I was in town on business and stayed at the Holiday Inn across the street. Needed a bite to eat but wanted to get out of the hotel, and Chesapeake's was the closest place. Having grown up on the East Coast, I am generally skeptical of seafood restaurants this far from the sea. So I ordered the filet and grilled shrimp, just to hedge my bets. The steak was juicy and flavorful, and they were very gracious about grilling it a little longer when it first arrived a little too rare for my taste (came back perfect). But the shrimp was a pleasant surprise. It was fresh and grilled perfectly. Wish I had gotten a seafood dish. Also the service was excellent. Darius S. was my waiter and he was very attentive (without being an annoying hoverer), took care of special requests promptly, and got everything right. The manager also checked in to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. I very much enjoyed my meal, and will certainly make my way back to Chesapeake's any time I find myself in Knoxville.

Pros: Good food, excellent service

Off the beaten path but worth the trouble! Excellent seafood and customer service. Don't let their location or small interior fool you. They serve first class seafood the way it should be served! Unfortunately, their prices make this a "special occasion" only destination!

The food is great, prices area on the high side, It took someone explaining the menu to me. The access was rather poor, only a few tables that a wheelchair user can access. I kind of felt out of place the time I ate there. I would send people who are prepared for the high class attmosphere

Chesapeake's is our favorite restaurant. The service is always good, the food is always delicious, the wine is always just what we wanted. We like that Chesapeake's atmosphere is welcoming to both the Vol fans on the way home from the game as well as the couple celebrating their anniversary in romantic style. Chesapeake's has that ambiance that can only come with years of being one of the best - you feel it when you walk in the door. Finely built, but just a tad outdated; clean, but showing wear. From the time your server presents the wine til the point you push away from the last bit of dessert, you are already looking forward to the next time you can visit.

Pros: Great Food, Great Service, Classic downtown atmosphere

Cons: smokers at the bar

I have eaten here a few times. It is one of my favorite places to eat. The menu is a little pricy but well worth it. The blackened swordfish is out of this world. The staff is very friendly. I have always gotten good service here. This is a great place to eat for that special day.
