While I agree that Dr. Talbott is a great vet, I have had nothing but negative experiences with everyone else there. receptionists, vet"techs" (pretty positive none of them are registered), Dr.Brasher is especially awful and unfriendly. I have been a dog owner for over 12 years and have known many beloved vets. After having moved to Nashville, I went there because it was close by. I tried it three times and will never go back. I know what my dogs need and what they do not. I am not a cheap skate. That being said, i felt that i was totally being "sold" and being coerced into things that I know my dogs did not need and had nothing to do with the visit. Hey, those of you who enjoy being demeaned and oversold, by all means enjoy the commission based staff and fattening Dr. Brasher's already fat pockets.

I've been taking my 16-year-old toy poodle, Cozy, to Belle Forest for 15 years. I first starting going there when we lived just a few minutes away in Bellevue. I continue to take her there even though I now live in town near Belmont. Why? Because the care she gets there is unexcelled. She has been treated for years by Dr. Kim Brasher, who is knowledgable in both traditional and natural methods of care. And for the past two weeks she's been under Dr. Talbott's care... first a kidney/liver infection with diarrhea, then a dislocated right hip joint, then a fractured leg. Several times I thought I might lose her but between the care she was given and her indominatable spirit, she has turned the corner and is healing beautifully. Dr. Talbott has remained in excellent touch throughout.

Dr. Talbott cared for my dog up until his very last moment on earth and I am so grateful that he was with me when Scout left this world. Dr. Talbott is not your ordinary veterinarian. No review or amount of feedback could ever communicate

No review or amount of feedback could ever communicate how unique he truly is and how grateful I am to have found him. Dr. Talbott cares deeply for his animal patients and works tirelessly to provide them with the best possible care and treatment. Out of all of the vets I have seen in my day, this man deserves to be recognized for his true devotion to animals and his huge loving heart. I have no doubt that he has a place reserved for him in Heaven and so do many of the sweet members of his staff who tried to save Scout's life. 'Thanks' will never express the amount of appreciation I will always have for Dr. Talbott and staff. Taylor

I am very shocked to read these reviews. My family has been using Belle Forest for close to 20 years. All of us bring our animals here and we have plenty of furchildren among us. My husband and I find the staff very friendly, never have difficulty obtaining an appointment and have never been overcharged or charged for services we do not authorize. The techs and vets are very sweet to our dog and are always gentle towards him. That being said, we have never boarded our animals in the kennel so perhaps several of these negative reviews are more in relation to the kennel than the vet services.

I have been a loyal client of Belle Forest Aminal Hospital for over six years now, and the care they have given all my pets, two dogs and a cat, has been nothing but outstanding. The doctors performed a surgury on the older of my two dogs, a Beagle-Jack Russell mix, when he was just a puppy, before he even came to live with me, and made a miracle. With a 70 percent chance he would lose use of that leg at only five months old, he came out of recovery like a brand new puppy. And now at almost nine years old, he still has full use of that leg and has the energy of a dog half his age. The patience they showed my other dog, a pit bull mix, now two and a half, has made the staff at Belle Forest the only people HE trusts to trim his nails, myself included. And when my cat passed away a little over a year ago, they took the time to send me a card of condolence that was very heart-felt and was signed by the entire staff and all the doctors. The front office staff knows my dogs and me by name, on the phone and in person, and they even comment on how much better my younger dog behaves from visit to visit. I would recommend Belle Forest to anyone who is looking for the best vet clinic, as I will continue to be a loyal client for many years to come.

The ONLY reason that I go to this vet is because it is 3 minutes from my house. I have had my dog treated there about 5 times over a 5-7 year period. I have kenneled him there several times. The kennel seems to be ok. The front staff is ok I guess but definitely not overly friendly. The really bad part is that the doctors themselves are horrible. They have the personality of a brick wall, do not want to hear what you have to say, give little or no information about the problem at hand and want to just push you out as quickly as possible even when you are the only customer there! They are so uncaring and rude. I will not be back!!! They do not give a crap about your pet....only your $$$$$$$$$$$$

I love this vet. I have taken my accident pron pup to this vet several times. The staff is awesome and very helpful. The veterinarians are awesome also. My dog has needed several surgeries and it's never over priced and it is exactly what they quoted me, which is extremely helpful. I would recommend this vet to everyone and I have recommended it to my friends. My pets are my children and I only trust them to the best, and this vet is the best!

