My roommate and I lived here for a full year and that was about all we could handle. We were embarrassed to bring friends over due to the fact that we never knew when we would see one of our little friends scurry across the wall or the rest of their clan sitting in the kitchen while the lights were off. They came and sprayed multiple times but it didn't help. We ended up making a game out of it by seeing who could kill the most roaches. They would get in the dishwasher, cabinets, drawers, bathrooms, bedrooms, and living room. We weren't safe from them anywhere.\n\nOn top of the roaches, our electricity bill was ridiculous because our door and the door jam didn't even touch. You could practically see outside between the door and the jam. They maintenance tried to come and fix it but they just ended up making it worse and the door wouldn't even shut.\n\nNow that we've moved out, they took our deposit and they're making us pay $100 to pay for hanging pictures and to replace the drip pans that were already ruined when we got there....\nThe rents pretty cheap...but you get what you pay for.

I have lived at Signal View for an unfortunate 6 years....Beverly and Pat...the so called Management team at Signal View are old hags that resemble the spawn of satan....they are horrible people. I unfortunately am an owner and they still treat me like sh*t...I basically pay their pay checks with my associate fees!! I wouldn't recommend living here...it is a hell hole..and If I wasn't a freaking owner I would have been outta here a long time ago.....BEWARE OF THE OLD HAGS IN THE OFFICE!!! The place is turning ghetto..and there is a lot of crime...I had my car broken into 2 times in one week and the management didn't do a thing...they didn't even care. This place really sucks..beware...seriously.

I owned a condo at Signal View and was very unhappy with the staff and grounds. The staff was very rude from the office lady named Pat to the very rude repair men. The office did not give me the neccessary information on any matters then blamed and fined me for not ""following the rules"". If you like to pay to have people be extremely rude to you and be fined then live at Signal View.

I lived at Signal View for a year and just recently moved out. I loved the location and all my nrighbors! The grounds upkeep was nice too, I loved seeing all the new flowers being put in every two weeks or so. \r\n\r\nThe Negatives: Even though they had Cooks Pest Control come to spray every Wed. afternoon, they would only spray the kitchen and bathrooms. Not the living area or bedrooms unless you asked, which wasn't a big at all, and it wouldn't have been if the bugs didn't come back. It was not unusual for me to wake up and have atleast one to three three inch cockroaches dead on my floor spiders, and little black bugs that look like a mix between a tick and a ladybug. I repeatedly asked the office to spray the entire building, not just the individual units who wanted them to spray for bugs. So pretty much, you can be the cleanest person in your building, but if your neighbors arent and dont get Cooks to spray for bugs YOU WILL have bugs too. \r\n\r\nAlso, Parking SUCKS. You don't get any assigned parking, its all first come first serve, so if your neighbors have company over, they will take your spot and you will have to walk further to your apt. Not a big deal, but also not too pleasent.\r\n\r\nThe day I was scheduled to have my exiting inspection, Mitzy, did not call to confirm the inspection, nor did she notify me when she was unable to make the appointment. After five minutes after the set meeting time of not hearing anything, I called the office and she was with a customer who was moving in that day, so we set the meeting time back thirty minutes later. After 45 if not hearing from her, and her not showing up, I called again she told be to wait because she was busy. So they will bend ove bacwards to help you move in, but once you are leaving they could careless about you.

Pros: the location

Cons: bugs, leasing staff

.

I have lived here for over a year and will gladly renew my lease. The maintenance may not fix the problem the first time, but they come back until it is fixed right. The Maintenance people are friendly and try to please you. I am an older tenant, my 2 grandchildren are with me on the week-ends and play in a safe and cheerful environment. There are several older tenants and owners but there are also several family tenants. The complex is a mix of old and young. There are those who cause trouble as there would be in any community but overall I find the people here to be friendly. The grounds are beautiful even if the apartments are old. The price range is a good deal for what you get. It is not a perfect place to live, but it is a nice place to live. I pay my rent on time so I have little involvment with the office staff. All in all Signal View is a nice place to live.

Pros: Good maintenance, family oriented

Cons: Older apartments

.

First, you should know that the majority of the apartments are pretty old. My one-bedroom was buit in 1975, so it's not a fabulous, sparkling brand-new space, but it's a good deal. I looked all over Chattanooga when I moved here, and there's nothing in this price range that's well-maintained in a decent, safe complex. I pay $525 a month for a 700-sq. foot 1 bedroom. It has new appliances and new carpet. \r\n\r\nI've never had a problem with the office staff. In fact, I've only seen them a few times. When there's been a problem with the apartment, I call and usually one of the maintenance guys is here within minutes.\r\n\r\nThe location is pretty ideal. There is a grocery store within walking distance and a Wal-Mart, K-Mart and other stores and restaurants within a minute's drive. Downtown is less than 10 minutes away. The complex has a small workout room, a nice pool, good laundry room and the grounds are really well maintained.\r\n\r\nOne complaint might be that so many older people live here. Each apartment is owned by an individual, not the complex. You take your rent the complex office each month, but you write your check to an individual. Many of the residents are actual owners though, and when you mix young renters and older owners together, there is going to be problems. Some of the rules here seem to favor the owners, but on the other hand, the older folks make sure the complex is well-maintained and quiet, so it's a mixed bag.\r\n\r\nSet aside those other complainers. I never listen to apartment reviews where people complain about ""rude office staff."" I've been a renter for about five years, and I never deal with the office staff. I think the ""rudeness"" comes from people who complain constantly or don't pay their rent on time.\r\n\r\nAll and all, Signal View is a good choice, especially if you are a student or new to town and want to be close to downtown.

- Not told would have to move out of apartment until a month before lease ran out because wanting to sell empty.\r\n- Eight outside lights in one area out for over two months\r\n- Cut chain on brand new bike saying it had been there for along time. Manager refused to speak to me about refunding me the price of the cut chain\r\n- Refuse to replace dishwasher that will mold unless you open the door right after the cycle ends\r\n- Left oven on 400 degrees while away on honeymoon from Friday until I found it Monday night.\r\n\r\nI could list more issues, but I think you get the point. Daniel is fabulous. Beverly (Manager) is worthless.

Pros: Some apartments are really nice for the price.

Cons: Beverly (Management) perfers to close her eyes and pretend everything is just dandy.

I have never seen so many water issues with a property. In fact, between water breaks and leaking ceilings I have never lived anywhere with these issues. Understanding it is an old property it is ridiculous. In the maintenance department they finally got in someone good, but he is gone now. The accounting person is just hateful. She snags attitude and acts if she doesn't want to help. The receptionist is nice but she is so forgetful. I had to call several times before the new Property Manager ever got the message and called back. Things have just gone down hill and I will not renew my lease this time and I have been there for awhile.

Pros: Pool area is nicely located - kept ok

Cons: No hookups for washer / dryer, unfriendly staff, maintenance is horrible - not family oriented (kid friendly)
