. I asked if she was the one who offered to send me a picture of my dogs uterus and then hung up on me. She responded, She didnt hang up on me and that the call was disconnected. I asked, If that was true and I immediately called back, then why you would not answer knowing that it was an emergency situation, as they called it. Kathryn also informed me that it is common for patients to ask for pictures of their dogs uteruses. Kristy added that she wanted to get her information correct before she informed me of anything further. After all was said and done from that visit they informed me there would only be an additional $50 charge for her procedure. Knowing my dogs were in their hands, choose to accept that.
Prior to picking up my dogs, I contacted three other Veterinary Offices. I was informed by all three, that Shih Tzus are not a high risk anesthesia breed and under no circumstances has a Surgical tech EVER asked to provide a customer with a picture of their dogs uterus. At 4:30pm, I returned to pick up my dogs and was reminded of the $50 remaining charge. I informed them I would be filing formal complaints with every website, bureau and review site possible and, I would not stop until something was done about their subpar level of professionalism and the rudeness from their staff. Traci Wilson interrupted and informed me she had already spoken with the owner regarding my matter because I had already signed off on the paperwork. The paperwork I signed had nothing about additional charges that were presented after the fact. I requested the name of the surgical tech, as I did not remember it from the prior visit. Ms. Wilson was extremely reluctant to give me any information, but she was very quick to give me the owners name, Dr. Ronald Whitford.

You can base your own conclusions of the staff and clinic; however, this is the story of my experience with choosing a less than acceptable clinic for the care of my dogs.

I wanted to ad something to my other review the only thing that keeps St B open is Dr. Whitford's kind veternarian's he himself does not know the meaning of the work kindness he is only interested in the mighty dollar. Dr. Whitford sent me this e-mail
By the way all vets are losing money from their
personal compensation fund especially Dr.
Whitley for letting you do this so you have really
hurt them as much as the clinic that is their
payment for trying to be nice to you.

I admit his office gave me alot of credit but I make at least 3 payments per month even though he is refusing me my animals files. I could get nasty and cancel my checks but I will pay him every penny because I will not lower myself to his level. I have filed a complaint with the vet licensing board about my files. It came to my attention about another lady who too took her dog out of their because of excessive pricing. But prior she had taken the dog for a spade well several days later the dog had porvo which she thinks her dog caught it at St. B well Dr. Whitford told me himself he does all the spades and neuters. Well I had stopped at animal control to discuss another issue and mentioned this and he told me several of their dogs they had been taken there had came down with porvo later as well. Of course Dr. Whitford denied everything as usual. This lady is also filing a complaint. Complaints seem to be piling up.
As far as the e-mail he sent he did not bother to mention this to his doctors. I am letting them know. So I guess the loss of their personal compensation will come as a surprise to all.

I agree with what another person about what they said about Dr. Whitford they described him as arrogant and self-absorbed, intimidating and narrow-minded so true. I had been with St B for several yrs. They gave me credit I would pay it off do again pay it off and so on. I have never bounced a check or left them holding a dime. In fact Kathy his wife had put me on cash only wasn't the 1st time. Well a few days later I got a call from St B telling me my cash business was no longer wanted either. In fact Dr. Whitford was so arrogant he refuses to give my files to my new vet even though some of my pets have health issues then he turned his anger on all vets and told them they were losing part of their compensation ( money ) for being nice to me especially Dr. Whitley. Well his office staff approved the credit and my post dated checks yet they blamed every vet even though they do not handle the billing dept. Several vets have left him because of the way that clinic is run. Dr. Whitford told me himself he does all spading because he has the only know how. I know Dr. Whitley and Dr. Wickes they are both good but Dr. Whitford makes it unbearable to be there. I will not recommend them either in fact I called my friends and steered them elsewhere. Dr. Whitford is so narrow minded he is willing to let my animals die by not sharing the files so would you want your animal there someone who is that vindictive not me. THINK BEFORE YOU GO

I was floored when I walked into this practice. It is amazing and the people are vet friendly. Dr. Whitley came in and seen us on an emergency after hours. This was the only practice that I found that would even come in after hours. We are fortunate he did because I have no doubt our little dog would have died. Thank you Dr. Whitley we will be seeing you soon.

After I had a bad experience at another boarding kennel I went for a tour of St. Bethlehem's boarding and it was so nice. They said every room has a seperate ventilation system to help prevent odor and disease. It was great, all of the dogs in their boarding looked happy and well cared for. My dog is older and gets a little nervous, she stayed in a room called serenity that is only for pets that like to have it very quiet, we were very pleased after her stay. We will be back.

St. Bethlehem animal clinic is AMAZING! I just recently moved to the area and I was looking for a new vet to bring my puppy to and I have now found it. The Vets at this clinic are so professional, dedicated, and well worth the extra 25 minutes I have to drive to get there. The prices are also a plus! I took my puppy to get spayed and I was quoted a great price before she had the surgery and to my amazement when I picked up my Lucy later that day the price was even lower. To have such quality of care at such great prices guarantees me to keep bringing my pet back! I would refer anybody and everybody to this clinic?