Belle Forest Animal Hospital is the best clinic I have ever visited. After moving to Nashville one of my cats became very ill. Being new to the area, I was not familiar with the clinics... and after having poor experiences at another, visited Belle Forest upon recommendation. Dr. Kim Brasher was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and got our little one healthy again. I will compare every future veterinarian that cares for our pets to the quality of service & care offered at Belle Forest. Sheri is such a kind and efficient receptionist also. I was trained as a veterinary technician and would recommend Belle Forest hands down to any clinic I have ever visited or worked at in the past.

Don't know what made me google this today, but when I saw Carol's skewering of this fine vet, I thought I'd weigh in. I've taken my cats there for years and always find the staff helpful and caring-never "rude". When I lost a cat years ago, they were particularly compassionate and did many tests without charging me, as my finances back then were not in good shape. Carol says in her post that they are "rude." That is a serious charge to make, but she's given no evidence of their rudeness in her post. The fact that perhaps some issue or issues haven't been resolved to her particular satisfaction doesn't translate in my book as "rudeness". There is obviously another side to this story. Her post is very short on facts and very long on accusatory statements. I just hate to see a fine group of people unfairly maligned. Does she expect her situation to be satisfactorily resolved by putting a post like this on the web?

The staff at this clinic is extremely rude! Have been given conflicting information on numerous encounters and any disputes referred to Dr. Kim Brasher have not been resolved. She tells you on the phone that she will resolve the issue, but in a month's time, never has. They do unnecessary procedures and charge more than they quote it will cost. I would not recommend this clinic and encourage others to avoid it unless you want to be taken advantage of.

I was warned about the unethical practices of this clinic, yet I had to learn the hard way myself. My dog was given way too much medication (against my knowledge until I requested a copy of the records) when I was boarding him, to the point of his being violently ill before they discovered their mistake. They have repeatedly administered services that I did not request, or that I directly told them not to do, and then charged me for them. On my last visit, I was quoted one price for my visit, and when I came to pick up my dog, was charged nearly double the quoted amount! When I left him there for the day, I specifically asked them to call me before they did anything other than what the appointment was for, yet they did not call and they did extra procedures anyway. I have been trying to resolve this issue with them for weeks, and Dr. Brasher told me on the phone that she would refund the difference in the quoted price and the price I was charged, yet she then sent me a letter stating that she would not refund my money. She told me to go to another Vet if I wasn't happy. I requested medical records for all of my pets and she did not send them. I had to call the manufacturer of a medication they applied and was told that the method they used was ineffective the way they applied it, yet Dr. Brasher told me that the manufacturer was wrong! The manufacturer knows more about their product than the clinic, yet Dr. Brasher continues to stand behind their improper procedures. I strongly encourage anyone who is considering using this clinic to go elsewhere! They are clearly not concerned with the well-being of our pets over the money they can swindle out of you.

I loved bringing my dogs here. My dogs are my kids, so I spend a great deal of money on them. I had no problems boarding my dogs for a while....and I board 3 or more times a year. The last visit, we were charged $200 for shots and exams that we did not authorize. When I called to complain, I was told that my husband had authorized and was lying to me. Not the truth...he had never authorized before. I think the girl made a mistake and tried to lie her way out. She told me that "I have worked here for 20 years, who do you think they will believe." (exact words) Needless to say, I pulled my dogs immediately. It is strange that another customer picking their dog up that day was charged for unauthorized shots as well. HMMMM.

