I've never had worse service in my life. The owner over charged me for food I didn't eat and then argued with me when I showed him the menu price. He was extremely rude and the food was mediocre at best. Not worth the hassle- don't bother!

We recently visited Nashville and thought we'd give Bro's Cajun Cuisine (Triple D (Diners. Drive-Ins and Dives) recommended it) a try. We should have been tipped off by the salvation army decor, but you never know what they might be

I love Bro's! I've been eating here for almost 7 years. When my family comes to visit - this is the first place they want to go. Darrell and his family are just as sweet as they can be!

The place is a total dive. Don't expect the royal treatment. But, DO expect the best jambalaya you've ever had! And his shrimp po-boys are a MUST.

I actually prefer Bro's over Acme Oyster in New Orleans!

Here's the deal...if you're looking for REAL Cajun food, this is the place! How do I know? I'm a real Cajun girl from Cajun country. This food is better than most restaurants back home! Nothing fancy here, but you'll find delicious, authentic Cajun food. If you're looking for the real deal, you gotta go!

Bro's Cajun Cuisine, huh. What a joke. First off, the wait staff was terrible, never seated us, never offered us menus, got the order wrong, and reminded us to leave a tip! The food was very expensive for what you got. $10 for a Po Boy with 5 shrimp is insane. The cajun was not very cajun, just overpriced and in a filthy environment. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I went here with my mom and brother hoping for some yummy cajun food. It may have been the worst meal I've ever had in my six years of living in Nashville. The service was slow and unfriendly, the food wasn't particularly appetizing, and the prices were totally unreasonable. I agree with the other poster that this place would probably have trouble passing inspection. No ambiance, nothing to like about the place.

If you're looking for authentic New Orleans-style fare, THIS is the place to go. You won't find fancy digs -- quite the opposite -- but you DO get fresh, homemade red beans and rice, stellar gumbos, steaming po' boys and some of the best fried potatoes this side of grandma's house. If you're looking to satisfy a craving for Cajun, skip the fancy alternative(s) and head for Charlotte Ave. You won't be disappointed.

My wife, son, & I wanted to eat a good cajun lunch on 9-26-07 in Nashville. We did not want to pay a fortune and the "reviews" we read of Bro's sounded good. Those favorable reviews MUST have been written by the OWNER & FAMILY MEMBERS. The facility was HOT, SMELLY, and FILTHY: I am sorry my 1st impression did not make me leave immediately. We each ordered a different meal intending to share a bit among us. That never happened because each of us realized our meal was one of the VERY WORST we had ever tried to eat!!
The tomatoes were spoiled, shrimp was over-cooked, rice and vegetables must have been cooked the week prior. The waiter actually threw- not hard, but STILL- items like silver ware on our table: he was a real slob who probably does not know what personal hygiene is.
If anyone reading this has any local influence, PLEASE ask the Health Dept. to inspect this place and NOT give them a 1-week notice! I am a retired Army guy in Clarksville and will never again rely on reviews written by (???) but on word-of-mouth recommendations by people I trust.
AVOID THIS PLACE AS YOU WOULD IRAN OR IRAQ !!

This place is great, it's not easy to find good New Orleans food.I'm from the West Bank in New Orleans and I'm so glad this place is around, they should tear down all the Mc Donalds and put up a BRO'S in place of them.

Pros: Great NewOrleans food

I've followed this place since I was a kid living in Sylvan Park. It's a bit of a dive but the food is great, the portions are very american and the service is good. It isn't open on the weekends which is the only bad thing.

I love this place. I have been frequenting it for close to 10 years. It has moved three times in that time period, and I have hunted it down each time.

I've been going to Bro's since they were on Murphy road, the location has changed but the food is still the greatest! The catfish is out of this world, and the gumbo is great. The veggies are always excellent, never a bad choice - my favorites are the field peas with onions and the turnip greens. This "secret" is on the verge of expoliding, so grab a plate and take a friend to knock their socks off.

My company had it catered in so I have never been to the restaurant, but if the restaurant is anything like the food....WOW! If you just haven't been able to find that New Orleans flavor anywhere else, Bro's is the place! Spicy and full of Cajun/Creole flavor! GREAT!

Wow. Great food. Perfect atmosphere. More for your money at this diner, folks. The cornbread was out of this world (just like grandma used to make), and it only got better from there. The staff is friendly and extremely efficient -- they have to be to handle a crowd that, at peak lunch hour, may have been waiting 30 minutes to get a table!

But it is MORE than worth the wait... and they take checkcards!

You've got to try this place... it's the kind of thing you WISH was a secret... but there's enough to share!