There was a time when I would never have dreamed of going to a different animal clinic. I loved St. B's. There were two vets in particular with whom I had established a close relationship. Both of them are gone now for reasons which I am not at liberty to discuss.

I have an older kitty whose diabetes was in remission or had simply gone away. (It was the two above mentioned veterinarians who treated her back to health). Recently she developed some sort of skin infection on her tummy. One young vet treated her and would not give her a cortisone shot for the itching (because of the history of diabetes), but rather gave her oral meds and a topical spray to try to help the problem. When I took her back for a recheck, the young lady vet followed along with the first vet, but left the exam room to check with Dr. Whitford about the cat's problem. He came in and completely disregarded what had been done previously. He put her on a 'high powered' antibiotics and gave her that first cortisone shot - for itching.

She seemed to get better for a couple of days, but within a week she was back to bleeding from a badly bruised-looking belly- after she licked the area because of the itching. Her skin had beome tissue thin and blood was pooling right beneath the surface.

I took her back to Dr. Whitford who tried to dismiss the problem by telling me she was allergic to fleas. I had treated all the cats with Frontline, and used a flea comb on them, and could not find evidence of any fleas.

On my last visit up there, Whitford tried brushing her fur to get 'flea dirt' off of her, and found a couple of little black specks - which did resemble flea dirt. He moistened a q-tip and tried to prove it was flea dirt. Flea dirt will look red (from blood the fleas suck off the animal) when moistened. Neither black dot turn red. Whitford insisted they did and told me I had a flea problem.

Having tired of Whitford's 'diagnosis' (no blood work had been done on my cat to determine whether she had any infection going on), and seeing no improvement after his prescription of another round of antibiotics and a second cortisone shot, I decided to look for one of the vets who had left.

I found her and, because of the two cortisone shots Whitford gave my cat, the diabetes has returned; there is no allergice reaction to fleas (because there are no fleas); and the problem has deteriorated to a serious problem. My 'new' vet is taking excellent care of her having taken her home for the weekend to watch her carefully. Of course, now she has to have insulin shots.

I would not take anything back to that clinic as long as it is under Whitford's supervision/ownership. His sloppy care of my cat is evidence of a dereliction of his responsibility as a credible veterinarian. He is arrogant and self-absorbed, intimidating and narrow-minded. The decline of the clinic is so very, very sad. As I said above, I used to brag about the clinic and refer friends to it. I'm sorry for that now. If i could give less than one star, I would.

St Bethlehem Animal Clinic is AMAZING! I recently moved here and didn't know where to go with my sick dog. When I found out they accept walk-ins at certain times, I was so excited. Its always so hard to get into a vets office and this is so convenient!

Every time we go there, we have a great experience. Our dog had pancreatic cancer and had to be put down and they were the most understanding staff I have ever encountered. Not only did they offer the choice of cremation, they called me several times, sent me cards from the vets and office staff, and always cared about our concerns and answered any questions.

I have since been back with our other dog numerous times and have seen Dr. Whitley, Dr. Timmons, and most recently Dr. Wicks who was more than helpful and understanding.

Thank you to the wonderful people who care about my "children!"

This is a wonderful place. We were experiencing eliminating problems with one of our cats and everyone was incredibly helpful. They gave us tips, suggestions, names of behaviorists, etc. Even the lady who answered the phone was helpful. Unfortunately we had to remove the pet from our home due to this problem and once again the staff was helpful in recommending a safe solution in finding a home. The waiting area is beautiful, everyone is quite friendly. It's a bit expensive but with their high level of customer service and knowledge it's worth every penny!

St. B Animal Clinic, I would have to say, is the best animal clinic in Clarksville. I just had my boxer spayed and they were great with her. They're very respectful of you and your pet. I couldn't have asked for better service from them.

St. B Animal Clinic, I would have to say, is the best animal clinic in Clarksville. I just had my boxer spayed and they were great with her. They're very respectful of you and your pet. I couldn't have asked for better service from them.

I just moved here back in Feb from Alaska. We were looking for a vet for my cat, and my husband and I just got a puppy back in march for our son. So I was doing all my homework on all the vets in the area that would be good with my pets. I found Saint Bethlehem Animal Clinic and I just love this vet.. The people are great they answered all my questions that I had on getting a new puppy (have not had one in 7 years) and everything in this area since we came from Alaska and don??t have to worry about flees ,ticks ect.. They were so helpful, the place is so clean, neat, friendly, great with my pets, kid friendly (have toys in the wait area), the Techs/ and doc??s are great.. And I also love that they have many things IE (the pet hotel, cremation on site ect)? Before I decided to take my pets to Saint Bethlehem Animal Clinic they also showed me around the place?

I just recently discovered this vet clinic and I think by FAR it is the best. The assistants and DRs were very nice, clean and friendly. The office is very child & pet friendly. Answers all of your questions, well worth the drive. Plus, the office visit is one of the cheapest around!

I am writing in regards to my dog who passed away on the 16Th.I wanted to have her cremated and the only place that would do it that day was this one. The staff was so friendly and they really took care in my feelings and they just gave me so much support. The card they gave me was beautiful and my dog's ashes were back the next day. They are very nice there. The office is beautiful.