We have had several greyhounds over the past 12 years and wouldn't trust them to any other vet (and we've visited a few.) The staff is friendly and the vets are knowledgeable and caring. Rest assured your faithful friends are getting the best care possible.

I had been a customer for over seven years. If you own a large breed dog, you know how expensive they are and how much money that is to spend at one clinic. But I stayed with them because it was convenient and my dog seemed to like them. Their kennel had been okay, too... old and cramped, but hey, he's a dog. Anyway, my dog developed a serious infection they couldn't get a handle on, so I took him elsewhere. Once properly diagnosed, the vet phoned prescriptions to Belle Forest. So I kenneled the dog there for four days, telling them (I watched them write it down) that he needed to be medicated (with the very meds they filled, mind you). I come back and they didn't do it (and I had the number of the pills in the bottle to prove it). Anyway, the infection had worsened and the vet tech told me she was "so sorry" and that because she knew it might set him back, there would be no charge. I took my dog, thinking all was okay... not great, but at least not the usual ridiculous fee to put a dog in a cage. When I returned later for more antibiotics - predicably, the infection worsened - they wanted their money from before. I relayed the story, but was basically called a liar by the vet tech who originally sent me home without paying. I said no, of course. Originally, it was a mistake - a bad one - but a mistake I could forgive. But now they wanted backpay. So I go home thinking its over with, right? Two days later, I get a letter in the mail, basically kicking us out of their clinic! The letter doesn't mention their negligence with my dog, nor the fact that they handed my dog over to me (how could I have left with my dog without paying if they'd really wanted me to pay - they had my dog!). They'd never really been the most talented of vets (for instance, a few years before, they told me a torn ACL in my dog could heal on its own and I could wait it out - bad advice, it got worse!). Short story long, if you value your dog's health or your $ - stay away!

After numerous trips (and hunderds of dollars) to his regular vet for a terrible ear infection, I took my floppy eared woofer to Belle Forest and saw Dr. Talbott. What a blessing! He spent 45 minutes with us, cut all the nasty clumped fur from the dog's ear, cleaned and medicated it, talked with me, showed me how to better care for the ear, gave him a specially made medication, and the cost was 1/4 what the other vet charged. In one week the infection was gone and... happy woofer again!!! I have now transferred all my pets' medical records to Belle Forest and I will always use them from now on!

I had four pets when we moved to bellevue and three of them are patients here. When we visit I never feel like we are being oversold on services or medications - quite the opposite, they understand the huge cost of multiple pets and try to work within your means. Recently, I had to put my beloved 16 year kitty to sleep and they were kind and caring about everything and gave us care options ( if we wanted to extend his life a few months longer) and discussed euthanasia. When we decided to let him go, they were sympathetic, and the when they time came they were sweet and gentle with him right up to the end. I recommend them to anyone with pets looking for a good clinic.

PROS: Good vets who will care for your pets like family.

I found an adorable black lab this morning in my yard. It had two collars, and two tags. No number to the owner, however. Both numbers got me here-- to Belle Forest. First, the receptionest was rude and very impatient. She seemed very unwilling to help. She told me the number on the tag didn't turn up any results, and I would be better off calling metro-- unless, of course, I felt like calling up every other vet in Nashville. So I ask for the number to metro, and am put on hold for over 10 minutes. A vet. tech. picks up the phone, was very nice and very willing to send me back to the receptionists. I am put on hold for yet another 10 min. before I realize the beautiful little lab has escaped the fence I put up for him.

Horrid.

I've taken my puppy for all of his puppy shots, and have had a great experience with the veterinarians here. They are very informative and take the time to answer questions. I didn't feel rushed like I have at other vets. However, I have had two inconvienences with the kennel department. When I left my puppy over the weekend in the boarding kennel, he was covered in pee. I was charged for the bath and frontline application that he didn't receive. The teenagers working (sunday..only open for an hour) did not know how to operate the register. The second time, they charged me twice for everything and couldn't refund me...making me come back again to fix the charges.

PROS: Great vets, hospital offers great service
CONS: kennel service is stinky
